Poll: Most Latino Voters Oppose Immigration Reform Without A Path To Citizenship

Latino voters disapprove of potential House GOP plans to address immigration issues without creating a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, according to a Latino Decisions poll released Wednesday.
The survey, from Latino Decisions and the advocacy group America’s Voice, found stronger support for the immigration reform principles put forward by the bipartisan “gang of eight” in the Senate and Democrats in the House: a path to citizenship along with enhanced border security, employment verification and requirements that undocumented immigrants study English, pass a background check and pay a fine before becoming legal residents. Seventy-seven percent of Latino voters supported such a plan.
About two-thirds of Latino voters also said they approve of the Democratic Party’s insistence that reform include a path to citizenship.

“Brother Roger” And The Racial Agitators
When conservatives complain about Al Sharpton, they usually note his relationship to NBC news or his hosting a show on MSNBC. But a new book says the racial agitator and Democratic Party politician has considerable clout with Fox News, and in fact played a role in getting conservative Glenn Beck fired from the channel.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson says “people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton do not deserve to be called civil rights leaders. They are not. They are hustlers and pimps who make a living off inflaming racial tensions.”
However, The Zev Chafets book, Roger Ailes: Off Camera, has some revealing passages about the clout that Sharpton and Jackson have with the chairman and CEO of Fox News. It says Ailes took a phone call from Sharpton after Beck, then a Fox News host, staged a rally at the Lincoln Memorial 47 years to the day after Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his “I have a dream” speech at the same location. Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally, designed to pay tribute to America’s military personnel and restore traditional values, was strongly attacked by figures such as Sharpton and George Soros-funded groups like Media Matters, then campaigning to have Beck fired from Fox News.
Chafets says Reverend Alveda King, a national pro-life leader, delivered a conservative “I have a dream” message of her own at the Beck-sponsored rally that was “infuriating to many viewers” and Ailes as well. “Ailes didn’t like it much, either,” he reports. However, the book doesn’t explain why Ailes took issue with the rally or the speech.
The book adds, “When Al Sharpton called him [Ailes] to complain, Sharpton was surprised to hear Ailes say he would ‘take care’ of it.” The passage is included in the context of Ailes making a decision that “he would have to get rid of Glenn Beck” and telling Howard Kurtz, then a media reporter with The Daily Beast, that “he was turning down the partisan heat at the network” and was pursuing “a more moderate tone” in programming.
Kurtz, who was recently hired by Fox News, is described by Michael Clemente, Fox’s executive vice president of news, as “the most accomplished media reporter in the country,” despite a series of embarrassments over erroneous and controversial columns and media appearances that resulted in his firing from The Daily Beast.
While the Chafets book is considered sympathetic to the chief of the Fox News Channel, it notes that Beck’s firing followed his strong criticism of billionaire George Soros and a vigorous campaign by various left-wing groups against him.
Chafets also points out that then-Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), another liberal recently hired as a Fox News commentator, is a member of the “roster of Friends of Roger” and an old “buddy” of Ailes.
Accuracy in Media chairman Don Irvine noted that Kucinich was “one of the most liberal members of Congress until he lost his seat after redistricting in 2012,” and that he was “the latest in a string of liberals at Fox, including former Sen. …read more
Italian senator compares black minister to orangutan
A senator from Italy’s anti-immigration Northern League has come under fire for saying Cecile Kyenge, the country’s first black minister, resembles an orangutan.
Prime Minister Enrico Letta said the remark by Senator Roberto Calderoli on Saturday was “unacceptable”.
“I love animals… but when I see pictures of Kyenge, I cannot help thinking of similarities with an orangutan,” he was quoted as saying at a party meeting in the northern city of Treviglio.
The remark went viral in social media, sparking widespread denunciation.
Letta said in a communique Sunday: “The words reported today in the press attributed to Senator Calderoli regarding Cecile Kyenge are unacceptable and go beyond all limits.”
Khalid Chaouki and Gianni Cuperlo, two lawmakers from the centre-left Democratic Party, demanded the resignation of Calderoni, who is deputy speaker of the Senate.
“The remarks addressed to Minister Kyenge are not worthy of a man who represents our institutions,” Cuperlo said.
Calderoli is famous for his provocative comments and actions. In 2006, he was forced to resign from the government of then prime minister Silvio Berlusconi after wearing a T-shirt printed with cartoons mocking the prophet Mohammed.
Since the Democratic Republic of Congo-born Kyenge took up her post as integration minister earlier this year she has faced numerous expressions of hostility from the Northern League, which is allied with Berlusconi’s centre-right People of Freedom party but is now in opposition.
She has been the subject of verbal slurs and death threats posted on racist social media sites and even on her own Facebook page.

