Where Will the Fantastic Four Reboot Film?

It’s clobberin’ time on the bayou.

TheWrap reports that Fox’s reboot of The Fantastic Four will shoot in Louisiana rather than the originally planned location of Vancouver, where past Marvel-Fox films have been shot.

You can thank Louisiana’s tax incentive program for why big budget flicks such as the Fantastic Four reboot, Pirates of the Caribbean 5, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes are shooting there.

Why We Won't See A Gay Spider-Man Anytime Soon

By Scott Mendelson, Contributor

Andrew Garfield made headlines last week by mentioning in an interview that he A) wanted the chance to play Peter Parker as bisexual in the ongoing Amazing Spider-Man franchise and B) wanted “MJ” to be a guy, played by someone along the lines of Michael B. Jordan (currently starring in Fruitvale Station and in the running to play Johnny Storm  in the next Fantastic Four reboot).  There is irony with Garfield attempting to take the character in a more socially progressive arena if you remember the whole Donald Glover situation (African-American Glover famously argued that he should at least be allowed to audition for the nominally white role of Peter Parker). But Garfield’s heart, as well as his desire as an actor to explore, is in the right place.  It’s also an outright fantasy that will never actually occur. …read more

Ninja Turtles Star Also Up for Fantastic Four?

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Noel Fisher (Shameless, Battle Los Angeles) will play Michelangelo in Michael Bay‘s upcoming Ninja Turtles flick. Now, it sounds like the actor could be up for another comic book movie role, this time for Fox’s Fantastic Four Reborn.

X-Men's Matthew Vaughn to Produce FF Reboot

Mark Millar, comics scribe and overseer of all things Marvel for Fox these days, has just revealed on Twitter that none other than X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn is joining the studio’s Fantastic Four reboot as a producer. Here’s the full text of the tweet:

“Just off the phone with Fox and some excellent newsMatthew Vaughn is producing Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot!”

Surely we have to look at this as good news for the Fantastic Four project, considering how successful First Class was. It’s also an interesting development when one considers that Vaughn dropped out of the X-Men sequel Days of Future Past back in October (only to be replaced by original X-director Bryan Singer). It would seem that there’s no ill will between parties after that decision, and really, if Fox is looking to build a “cohesive universe” like Marvel Studios has with their superhero films, they could definitely use a talent like Vaughn to help steer that vision.

FF Reboot: Stuff You've Never Seen Before

It sounds like Chronicle director Josh Trank and Fox’s superhero-movie overseer Mark Millar have been hard at work prepping for Fantastic Four Reborn.

In a recent interview with SciFi Now, Millar discussed how excited he is for Trank’s fresh spin on the franchise. “From what I’ve seen and from talking to

,” Millar began, “he and I have had dinner a couple of times and we talk quite regularly as well — he’s contemporarising it. I think he’s just making it work for the screen — he’s a great storyteller.

“Chronicle, if you think about it, was similar to Fantastic Four in that it was a bunch of people who were transformed into something more than human — that turned out almost his calling card to come and do something like Fantastic Four,” he said.
