NInja Turtles Co-Creator Slams Megan Fox's Casting

The co-creator of TMNT is not a fan of the casting of Megan Fox as April O’Neil in producer Michael Bay‘s upcoming Ninja Turtles reboot.

In a post on his blog, Peter Laird wrote:

“My only exposure to Megan Fox as an actress is through her role in two Transformers movies and the wretched (but happily forgettable) Jennifer’s Body. It may not be fair to judge her range of acting skills just from those three movies, but I think it is safe to say that there are probably hundreds of better choices for the role of April O’Neil. Of course, her name has promotional value, and maybe that’s what they want. Who knows? I can’t get myself too worked up about it.”

Michael Bay's Ninja Turtles Back on Track?

It’s been a long and arduous road for Michael Bay‘s reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but now it sounds like production may only be a few months out.

According to a tweet from Production Weekly, “Principle photography on TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, is scheduled to begin this April in New York.” Of course, it is important to note that this news has not yet been confirmed by Bay or the production, but PW is typically reliable.

Paramount shut down pre-production on Ninja Turtles last year, citing script problems as the primary reason. The project had already been criticized by fans for changing the nature of the turtles’ origin story and reportedly making them aliens. However, it remains to be seen how much has changed since the rewrite.