Napolitano mulls Italy government as he takes oath
President Giorgio Napolitano begins his unprecedented second term with the daunting task of trying to find a candidate who can form a government two months after national elections left Italy with no clear winner and an increasingly discredited political class.
The 87-year-old Napolitano takes his oath of office later Monday and is expected to address the nation about plans to bring recession-mired Italy out of its political paralysis and the euro-zone’s third-largest economy back on the path of financial reforms and growth.
He was re-elected Saturday after politicians failed to find a new candidate who could carry a majority of Parliament and regional voters. The divisive process resulted in the implosion of the center-left Democratic Party and the galvanizing of the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement.

Boston Globe Endorses Ed Markey Over Stephen Lynch In Massachusetts Senate Race

Rep. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) received a big boost Sunday morning in his bid to fill Secretary of State John Kerry’s U.S. Senate seat.
The Boston Globe has made its choice for the Democratic Party nominee, releasing an editorial endorsing Markey over Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.). The newspaper wrote that “the achievement gap between Markey and Lynch is vast” but Markey has “delivered more for the people of Massachusetts.”
Lynch will have an immediate opportunity to prove otherwise, with a debate against Markey scheduled for this Tuesday in Springfield, Mass. The event was postponed due to the Boston Marathon bombings.

Gosnell Trial Proves Massive Media Malpractice
Doesn’t it matter to pro-abortion Americans that medical research proves and doctors testify that viable babies suffer tremendous pain when their necks or spinal cords are slit?
Did you ever think the media in America would get to the point where details, facts, and news about one of the most horrific killing sprees in recent history would be covered-up, minimized, or omitted altogether?
Here are just a few of the disturbing facts about Gosnell and his killing clinic:
· The remains of 45 babies were found by authorities at the Philly clinic.
· Gosnell preyed mostly on poor and minority women.
· Flea-ridden cats defecated freely, including in procedure rooms.
· One 41 year-old victim of a botched abortion, Karnamaya Mongar, died because the clinic was so crammed with junk that it took paramedics 20 minutes just to find their way out.
· Gosnell collected baby feet in jars.
The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell has cemented forever the fact that the pro-choice media has chosen ideology and politics over journalism and doing their job.
By now, most Americans have witnessed the media’s blatant disregard for the truth. Many liberals in the media even admit they didn’t want to report on the Gosnell horror story because they felt it would hinder progress for abortion rights. It’s been well established, documented, and proven that the majority of both local and elite media have a liberal, progressive worldview.
This is not exactly a newsflash. Earlier this year, I began a series on media bias and began with research showing their complete lack of fair reporting on the abortion issue:
Approximately 83% of Americans feel that abortion should have some restrictions placed on it by law, but only 3% of media elites do. Translation: the media often believe or support the exact opposite of the majority of citizens to whom they report the news.
We should now take it a step further and look at the primary reasons for their bias. Journalism’s first obligation is to tell the truth, and its first loyalty is to citizens. The fact is, the media is not interested in the whole truth if it doesn’t fit their narrative; and their loyalty and allegiance is to their political party, not to the people they supposedly serve and inform.
Most mainstream media outlets are operated by pro-choice liberals, and a so-called ‘journalist’ is surrounded by coworkers loyal to the left. In addition, most would rather obey their liberal bosses instead of report the news fairly and honestly.
As children progress though government-controlled public schools, most get plenty of indoctrination from teachers who are loyal to their union, the government, and the Democratic Party. Naturally, kids end up repeating liberal talking points, even if they don’t know why they believe what they say they believe.
Due to heavy influence and pressure from peers, culture, and those in authority, most of these young people end up supporting abortion. For those who choose journalism and go to college, they receive one-sided instruction from progressive professors. As a

