It’s The Tea Party, Stupid!

By Anthony ‘AC’ Castellitto

I have many good friends who I communicate with in person and on the Internet. As the conversation turns to the things that really matter, I always get the same question – ‘What Can We Do?’

Great question! Here’s my view (and I know many who feel the same.)

First of all, we must come to the realization that a majority of our representatives no longer truly represent us. They are looking out for their own best interests and don’t want to rock the boat or make any waves.

Essentially, most of our congressman and senators are merely playing it safe. They have their blinders on and don’t want to take a look at the bigger picture. They are too busy making the rounds in Washington – being all chummy with their colleagues and making backdoor deals.

Look at Congress! They hold the purse strings; you’d think they’d be a bit more scrutinizing. But as we’ve seen time and time again, they are more than content to remain in their blissfully ignorant state until such time that their constituents are forced to light a fire under their butt and point them in the right direction!

Also, its been recently revealed (and this should comes as no surprise) that most of our government officials are blackmailing each other and have been rendered severely impotent. In a time when all types of unethical and illegal government activities are revealed, how is that the proper checks and balances are continuously neglected? We have high ranking officials who should have been forced to step down numerous infractions ago – but still they remain.

Essentially, ‘We the People’ have been thrust into a position of greater responsibility. We are now the watchdogs! We have to keep them (the federal government) honest the best we can and just keep pouring it on!

How we do this?

Continue to keep the flow of information going! Educate the moderates and tactfully plant some seeds in the minds of the liberals. We know liberals may become defensive and irrational, so we may have to carefully pick and choose what info we share – sticking to those stories that directly threaten the majority. The ‘privacy issue’ is one that will continue to resonate with the liberal factions.

Also, we need to regularly contact (via phone or email) our congressman and senators, whether they be Democrat or Republican. Send them links/evidence to support your concerns. Eventually, there may be enough honest representatives in place to make a difference. Ones who are ready to have an impact and shake-up the status quo. We are seeing that with Senator Ted Cruz. Some of his own party have taken a strong disliking of him, and that is a very good sign! We need to force small government Constitutionalists like Ron Paul onto national prominence – they are presidential material!

But more than anything, we have to get behind the Tea Party any way we can! We must support, defend, encourage, and pray for local and state Tea Party groups and …read more

Paul Says He Is Considering 2016 Presidential Bid

By Breaking News

WASHINGTON— Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky says he is considering a presidential campaign in 2016 but will not make a decision before next year.

Paul says at a breakfast sponsored by The Christian Science Monitor that he wants to be part of the national debate and being considered a potential candidate gives him a “larger microphone” on issues.

Paul plans to travel to early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire this spring and South Carolina this summer as part of the process.

Obama Lost The Youth To Ron Paul

By Joel Valenzuela

Political movements come. Political movements go. Which ones will last? Which ones will fail? How do we identify the principles that will shape our future?

The answer: follow the youth.

Now that might lead us to believe that Barack Obama’s 2008 election campaign was the real deal, the game-changer for the future of the American political landscape. Not so fast. A massive PR con job that lasts one election cycle isn’t quite the same as an organic, lasting, growing youth movement. Young people might be impressionable, but they’re quick to learn. A younger, multi-ethnic frontman with a minimal political record can only hide the same tired old policies for so long. Soon enough, the youth will abandon a false prophet of hope and change and get behind someone who is truly on their side. Someone who sincerely fights for their future.

And that’s exactly what happened. Take another, opposite, unlikely youth leader: Ron Paul.

The political career or Dr. Ron Paul can easily be viewed as a failure. During his generation-long service in Congress, only one out of the 620 pieces of legislation he sponsored ever became law, hardly an encouraging sign of success. Paul ran three times for President of the United States, and all three times fell far short of victory. Earlier this year he retired from Congress, quietly slipping out of the public sphere.

