Video: New Jersey Bans Tanning For Teenagers
By NewsEditor
Patricia Krentcil, the now infamous “tanning mom” arrested last year for sun-burning her own daughter, gained a lot of media attention at the time. Now New Jersey officials are paying attention as well: NJ Governor Chris Christie has signed a bill that bans children under the age of 17 from using tanning beds without a parent or guardian present.
Allen West Won’t Help Expose Obama’s Ineligibility
By Carl Gallups
Following is my account of what happened with Lt. Col. Allen West at CPAC. (MAKE CERTAIN you see the hypocrisy, in light of this article, which appears on Col. West’s website below!)
Lt. Mike Zullo and I spoke to Allen West the first night on the evening before CPAC. We were at dinner and Col. West walked right by our table. He had a small group with him. He stopped to talk to someone at the table next to us. After he finished, we introduced ourselves. He said he knew of the Arpaio investigation and Lt. Zullo and would be glad to meet with us for a few moments to discuss the evidence we had. His secretary, who was with him, gave us an email and told us to remind her and she would set an appointment time. We sent the email. The appointment from Col. West’s office was never made.By the next evening we had still not heard back from him. That night, I approached him at a CPAC VIP dinner. He was preparing to be seated just a few tables from us. I politely reminded him of his promise to us. I told him that we had not heard from him yet. He told me that we should “stop by his display table tomorrow.” I felt then that he had no intention of meeting us privately. The next day, Lt. Zullo was able to find Col. West in the crowd. Lt. Zullo asked Col. West to give him five minutes of his time. Col. West gave it to him. Lt. Zullo told him of the 100% solid evidence he had of a forged and fabricated document and the legal ramifications and possible national security issues of the matter. The bottom line of that conversation was that West told Lt. Zullo (after hearing and acknowledging the evidence of the case) that he couldn’t get involved in it because he might have future political aspirations – he couldn’t afford to be associated with the case. Lt. Zullo assured him this was NOT a birther issue – this was a proven criminal forgery and fabrication of identifying document issue. He assured Col. West that he would be backed up by a full and professional criminal investigation. Lt. Zullo asked Col. West if he could at least help us to open other doors with other VIPS. Col. West reaffirmed that he had no interest in helping us.I still hold out hope that Col. West might jump on board if this thing goes public in the near future. We have …read more

Rand Paul: Marijuana Use Is Not Something To ‘Promote,’ But ‘It’s A Big Mistake’ To Jail People Over It
By The Huffington Post News Editors
Riding the high of his win in last week’s CPAC straw poll, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) addressed a different kind of high on Sunday.
In an interview with Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace, Paul was asked why he advocates for more lenient marijuana laws.
“I don’t want to promote that but I also don’t want to put people in jail who make a mistake,” Paul explained. “There are a lot of young people who do this and then later on in their twenties they grow up and get married and they quit doing things like this. I don’t want to put them in jail and ruin their lives.”
7 Reasons Republicans Should Love Comprehensive Immigration Reform (SLIDESHOW)
By The Huffington Post News Editors
Republican senator Rand Paul is embracing a pathway to citizenship. A panel at CPAC last week eschewed the term “illegal immigrant” in favor of “undocumented.” The Republican National Committee recommended the GOP push for comprehensive immigration reform.
It’s a far cry from the hard-fought GOP primary, when presidential hopefuls competed to paint themselves as the toughest immigration hawks in the room. The strategy played poorly among Latino voters, 71 percent of whom backed President Barack Obama.

Arizona GOP Happy With Message To Latinos, Rejects Changing Approach To Immigration (SLIDESHOW)
By The Huffington Post News Editors
After a few days of speeches at CPAC, one of the largest annual gatherings of conservatives, the Republican National Committee urged the party to embrace comprehensive immigration reform and throw down $10 million on minority outreach to help win back Latino voters they’ve alienated in recent years.
But the Arizona GOP is going to stick to its guns.
Conservative leaders in the state that pioneered the tactic of wrenching control over immigration policy from the federal government say there’s no need to change their message to reach out to Hispanics, the Yuma Sun reports.

White Male Disenfranchisement Debated At CPAC 2013
By capblack
Presenter K Carl Smith’s “Trump The Race Card” session at CPAC Friday had an audience member who posed the following question:
“Why can’t we be more like Booker T. Washington Republicans, and his famous statement: Let’s be unified like the hand but separate like the fingers?”
Mr. Smith responded by citing Frederick Douglass’ letter to his former slave-master, where he forgave him.
Undeterred, the questioner replied: “For giving him food and shelter all those years?”
I chuckle at this statement while recalling how Douglass fought his slave-master for two hours to win his freedom.
Later identified as Scott Terry of North Carolina, the 30 year old unveiled the elephant in the room at such conservative inclusion functions: White male disenfranchisement.
He’s also a member of the White Student Union at Towson University- not a big deal to me since I’m not an “Integration mad Negro” to quote Malcolm X.
White folks choosing to promote themselves the way American Blacks have (“Black Student Unions”, etc.) don’t disturb me in the least.
People are free to associate as broadly or narrowly as they choose.
Here’s the video of this historic CPAC discussion:
The issue is whether adding more American Blacks to the GOP is, in effect, discriminatory.
At first glance, it’s ironic “given Frederick Douglas Republicans’” stated purpose of disarming liberal racism cries.
K. Carl Smith’s work is as much about arming American Whites against progressive bigotry claims as it is bringing more Blacks into the GOP.
Very ironic such a question would arise.
I’m a Frederick Douglas Republican because it allows Americans who champion traditional values to do so free from the encumbrances of outdated racial roles.
Its impetus isn’t White guilt nor Black rage- it’s a colorblind consensus using one man’s story that speaks to all Americans.
This young man should note the solid backbone of the GOP in the former Dixie is White Southerners like himself.
He should further note the same holds true for Tea parties in this region.
White male disenfranchisement is a real concern, but hardly within the ranks of the Republican Party and Tea Party movements.
I do concede that desperate grabs for Latino and gay voters make a lot of folks wonder whether conservative White males will be replaced should such efforts succeed.
Casting his gaze toward the White House should have resulted in seeing where real disenfranchisers of white conservative males gather.
Progressives of all colors in this administration seem hellbent on dismantling the very heritage this young man holds dear.
His choice is clear: unite with Americans who may not resemble him to save a religious ethic, constitutional framework, and market that benefits all; or lose everything against a Left that is unified and unyielding!
Presenter K. Carl Smith and questioner Scott Terry privately spoke after the proverbial smoke cleared.
Terry even bought a copy of Smith’s seminal book “Frederick Douglas Republicans.”
From such bumpy starts are coalitions built.
I close with the words of Mrs. Lynne Roberts, Frederick Douglass Republicans’ director of educational outreach:
The Frederick Douglass Republican message of Americans voting our common values, not a party, is SO powerful that it it strikes fear into …read more