An Eagle Scout’s Take On The Current Boy Scout Controversy

Yesterday, Western Journalism linked to an article about the controversy over allowing openly gay boys into the Boy Scouts of America controversy.
It looks like after relentless pressure, the Boy Scouts are caving into the homosexual agenda (which as I will explain later has nothing to do with homosexuality per se.)
This just might be the last straw for me…
First, some background. From 1998 until 2004, I was a proud member of BSA Troop 199 in Oldwick, New Jersey. I made a lot of friends and even acquired a few mentors during my time in the scouts. One of my proudest accomplishments in my 26 years was attaining the rank of Eagle Scout in October 2004. I remember the ceremony as if it was just yesterday. It was a lot of hard work, but it was more than worth it.
I am still in touch with several of my fellow Eagle Scouts (some of whom just might be reading this right now!) And man do we have a strong opinion on what is happening to the program we were privileged to be a part of during our teenage years.
I do know some “scout dads” who will cease any involvement, current or former, with the Boy Scouts should they yield to the gay lobby.
I should also mention (proudly) that I am a theologically and culturally conservative Christian who after attending a more moderate church for 15 years was saved earlier this year after attending an Independent Baptist church for two weeks. I am proud to call Sun Valley Baptist Church in Anthem, Arizona my new home church.
The reason why I am specific in terms of what kind of Christian I am is because sadly, a LOT of Christianity has been watered down in America. Whole denominations are indifferent to traditional marriage, “social justice,” the increasing usurpation of our God-given liberties under multiple recent administrations, and even abortion.
When it comes to marriage, I subscribe strictly to its biblical definition. (To some people, that makes me a “bigot,” an accusation I will proudly wear with a badge of honor.) Why, you may ask? Because God did not create Adam and Steve, nor Alice and Eve. He created Adam and Eve. End of story.
I believe that Christians are to hate sin while at the same time loving the sinner. It is not gays themselves I am opposed to. It is the gay lifestyle, which is shamelessly promoted on television, Hollywood, the rest of the media, and the Democratic Party (this should not suggest that I am any fan of the Republican Party, FYI.) It is specifically promoted as a “normal” lifestyle, which just simply is not true to the many of us Christians who read the Bible for ourselves.
It is not the job of Christians to call them names (i.e. “perverts”, “queers”, or worse.) Unfortunately, some Christians will distract fellow church-goers from the fact that they are sinners by just demonizing gays (or immigrants or Muslims) all the time. These Christians should know better as

If There Is No God – Part II

Ultimately, if religion is merely a creation of man, and religion itself is evil, what does that say about man? And why has God all of a sudden become expendable? He has always had a prominent place in our hearts and in our society. God wasn’t a problem for two centuries; but now the Democratic Party has gone agnostic, and the Republican party is split.
Let’s say, hypothetically, that the GOP excommunicates God (and the Republican secularists lose their ‘Scapegoat’) – what’s the platform? What makes the GOP a winning ticket?
Whether man wants to hide behind religion, big government, progressivism, or secularism – we’re imploding! As far as ideology goes, no matter what our espoused affiliation, we’ve all contributed to the mess. None of us are innocent – there’s plenty of blame to go around!
In the end, we must blame the depraved, morally bankrupt, self-destructive tendencies of MAN for our demise. Atheists who claim that man is responsible for creating religion are forced to come to the same conclusion.
The Constitution may have proven to be an essential tool in keeping religious tyranny from reigning. But we’re swiftly headed in the other direction towards Communism, which is a religion in and of itself, in which the government is our god (and applies complete control over us).
Religion should not be used as a means of control; it should serve a greater purpose. I never considered Emperor Constantine (or any other political-religious leader for that matter) having pure intentions – but at least he stopped the persecution of Christians.
Absolute power and authority in the hands of men is bad, no matter the ideology/affiliation. The Christians I know don’t want theocracy, despite the obnoxious claims perpetuated by the New Atheists.
In fact, I pointedly asked Dave:
“Why the bias, the law suits, and the hard cultural atheism? This is a new phenomenon!”
To Dave’s credit, he took a sincere stab at addressing the question:
I think the vitriol came initially after the war on terror and the atrocities – largely from Muslims – that occurred . However they (atheists) were uncomfortable associating with Christians who were also appalled by the jihadists. I think you saw people like Richard Dawkins and Bill Maher tending to be more critical of Christians (Christians don’t threaten to cut off your head, at least not anymore) because it was an easier target- other atheists used it as an opportunity to point out the hypocrisy they saw in all religions . Truthfully, many atheists now see religion on the decline and want to speed it’s demise.
In response, I affirmed that demise of religion will not fix the problem! This is not a religion problem but a human nature problem. Take away religion, and you still have the man.
If you look at the atrocities perpetuated in heathen lands and godless, secular societies led by cruel dictators (i.e. Stalin, Hitler, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot, etc.) throughout history, the root of the evil is apparent!

