Nikita: When Will We See the Final Episodes?

While Nikita is returning for a fourth and final season on The CW, it hasn’t been clear when we’ll see it, with the show only listed as returning midseason. In addition, with the limited six-episode season, there has been the question of how it will air. Last week at Comic-Con, Maggie Q told us (check out the interview below) there was some talk of airing the six episodes in three installments, as two-hour TV movies.

However, asked about Nikita today at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour, CW president Mark Pedowitz revealed, “The game plan for Nikita is not for three ‘two-hour movies.’ It is individual episodes.” He added, “We may end up doing a two-hour finale after we wrap the first four episodes.”

CW on Amazon's Status & DC Plans

Earlier this morning The CW unveiled its plans to develop a Flash television series. In fact, CW president Mark Pedowitz was on-hand at today’s TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour where he confirmed that The Flash is actively being developed, saying that Dr. Barry Allen will be introduced as a recurring character in Arrow: Season 2 and that they’re “planning an origin story” for the character.

The network’s plans of course raised questions about rumors that Warner Bros. was planning to develop a Flash movie leading into the oft-discussed Justice League film which many speculate will follow the studio’s announced Superman/Batman movie.

Killing "Vampires" With Nothing More Than a Bow and Arrow

By Tim Beyers, The Motley Fool

Filed under:

Forget the legends. An old-fashioned arrow to the heart is all you need to slay a vampire — especially if said vampire sports perfect hair and a sculpted teenage body.

Arrow, the DC Comics adaptation Time Warner introduced in October, now ranks as the CW network’s top rated show, beating the Twilight-inspired The Vampire Diaries. More than 3 million viewers on average tune in weekly to see Stephen Amell‘s avenging archer, Nielsen reports, versus 2.8 million for the bloodsuckers.

Surprised? You shouldn’t be, says Tim Beyers of Motley Fool Rule Breakers and Motley Fool Supernova in the following video. AMC Networks‘ top-rated drama The Walking Dead is inspired by a comic book of the same name, and Walt Disney is preparing to launch Iron Man 3 in the U.S  on May 3. All signs suggest that the film will be one of the summer season’s biggest.

Do you enjoy Arrow? How much TV do you consume daily? Please watch this short video to get Tim’s full take, and then leave a comment to let us know what you think of the show and whether you’d buy, sell, or short Time Warner stock at current prices.

Youku Tudou to Add 33 U.S. TV Shows By Year's End

By Kevin Chen, The Motley Fool

Filed under:

Youku Tudou  will add 33 popular American TV dramas and variety shows to its international library by the end of 2013.

With shows from ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, CW, and WB, Youku Tudou is looking to continue to grow its American TV content as Chinese viewership has seen explosive growth over the past years. From 2011 to 2012 alone, Youku Tudou has seen about a 400% increase in the content category. Each episode averages as many as 2.5 million people.

Included in the deal are such TV shows as Vampire Diaries,” “Modern Family,” and “2 Broke Girls.” These new shows join American Idol, Scandal, and the more than 20 hit TV shows Youku Tudou has imported since 2010. Youku Tudou has chosen these TV shows according to in-house content metrics and analysis.

Youku Tudou‘s foreign TV expansion comes after the company struck an exclusive partnership with Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Limited (“TVB“). Announced last week, the deal sets the stage for Youku.com and Tudou.com to host more than 2,500 hours of popular TVB content each year for the next two years.

The article Youku Tudou to Add 33 U.S. TV Shows By Year’s End originally appeared on Fool.com.

The Host: Review

By Roth Cornet

Good news! It’s not Twilight, but boy did the CW miss an opportunity with this one…

The latest cinematic version of one of author Stephenie Meyer‘s novels is unlikely to capture the rabid fanbase that her Twilight Saga franchise did. The Host does have several similar story-threads, but doesn’t quite nail the adolescent fantasy elements the way that her sparkling vampires and imprinting werewolves did. That’s a good thing in some ways for the film, but doesn’t bode well for its chances to match Twilight’s financial success.

Fans of the Twilight films will see some similarities, though: a painfully self-sacrificing female protagonist, eye-color as the distinguishing marker of a species (vampire red or alien silver – neither of which makes any biological sense) and of course, the love story. One girl, two boys is the standard equation. Only in this case, the one girl is carrying two minds. So everyone wins!

Press Briefing by Press Secretary Jay Carney, 3/19/2013

By The White House

James S. Brady Press Briefing Room

11:17 A.M. EDT

MR. CARNEY: Top of the morning to everyone. I have to thank Cody Keenan, my fellow Irish American, for loaning me his tie. (Laughter.) Because I was a little thrown off — I had corned beef and cabbage on Sunday, and I forgot that today is the day that we are officially celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day here in Washington.

As you know, the President has a bilateral meeting with the Taoiseach, Enda Kenny of Ireland, a meeting with the Northern Ireland delegation. He is attending also the Friends of Ireland luncheon on Capitol Hill, and there is a Saint Patrick’s Day reception in the East Room later today.