But Dr. Paul didn’t fall short where it really mattered: inspiring future generations with hope. The firey youth-based movement he rallied refused to die long after his political campaigns came to an end. Organizations like the Campaign for Liberty and Young Americans for Liberty continue to carry out the work of his movement. And they’re not going anywhere. They’re only getting stronger.

While time will be the ultimate judge as to the lasting impact of Ron Paul’s youth movement, the signs are already there. I witnessed one of these signs firsthand this past weekend at a Young Americans for Liberty conference in Fullerton, California. Dr. Paul addressed a room full of youth activists via Skype, some of whom had driven all day to be able to attend. An old man in his office bent over a computer received a standing ovation from a packed auditorium thousands of miles away, full of young people of every ethnicity, gender and background, most of whom were younger than his own grandchildren. This happened in California, a state known for adopting policies opposite of what Paul spent his life advocating. Proof be damned, this one powerful piece of evidence spoke with the force of a thousand statistics. Make no mistake: Ron Paul has won the youth of America.

The youth are the future. Those who control the youth, therefore, control the future. It really doesn’t get any simpler than that. And, judging from the lasting impact of the movement Dr. Ron Paul inspired, the future has been won for liberty.

Paul: GOP Faces ‘daunting Task’ With Black Voters

By Breaking News

Margaret Thatcher SC Remembering Margaret Thatcher

WASHINGTON — Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul said Wednesday that Republicans face long odds in connecting with black voters and are often cast as unsympathetic to the needs of blacks and minorities — something he says the party needs to change.

Paul, a potential 2016 presidential candidate, said in a speech at Howard University that the Republican party was rooted in the presidency of Abraham Lincoln and efforts to rid the South of oppressive Jim Crow laws. He expressed hope that black voters would be more open to Republicans, pointing to policies promoting school choice, economic opportunity and the decriminalization of drug laws.

“Republicans face a daunting task. Several generations of black voters have never voted Republican and are not very open to considering the option,” Paul said. By speaking at Howard, Paul said he hoped students would “hear me out — that you will see me for who I am, not the caricature sometimes presented by political opponents.”

Paul’s speech to black students and faculty members at the historically black university was emblematic of Republicans’ efforts to attract a broader swath of voters following President Barack Obama’s re-election. Obama, the nation’s first black president, received more than 9 in 10 votes from blacks in 2008 and 2012 and strong support among Latinos, prompting Republicans to discuss ways of broadening their outreach to minorities.

The Kentucky senator, an eye doctor and son of libertarian-leaning former Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, was briefly interrupted during his speech by a young man who unfurled a banner that said the university does not support “white supremacy.” The man was removed from the auditorium.

Osama Bin Laden A “surprise Witness” Against Wikileaks Defendant Bradley Manning

By Daniel Noe

Osama bin Laden SC Osama bin Laden a “surprise witness” against Wikileaks defendant Bradley Manning

The raid on bin Laden’s hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan netted more than the death of bin laden. SEAL teams members in the compound collected hard drives and other electronic media regarding al-Qaida activities and connections. During the analysis of that media, Intelligence analysts found that bin laden had files that were downloaded from WikiLeaks; that is, the information stolen by Pfc Bradley Manning was in the hands of al-Qaida. Apparently, Bradley Manning “knowingly gave intelligence to the enemy through indirect means”. Army prosecutors are planning to use one of the SEALs to testify at Manning’s court-martial. The evidence will show that bin Laden asked for and received WikiLeaks files.

The Prosecution will also call additional witnesses to testify how the leaked information may have resulted in “injury and death to individuals” and may have been used to influence enemy capability and activity in several countries. The amount of damage Manning has done is unknown to date.

Defense

Manning’s lawyer, David Coombs, argues that Manning didn’t know the leaked secrets would be used by al-Qaida and that the use of WikiLeaks files by al-Qaida is irrelevant. Moreover, in a seemingly desperate effort to mitigate any punishment to his client, Coombs also claims the U.S. government was guilty of over-classifying secrets.

