President Obama Congratulates NCAA Champion UConn Huskies: "One Of The Great Sports Dynasties Of Our Time"

Today in the East Room, President Obama honored the 2013 NCAA Division I women's basketball champion UConn Huskies as a part of his commitment to celebrate sports teams that inspire their communities on and off the court.

The trip was a familiar one for the Huskies, who won the tournament and visits to the White House in 2009 and 2010. President Obama joked that eight-time NCAA champion UConn Coach Geno Auriemma “spent more time than some Presidents in the White House.”

While the Huskies have a new trophy to tout, President Obama called attention to their positive impact on those around them.

The 10 Most Expensive Games On The 2013 NFL Schedule

While the 2013 NFL is still over a month away, fans and sellers have already voted with their wallets on the most compelling games of the season. With only eight home-games each season, NFL tickets are always the most expensive of all the major sports leagues. Across the league, the average price for an NFL home game is $186 on the resale market. At the high end, the Chicago Bears have an average price of $446, while the Browns have the lowest price at $109. While those prices are already expensive, when you add in key divisional match-ups, as well as legends and future stars with names like Manning, RGIII, Brady, and Wilson, ticket prices move to another level. …read more