I also want to note that, because of those remarks, we need to have a hard stop at 12:00 noon today.

With that, I’ll go to the Associated Press.

Q Thanks, Jay. There are reports out of Damascus by state-run media that rebels have mounted a chemical attack that killed 25 people. The Russian Foreign Ministry is backing up those claims, saying that there also — I'm wondering if — what the administration has on that report.

MR. CARNEY: Jim, as you know, we have been very clear about our concern that as the Assad regime is increasingly beleaguered and finds its escalation of violence through conventional means inadequate, including the barbaric use of Scud missiles against population centers, that it will consider the use of chemical weapons against the Syrian people. This is a serious concern.

I am not going to discuss intelligence, but it is important that as fighting in Syria intensifies and the regime becomes more desperate, that the United States and the international community make absolutely clear to Assad that the use of chemical weapons would be totally unacceptable. The President was clear when he said that if Assad and those under his command make the mistake of using chemical weapons or fail to meet their obligations to secure them, then there will be consequences and they will be held accountable.

The international community is united on this issue and the message to the Assad regime has been very clear.

Q Does that mean that you have confirmation that there was indeed a chemical attack, no matter who it came from?

MR. CARNEY: We are looking carefully at the information as it comes in. I’m not going to discuss intelligence processes. All I can tell you is that this is an issue that has been made very clear by the President to be of great concern to us.

Q There were some initial reports that this may have been propaganda. You’re not saying that that is propaganda on the part of the Assad.

MR. CARNEY: Again, I can tell you that we’re looking carefully at allegations of CW use, chemical weapons use. We’re evaluating them, but I have no further assessment to provide …read more

'Veronica Mars' Could Be The First Major Kickstarter-Financed Movie

Veronica Mars was one of those shows, like Freaks and Geeks and Firefly, that found a dedicated following of fans but never really scored in the ratings department. The Privacy Price To Cross The Border

By Kashmir Hill, Forbes Staff

It’s rare that we want strangers pawing through our digital devices, giving them the opportunity to peruse emails, private messages, photos, Twitter DMs, Facebook pokes, and all the other myriad bits of our personal life captured by the digital umbilical cords that are our smartphones. And when I say “rare,” I mean that it’s something we hope never, ever happens to us. But if you’re crossing the border, it’s something that could happen to you; it happens to thousands of people each year. It even happens to nominally-famous types. Enter Canadian Chad Rook, an actor in the new CW show Cult (which is, coincidentally, a show about mysterious disappearances). Or rather don’t enter. While attempting a road trip in late January from Vancouver to L.A. to join his cast members for the show’s premiere, Rook was detained at the Canadian border for 9 hours, where he had to hand over his iPhone and iPad so that U.S. customs officials could go through his email, Twitter and Facebook accounts looking for evidence that his trip was for work not pleasure. Based on what he calls “no evidence,” the officials gave him a five-year ban from entering the country. …read more

Video: Obama Accused Of Staging A Chemical Weapons Attack

By Kris Zane

Foreign Policy magazine did an amazing bit of investigative reporting two weeks ago. They got the Obama administration to leak a classified cable—marked as “secret”—describing how Syrian dictator Bashar Assad had lobbed a chemical weapon on his own people in the city of Homs—murdering five and sickening dozens. They got the Obama administration to “anonymously” comment on the cable, giving extensive details about how the information was gathered, what group put together the information, and even pried from the mouth of the beast that the information came from a State Department-funded group called BASMA, which oddly doesn’t seem to exist. Also oddly, the mysterious chemical weapon canister that was lobbed into the city doesn’t seem to exist either.

The article also has an amazing video compilation of Syrians supposedly choking on poison gas, choking on their vomit, breathing into respirators, and cursing that evil dictator Bashar Assad.

Foreign Policy magazine even despatched an army of reporters to Homs, interviewing victims and the doctors who treated the victims and were especially interested in a neurologist by the name of Dr. Nashwan Abu Abdo.

The good doctor did an extensive examination of the dead victims, especially taking body samples for evidence. Per the article:

The doctors on the scene said they were not able to pinpoint the poison because they lacked the advanced laboratory equipment needed. They took blood, hair, saliva, and urine samples, but those samples are no longer viable for testing because too much time has passed, they said.

Now, the attack is stated to have taken place on December 23, 2012. Twenty-three days later, on January 15, the Foreign Policy article was written. Anyone who has even a modicum of forensic knowledge knows that blood and urine will retain traces of poison for months if not years; and hair, when poison is ingested through the lungs, absorbed by the blood stream, and then passed into the hair, will retain the poison for literally centuries, assuming full decomposition hasn’t occurred. Many will remember Napoleon Bonaparte’s hair being tested for arsenic poisoning in 2008. So Foreign Policy’s quote that “samples are no longer viable for testing” is ludicrous.

Lo and behold, on January 28, it was revealed through a huge document dump from a hacker based in Malaysia that the UK-based mega defense contractor Britam was approached about lobbing a chemical weapon in Homs, blaming it on Assad, and scapegoating the Russians for delivering the canister.