In a possible plea deal, Manning hopes to present a lengthy document explaining his reasons for leaking the secrets to WikiLeaks. He believes this may spur public debate concerning his whistleblowing activities. However, as his story is being reported mostly by overseas sources, it is likely the American public will neither know about it nor care.

Judge

To date, presiding Army Judge Col. Denise Lind hasn’t decided whether to allow evidence linking the files to bin-Laden or to permit Manning’s statement/confession to be read in court. In a recent ruling, Judge Lind denied the petition of the defense to present evidence of excessive secrecy, stating that Manning did not have the authority to determine proper guidelines for the classification of secrets.

Rand Paul 4 SC Sen. Paul: Voters want to round up immigrants

WASHINGTON- A Republican senator says he sees some in his party favoring a 2016 presidential candidate with an immigration policy that would “round people up … and send them back to Mexico.”

Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky on Sunday said he would be a presidential candidate if he thought he could win. The tea party favorite says he sees an opening for a “libertarian Republican narrative” to help the GOP win on the West Coast and New England.

Victory! Indiana, South Carolina Anti-NDAA Bills Fly Through Committee

By Breaking News

Obama NDAA SC Victory! Indiana, South Carolina Anti NDAA Bills fly through committee

Yesterday, Feb. 13, “anti-NDAAlegislation passed senate committees in both Indiana and South Carolina.

In Indiana, S.B. 400 was championed by Sen. Jim Banks and Elkhart County Sheriff Bradley Rodgers, who both spoke before the Corrections and Criminal Law Committee hearing in support of the bill.

Sen. Banks pointed out the sections of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 that violated the U.S. Constitution, specifically Sections 1021 and 1022 that allow for the indefinite detainment of American citizens without due process.

PANDA Indiana Team Leader James Kerner praised Sen. Banks’s speech, saying, “I suggest the ACLU, Occupy movement, Tea Party movement, and Oath Keepers throw their full support behind Sen. Banks. He should be made a household name like Ron Paul.”

Sheriff Rogers spoke of the oath he took to uphold the Constitution and asked if he would be prohibited from taking action if federal agents illegally kidnapped citizens in his district.

The committee’s answer: “No.” The bill passed unanimously, 8-0.

Likewise in South Carolina, word comes from the Tenth Amendment Center that legislation seeking to nullify the “indefinite detention” provisions of the 2012 NDAA was approved by the state Senate Judiciary Committee, 14-6.

The bill was pre-filed last fall by Sen. Tom Davis and called Sections 1021 and 1022 of the 2012 NDAA “a direct threat to the liberty, security, and well-being of the people of South Carolina.”

The next step for the bills in each state is to reach the floors of their respective senates for a vote.

Thanks to organizations such as the Tenth Amendment Center, American Civil Liberties UnionBill of Rights Defense Committee and tireless grassroots activists everywhere, successes for defeating the 2012 NDAA are starting to happen all across the country.

Obama’s Definition Of ‘Liberty’

By Susan Stamper Brown

Liberty Tree Obama SC Obamas Definition of Liberty

Oh, how far-removed we are from what now seems like the “innocent” Bill Clinton days when all we had to worry about was the various definitions of the word “is”. And now, after watching President Obama’s second term inaugural address, it is clear we have a president who calls into question the meaning of the word “liberty.”

It is incomprehensible that this former constitutional lawyer would argue during his speech that America has evolved to the extent that “our founding documents” no longer require us to “define liberty in exactly the same way.” But then again, it’s not so far-fetched considering what he’s done so far as well as the radicals he’s wrapped his life around. Some in the mainstream media have pondered if compromising with Republicans will be part of his second term agenda; but based on his address, the short answer is “no.” Put on your seatbelts; we’re headed for four more years of divide-and-conquer politics. The carnage will be immense, considering that the majority of Americans are not far-left radicals.

Clearly, our founders defined liberty as the right of individuals to pursue their own interests with minimal interference from a limited government. To suggest otherwise either shows a lack of understanding of America’s founding principles or a disregard for the same. Obama seems intent on widening the already colossal ideological divide.