Iraq's Kurds to hold local elections in September
Iraqi Kurds will elect a new parliament and president for their oil-rich, self-ruled region on Sept. 21.
A government statement issued on Thursday says Masoud Barzani, the president of the Kurdish region, approved the date and called for transparent elections.
The vote for a new 111-seat National Assembly will be the third election in the three-province region since 2005.
Following the U.S.-led invasion that toppled Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, the Kurdish area was recognized as an autonomous region that is in many ways politically independent from Baghdad.
Since then, the two main Kurdish parties — the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Democratic Party of Kurdistan — have joined forces to rule the region.

Charlie Wilson Dead: Former Ohio Congressman Dies At Age 70

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former U.S. Rep. Charlie Wilson, a Democrat who represented eastern Ohio in Washington for two terms after winning a write-in campaign, died Sunday in a Florida hospital, the Ohio Democratic Party announced. He was 70.
Wilson had suffered a stroke in February while vacationing with his family and was recovering at a rehabilitation center, Democratic Party officials said. He fell ill Saturday night and was admitted to a hospital in Boynton Beach, where he died at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday with his family by his side, the officials said.

Exposed: Hawaii’s Communist Past
Americans don’t have a lot of information about Hawaii, other than the Hawaiian Ice and the presidential windsurfing.
It was easier for Obama to run his campaign out of Chicago, where none of Hawaii’s communist past could haunt his campaign.
Hawaii may have been a US territory, but Moscow controlled the labor. When Hitler invaded the Soviet Union, Moscow placed a call to their Hawaiian operatives and told them to knock it until after the war.
We have Jack Kawano to thank for that piece of information. Jack Kawano was a member of the Longshoremen’s Union and joined the Communist Party of Hawaii in 1930. He helped organize the sugar plantation workers and rose up through the ranks to become President of the Longshoremen’s Union, Local 136.
Communist organizers from the mainland recognized his leadership abilities and invited him to join the “Traveler’s Club”, the communist underground.
It all came to an abrupt end when communist insurgents staged a revolution in 1949, holding the Hawaiian Islands in a state of siege for 177 days.
Kawano was so shaken by the violence that he offered to tell his story to the House Un-American Activities Committee.
He repeated his testimony in an interview with Richard English for the “Saturday Evening Post”, dated Feb. 2, 1952 in an titled “We Almost Lost Hawaii To The Reds.” If you can find a copy, it’s worth the read.
Kawano’s testimony shattered the Communist Party. He described his meetings with his communist advisors as “professional guys and teachers from the University of Hawaii”. They explained the theory of communism, by breaking a twig. Then they tied a dozen twigs together and explained that if the twigs work together, it’s impossible to break.
It’s a weak argument. All the twigs eventually go down in flames. In communism, the little guy does all the dirty work.
The bombshell came when Kawano revealed a plan to take over the leadership of the Democratic Party, which they called “unorganized and weak.” They planned to take over the Republican Party later on. Seems a little prophetic, doesn’t it?
Jack Kawano was one of forty-one communist delegates who attended the territorial convention of the Democratic Party in Hawaii.
Kawano described his trip to San Francisco for special indoctrination at party headquarters.
Kawano listened to lectures on communism for six weeks, describing the school as “mostly students from California, and one Mexican.”
He attended classes in Marxism, propaganda, and training in how to agitate the police. And finally, he was forced to listen to the complete history of the American labor movement and the Communist Party.
I’m surprised they didn’t die of boredom. I guess we should remember that the lectures were probably written by some intellectual genius from Berkeley.
And who needs training on how to agitate the police? I’ll just remind everyone that the students at UC Davis were pepper-sprayed in the face, and then they filed complaints against the university police. Still up to the same old tricks.
This gives us a much different picture of Barack Obama and makes the leadership of the Democratic Party