The plan was “approved by Washington.” Yes, that means Barack Obama was in on it.

Among the hacked Britam documents were copies of passports of the mercenaries who planned on carrying out the proposed attack; but the key document is an email between Britam director David Goulding and the company’s founder, Philip Doughty.

Phil, We’ve got a new offer. It’s about Syria again. Qataris propose an attractive deal and swear that the idea is approved by Washington. We’ll have to deliver a CW [chemical weapon] to Homs [city in western Syria], a Soviet origin g-shell [gas shell] from Libya similar to those that Assad should have. They want us to deploy our Ukrainian personnel that should speak Russian and make a video record. Frankly, I don’t think it’s a good idea but the sums proposed are enormous. Your opinion? Kind regards-David.

It appears that the idiocy of lobbing an Obama-approved chemical weapon on the Syrian people was too much even for our Commander-in-Chief; and a pseudo false flag was instead devised, as evidenced by the ludicrous statement in the Foreign Policy article that urine, blood, and hair samples couldn’t be tested for poison days after they were taken.

The so-called “civil war” in Syria, the alleged chemical attack, is nothing more than a globalist push led by Barack Obama, using al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood-linked terrorists posing as Syrian rebels so that Obama and NATO’s illegal war in Libya can have a repeat performance in Syria.

Before NATO, with Obama at the helm leading the Charge of the Light Brigade into Syria occurs, let a forensic lab in the United States analyze the body samples from the chemical weapon victims to see if in fact there was a chemical attack.

I doubt, however, that any samples were taken because the chemical attack was a sham in order to justify a U.S./NATO invasion of Syria.

America, if Obama is in fact involved in this, impeachment would be only the beginning…

Video: Did Obama Stage A Chemical Weapons Attack In Syria?

By Kris Zane

We know that Obama, under Fast and Furious, ran guns to Mexican drug cartels in order to curtail the Second Amendment.

We know that Barack Obama was running weapons to Syria, using Benghazi as a base of operation and Ambassador Chris Stevens as his point man.

But what if there was a new scandal, something so horrendous that it would make Obama’s gunrunning escapades look like child’s play?

Obama has made no secret of the fact that he wants to depose Syrian dictator Bashar Assad. He would have ridden on the shoulders of NATO long ago, spurning Congress like he did when he conducted an illegal and unconstitutional war in toppling Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

But in Gaddafi’s case, Obama had the UN and NATO supporting him. In Syria’s case, Obama lacks global support.

There is only one way Obama has vowed he would get involved in the toppling of Assad: that is, if the so-called “red line” is passed, whereby there is evidence Assad used chemical weapons against his own people.

There is every indication that Assad would never deploy chemical weapons against his own people. And in fact, Syria has long feared that the Obama administration would manufacture a false flag chemical weapons attack perpetrated by the Syrian rebels and then blame it on Assad.

And that is what apparently has happened.

With a twist.

On January 26, Cyber War News reported on a huge cache of emails and documents hacked from the defense contractor giant Britam. The key document is an email between Britam director David Goulding and the company’s founder, Philip Doughty. They engage in a shocking discussion: a proposal is made whereby a chemical weapon would be launched on Syria, the blame would be placed on Assad, and delivery of the weapon would be blamed on the Russians. The proposal, per the email, was “approved by Washington”—that is, by Barack Hussein Obama. The email is as follows:

Phil, We’ve got a new offer. It’s about Syria again. Qataris propose an attractive deal and swear that the idea is approved by Washington. We’ll have to deliver a CW [chemical weapon] to Homs [city in western Syria], a Soviet origin g-shell [gas shell] from Libya similar to those that Assad should have. They want us to deploy our Ukrainian personnel that should speak Russian and make a video record. Frankly, I don’t think it’s a good idea but the sums proposed are enormous. Your opinion? Kind regards-David.

Along with this email, there is a huge cache of downloadable documents, including passports of the Ukrainian mercenaries whom it is presumed would be posing as the scapegoated Russians delivering the chemical weapons.

Lo and behold on January 15, the leftist magazine Foreign Policy comes out with an “exclusive” article on a secret cable showing that Assad used chemical weapons against his own people. According to the article:

An Obama administration official who reviewed the document, which was classified at the “secret” level, detailed its contents to The Cable. “We can’t definitely say 100 percent, but Syrian contacts made a compelling case that Agent 15 was used in Homs on Dec. 23,” the official said.

Exactly how Foreign Policy got access to a secret cable is unknown. What is known is that Barack Hussein Obama is probably gearing up to lead another invasion of an Arab country, leading to another Libya or another Egypt, where al-Qaeda-linked and Muslim Brotherhood Islamists take over the country.

But isn’t that what Barack Obama wants?

If Obama did in fact take part in the murder of the Libyan people with chemical weapons, impeachment would be just the beginning.

A global trial for war crimes would be in order.

America, however, would get first dibs on him. Then the world could do with him as they wished.