And herein lies the complexity of a community organizer turned president: his ideology contradicts the constitution he is sworn to uphold.

If the ultimate goal is to shake up, tear down, and fundamentally transform America into the collectivist society Obama’s honey-filled words dripped of, he will do so without the support of half the country. As the rest of us find ourselves scratching our heads trying to figure out where the constitutional authority exists to achieve this transformation, Obama moves forward, motivated by a ludicrous notion that the Constitution must change because times have.

Obama’s inaugural speech words echoed similar thoughts from his book “The Audacity of Hope,” suggesting the Constitution “is not a static but rather a living document, and must be read in the context of an ever-changing world.”

At least he is consistent. On WBEZ-FM in Chicago 12 years ago, Obama attempted to make a case for wealth redistribution and social justice, suggesting it would be found in what the Constitution did not say. Citing a previous court case, Obama said “the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties” mandating “what the states can’t do to you” and “what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf.”

And he’s lived in the gray ever since. Black and white have given way to ever-expanding shades of gray so much that listening to a policy speech from the president requires an interpreter. The inaugural speech was replete with duplicitous and eerily conservative phrasing like “equality” to conceal wealth redistribution and “safety” in “the quiet lanes of Newtown” to mask expanded gun control.

It might be time for citizens to grasp an understanding of what our founders meant when they wrote and spoke about liberty. Let me leave you with former congressman Ron Paul’s definition: “Freedom is defined by the ability of citizens to live without government interference. Government cannot create a world without risks…Only a totalitarian society would even claim absolute safety…Liberty has meaning only if we still believe in it when terrible things happen, and a false government security blanket beckons.”

I still believe. How about you?

Is This Man The Next President?

By Breaking News

Rand Paul 4 SC Is this Man the Next President?

JERUSALEM – You say it’s too early to choose a candidate for president in 2016?

Let me tell you something: It’s never too early, unless you want to be left with a Republican selection like those since Ronald Reagan left office in 1988 – establishment GOP picks who, for the most part, are either losers or winners who continue business as usual in Washington.

Why am I excited about Sen. Rand Paul in 2016?

Because he genuinely understands the absolute need to reduce spending, return to the constitutional limits on the federal government and stop borrowing – not 10 years from now, but now.

Secondly, Paul has shown an ability to beat the Republican establishment by bringing together a coalition of libertarians, evangelicals and tea-party activists on common principles.

Thirdly, I believe he will start with a strong base of support built by his father, Ron Paul – a base representing close to 20 percent of the Republican and independent vote. That is a formidable base – better than any other potential GOP candidate starts with in a bid to reclaim the White House in four years

Sen. Rand Paul In The Mideast: ‘… I Am Not Anti-Israel’

By Breaking News

Rand Paul 4 SC Sen. Rand Paul in the Mideast: ... I am not anti Israel

JERUSALEM — On the seventh day of his Holy Land tour, Sen. Rand Paul continued to walk a fine line between expressing support for Israel while avoiding the impression that his support for the Jewish state is uncritical and self-serving.

The Kentucky senator shares his father’s limited government principles but says his eight days in Israel — one of which included a meeting on the West Bank with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and, in Amman, with Jordan’s King Abdullah II — are designed to show he is not anti-Israel. Some Jewish Americans and born-again Christians often accused former Texas Rep. Ron Paul of indifference to Israel’s security.

“I’ve been accused of that, too, and part of the reason I’m here is to show I am not anti-Israel,” he said in a speech to the 53 people traveling wit him — most of them Christian conservatives but including some prominent Jewish Americans.

Many American evangelicals are as firmly pro-Israel as most Jewish Americans. He would need the support of both to make a successful run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016 — a run that some of those accompanying him here say he is launching with this trip.

Mr. Paul will also need the allegiance of many of his father’s libertarian-minded supporters, and they will look askance at any indication that the Kentucky Republican is putting Israel’s interests ahead of America’s in order to cultivate the evangelical and conservative Jewish vote.