Loyal To The Left, Jim Wallis Supports Gay Marriage
In June of 2010, Reverend Jim Wallis was asked if he believed abortion and homosexuality were sins. Christian radio station GM Mike Le May got the answer loud and clear: Wallis shouted at him, called him a “right-wing Kool-Aid drinking Glen Beck follower,” and hung up the phone. I documented the divisive controversy that led to this exchange in my book, ERADICATE, in a chapter on social justice and the Bible.
On Monday, Wallis – being faithful to the Democratic Party platform – openly admitted to supporting same-sex marriage. Not surprisingly, a spokesperson for Wallis’ Sojourners magazine could not say whether or not Wallis believes homosexuality is a sin.
Appointed by President Obama to his White House faith council, some say Wallis is a progressive evangelical because his primary support is from leftists.
In 2011, it was revealed by investigative journalists that Wallis’ Sojourners magazine received hundreds of thousands of dollars from radical socialist George Soros. Why would an anti-American financier like Soros give large grants to Sojourners?
Jim Wallis first denied the Soros connection, saying, “No, we don’t receive money from George Soros… Our money comes from Christians who support us and who read Sojourners.”
Soros is a corrupt billionaire from Hungary aiming to destroy America’s Christian ideals and freedoms that made us a great nation. His hatred for America fuels the financing (over $52 million) of left-wing media outlets and groups, including those promoting abortion, atheism, homosexual activism, socialism, and government expansion. It’s no wonder Jim Wallis tried to hide the truth.
George Soros is working to destroy America’s system of capitalism; this connection between Wallis and Soros should not be ignored.
On their website, Sojourners quotes people like Gandhi, the Dalai Lama, and new age leader Marianne Williamson and emphasizes social justice, environmental activism, diversity, and amnesty for illegal immigrants.
Wallis seems to look at the Bible in light of the world around him rather than looking at the world in light of God’s Word. From his White House platform, Wallis attacks Republicans while calling himself a “nonpartisan evangelical minister” and is very popular among liberals who routinely vilify Christians for their involvement in political issues.
As more Christians become influenced by liberation theology, finding themselves increasingly rejecting the values of institutions of capitalism, they will also be drawn to the Marxist analysis and praxis that is so central to the social justice movement.
Early in his career, Wallis founded an anti-capitalist magazine called the Post-American, which identified wealth redistribution and government-managed economies as the keys to achieving social justice. He changed the name to Sojourners in the early 1970s. During his college years at Michigan State, Wallis joined the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), a radical organization that aspired to overthrow America’s institutions. Wallis remains opposed to the free market system in America.
Over the years, Jim Wallis has been pro-Vietcong and actually celebrated America’s defeat in Vietnam, stating:

Democrat Who Fingered Progress Kentucky For McConnell Taping Was Trying To ‘Protect’ The Party

Earlier Thursday, Jefferson County Democratic Party official Jacob Conway came forward to reporters at WPFL News in Louisville, Ky., to allege that “Shawn Reilly and Curtis Morrison, who founded and volunteered for Progress Kentucky, respectively, bragged to him about how they recorded” the strategy meeting at which advisers to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) had discussed the opposition research they’d piled up against actress Ashley Judd, who had, for a time, mulled mounting a campaign against McConnell. This recording made its way to David Corn at Mother Jones, who then made it publicly available. McConnell has since repeatedly contended that the recording was obtained through illegal subterfuge and hinted at the possibility that Progress Kentucky, a liberal super PAC, might be behind it.
Conway has also appeared on Fox News, where he explained that he made his public allegations against Reilly and Morrison because he saw the McConnell recording as potentially damaging to the Democratic Party. Via TPM:
“The only reason that I came forward with what I knew was I was trying to protect the Democratic Party,” Conway said. “I believe in our party’s values, and I was doing what I thought was best for the party because I did not want their bad behavior, their poor mistakes — I shouldn’t say ‘bad behavior’ — their mistakes, their lack of judgment to hurt our party’s efforts here in the state of Kentucky and in Jefferson County, here in Louisville.”

‘Missing In Action’: Congress Ignores America’s Poverty Crisis

WASHINGTON — At a time when Republicans on Capitol Hill are expressing outrage over canceled White House tours, something more deserving of outrage is taking place: tens of millions of the nation’s most vulnerable are taking hits on all sides. The nation’s poverty rate is frozen at a high of 15 percent. And lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, for the most part, aren’t even talking about it.
“Missing in action,” Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio), the chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus, said of Congress’ record on poverty.
It has been a topic of discussion among Washington lawmakers in fleeting moments. Language about making poverty a national priority found its way into the Democratic Party platform last year and into President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address in February. Democrats tucked a line into their budget proposals this year calling for a strategy to cut poverty in half in 10 years.