CPAC attendee: "Why can’t we just have segregation?"
By hnn
NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — A panel at the Conservative Political Action Committee on Republican minority outreach exploded into controversy on Friday afternoon, after an audience member defended slavery as good for African-Americans.
The exchange occurred after an audience member from North Carolina, 30-year-old Scott Terry, asked whether Republicans could endorse races remaining separate but equal. After the presenter, K. Carl Smith of Frederick Douglass Republicans, answered by referencing a letter by Frederick Douglass forgiving his former master, the audience member said “For what? For feeding him and housing him?” Several people in the audience cheered and applauded Terry’s outburst.
After the exchange, Terry muttered under his breath, “why can’t we just have segregation?” noting the Constitution’s protections for freedom of association. …

Chris Christie Finally Gets Some Love From CPAC [VIDEO]
By The Huffington Post News Editors
Well, CPAC has come and by now, gone. Time to patch things up, maybe, with the famously snubbed Chris Christie? Well, he didn’t win the CPAC straw poll — there, enough people stood with Rand Paul to hold off young fresh fellow Marco Rubio for the honor. But Christie did finish in a respectable fourth place — just pipped for the bronze by Rick Santorum, who was invited and gave a speech that went over like gangbusters with the assembled.
But now that CPAC is over, is it time for Christie to return to the GOP fold. NowThisNews’ Sara Kenigsberg worked the crowd all weekend, and the people she talked to were very postively disposed toward the New Jersey governor — though former Florida Congressman Allen West did feel obligated to play nutritionist.
All told, something tells me that Christie being left uninvited to CPAC is going to be a one-time thing.

Steven Crowder: ‘What Is This Obsession With Ashley Judd And Rape?’
By The Huffington Post News Editors
Steven Crowder, a Fox News contributor who hosted part of Saturday’s activities at the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference, made a questionable remark about actress and possible Kentucky Senate candidate Ashley Judd.
“What is this obsession with Ashley Judd and rape?” Crowder asked while joking about Judd and Apple products. “It’s pretty unnerving.”

Mitt Was A Hit At CPAC 2013
By capblack
Mitt Romney’s CPAC speech Friday showed America and the world what it had lost last election cycle: a class act with a talent for managing difficult financial propositions and cultural conundrums.
A Romney presidency would have sent a much-needed signal to the wealthy that hording dollars against wealth redistribution is no longer necessary.
Trust-fund babies and job producers are favorite targets of the Left; but at day’s end, they provide employment and contracts to workers and small businesspersons.
A Romney presidency wouldn’t have had a magic wand up its sleeve but would have offered the marketplace a chief executive whom it could trust not to gut in the name of “fairness.”
He didn’t sell some conservatives that he wasn’t more than a moderate changeling who’d do anything to become president.
Their unofficial strike on Election Day contributed to a second Obama victory. Perhaps fatalism has taken root, causing some on the Right to hope this Administration inflicts so much damage that Democrats will be run out of the White House for the next 200 years?
I think a Romney win would have been a less painful way to show Democrats the door.
Watch his CPAC 2013 speech and judge for yourselves:
Black liberals demanded I hate him because of (take your small minded pick) his ethnicity, his religion, his wealth, or the default position: all of the above.
Haters, Left and Right, can now content themselves with continued chaos that is breaking more American spirits than any foreign invader to date!
Mitt Romney was a hit at CPAC 2013.
If you listen closely, the subdued pain in his voice is echoed by millions in a national discussion who hoped Obama’s campaign slogan “Forward” meant looking forward to the next four years without him as president.

Phyllis Schlafly CPAC: Mitt Romney, John McCain A ‘Bunch Of Losers’
By The Huffington Post News Editors
Conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly bashed on Saturday former — and failed — Republican presidential nominees Bob Dole, John McCain and Mitt Romney, calling them establishment candidates who moved to the center based on advice from consultants rather than embracing conservative values.
“We’ve had the establishment pick another loser for us,” she said of Romney, the 2012 Republican nominee, at CPAC. “The fight we have, and the fight I want you to engage in, is the establishment against the grassroots. The establishment has given us a whole series of losers. Bob Dole and John McCain. Mitt Romney.”
“Why is it that the establishment has given us this bunch of losers?” she added later.
Palin attacks Bloomberg soda ban during CPAC speech
Sarah Palin, the former vice presidential nominee, spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, in Maryland Saturday and offered stark criticism of the Obama administration and used the friendly platform to poke fun at New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg‘s call to ban oversized sodas.
