2 Simon XT touchscreen questions

Powered up a supposedly new touchscreen and while the screen is readable, it’s very washed out. I tried restarting it as well as changing the brightness settings. Is there anyway to fix this or is just a dud?

Also, I’ve been seeing two models on Ebay. 60-924-3-XT-2WTTS and the 60-924-3-RF-2WTTS

What’s the difference with the XT and the RF? Any one better?

Prestige IAQ – low temp lock out for A/C ?

Hi guys I have a Prestige thermostat with IAQ board and a RF out door temp sensor. I have just had a 3 ton A/C unit installed and all is working well. But I was told by the techs who installed the system to make sure I do not run the A/C compressor below 55’F or 13’C. Well I noticed last night the the system was kicking on the odd time with out over night outdoor temp being at 9’C. So I would like to set my Prestige to lock out the A/C compressor from starting if the temp is below 13’C to prevent damage. Problem is the techs have no idea how to program this controller and I had to assist them in just adding the cooling stage so the new system would work. Honeywell is telling me to contact the hvac company that did the work. So I am stuck in this loop of no help.

Lynx 5100 RF range is gone and few zones too – please help

Last night my lynx started to go crazy and kept saying that theres a problem with all sensors. I went and rebooted it and everything went back to normal. Today I did that again so I rebooted again. Now I noticed that 3 of my zones ( 5820L sensors) are not working but lynx says that they are ready. When I open the windows they dont seem to be working in all three zones. Motion sensors are fine. I tried to reset to default hoping that I can reprogram them but they dont work. I changed the batteries in sensors and that didnt help. what I noticed is that RF range on lynx 5100 dropped. Only the closest sensors will work. anything more then 8 ft will not be detected by lynx. I tested with new sensors and it seems to be the same problem. Any ideas ? Did lynx went bad on me ? PLEASE HELP

LUXEMBOURG–(BUSINESS WIRE)– SES Industry Days Conference – Abilis Systems and MaxLinear (NYS: MXL) , leaders in low-power IC design for digital TV applications, today announced the world’s first eight-channel satellite headless gateway reference platform.

This “headless gateway” platform addresses the ever-increasing demand for viewing of high-quality content on multiple screens. This platform is not directly connected to a TV, like a set-top box, but is network connected and accessible by multiple screens in a home. Acting as a media server, these headless gateway platforms are optimized for SAT>IP and DLNA services.

The gateway reference platform converts satellite TV content into IP packets for streaming in home, thus enabling users to enjoy the benefit of watching today’s DTH services on televisions as well as on IP-enabled devices such as tablets, laptops, smartphones, game consoles and other platforms.

The gateway platform has four RF inputs to be used with existing satellite dishes and low-noise block (LNB) downconverters. It combines the high throughput of the Abilis TB101 network processor with the MxL584 receiver to realize unprecedented low-power consumption and a very low bill-of-materials (BOM). This new platform offers satellite operators a cost, performance, and size-optimized solution to expand their TV offering to tablets and smartphones.

The reference platform is very small and can be designed with multiple applications in mind, for example with a single LNB (using DiSEqC) up to four LNBs. The small design is enabled by MaxLinear’s highly integrated MxL584 Full-Spectrum Capture™ (FSC™) DVB-S/S2 receiver.

The four-input MxL584 receiver integrates tuners required for multi-inputs, eight demodulators, and all the active front-end components, including the low-noise amplifiers (LNA) into a compact and cost-effective 10×10 QFN package.

The TB101 integrates a high-throughput demux supporting up to 800Mbps in eight independent TV streams, a CAS to DRM crypto engine and a Gigabit Ethernet. The chip transforms eight HD TV channels into IP format consuming less than 500mW, using only few DMIPS per channel.

Basic alarm questions

I recently purchased a alarm for my new home that was prewired. I went with a Vista 21ip with the GSM module and a ademco 6160RF keypad. My questions are 1. Can I connect wireless devices with the 6160RF keypad such as wireless motion detectors and such, or do I need to buy some other RF module.
2. The alarm company that I have requested to come do my initial program and monitor states that I have to buy their wireless module and they can’t use the one I purchased. Is this true? They said every company has their own wireless monitoring module proprietary to them and the module I have I not compatible. They made this determination over the phone without knowing what I really have.
3. They are telling me I must install their RF module to use wireless monitors. Will my keypad not work?
I would like to know prior to my appt any help is appreciated.