Gay Propaganda Campaign Takes Offensive Turn
Offending the moral sensibilities of millions of Americans, Time Magazine is featuring cover stories showing two white homosexual couples kissing. The Right Scoop blog ran a “censored version of the offensive covers.”
John Aravosis, the homosexual activist who runs Americablog.com, said this is part of a propaganda campaign to normalize homosexuality. He said, “The kiss has been quite a powerful political weapon in the gay arsenal for a while now. And checking our archives, it’s rather amazing how important the ‘gay kiss’ has been to our political struggle over the years.”
The purpose is to desensitize people to homosexuality and increase acceptance of the lifestyle.
Media bias is also evident in the influence of the media-funded National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA).
The NLGJA says coverage of the homosexual marriage debate before the Supreme Court was “balanced—supportive even” and that program hosts “felt compelled to disagree with them [opponents of homosexual marriage] on air.”
We noted the media’s failure to cover the March for Marriage in Washington, D.C.
On the Time cover photos, the NLGJA said, “The black-and-white photos are an interesting, provocative selection. The magazine didn’t opt for family photos of smiling, nonthreatening gay and lesbian families and their kids: It went for the part of same-sex marriage that may be most off-putting to mainstream cultures. The kissing, the sexuality. It’s a bold choice for a mainstream publication to make.”
Regarding the story itself, the NLGJA said it “was largely positive, save for a colorful sentence about AIDS and bathhouses.”
The offensive phrase was that the deadly disease AIDS was “burning outward from the bathhouses…” These are places where anonymous gay sex is common. Homosexuals are determined to keep coverage of the health hazards of homosexuality out of mainstream media.
On his Reliable Sources program, supposedly devoted to media criticism, host Howard Kurtz featured two homosexual rights supporters, John Aravosis and Jennifer Rubin, who writes “The Right Turn” blog for The Washington Post.
Nevertheless, he noted the bias in the coverage, explaining that “Liberal commentators are thrilled that the marriage debate is swinging their way, at least in the court of public opinion, while many conservative pundits were muted or surprisingly supportive.” He cited Bill O’Reilly of Fox News declaring that “The compelling argument is on the side of homosexuals,” and dismissing opponents as Bible-thumpers.
The latter was apparently a reference to the Christian teaching that marriage involves a man and a woman and that homosexuality is prohibited in the Bible because it is unnatural and sinful.
Rush Limbaugh countered: “So how many of you who watch Fox are Bible thumpers? Do you think there are any Bible thumpers, quote/unquote, that watch Fox? Because last night you were sort of marginalized on [O’Reilly’s show] The Factor as not having a compelling argument and just being a bunch of Bible thumpers.”
Limbaugh also noted the influence of the “Gay Mafia,” which he described as “the activist homosexual lobby” contributing “big bucks” to the Democratic Party and leading the campaign for homosexual marriage.

Why Ashley Judd Flipped Against Run For Senate

WASHINGTON — Former Sen. Wendell H. Ford is 88 years old, but still in full possession not only of his faculties but also of his role as the godfather of the Democratic Party in Kentucky. His conversation earlier this year with Ashley Judd may, in the end, have helped change the actress’s mind about running for the U.S. Senate in 2014.
Judd had told at least three political allies in Kentucky that she was planning to run, The Huffington Post reported earlier this month. After that story appeared, she issued no denial. In fact, Judd’s spokesperson claimed that she was receiving steady expressions of support from voters.
But Judd had also discussed with Ford, the state’s former governor, her fast-developing plan to seek the Democratic nomination to oppose incumbent Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell.

Obamavote: Healthcare Application Registers Voters, Too
The 61-page online Obamacare draft application for health care includes asking if the applicant wants to register to vote, raising the specter that pro-Obama groups being tapped to help Americans sign up for the program will also steer them to register with the Democratic Party.
On page 59, after numerous questions about the applicant’s identity and qualification for Obamacare, comes the question: “Would you like to register to vote?” The placement of the question could lead some to believe they have to register to vote to get health care.
In the introduction of the document, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services declare: “This document-the ‘questionnaire’-represents each possible item that may need to be asked for successful eligibility determinations.”
In a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius Monday, Rep. Charles Boustany Jr., chair of the House Ways and Means Oversight subcommittee, said HHS is overstepping its bounds by a mile.
“The draft documents wander into areas outside the department’s purview and links applications for health insurance subsidies to voter registration,” he wrote in the letter provided to Secrets. “The position of the question could lead some to think voter registration is somehow tied to subsidy eligibility,” he added.
