It’s The Tea Party, Stupid!

I have many good friends who I communicate with in person and on the Internet. As the conversation turns to the things that really matter, I always get the same question – ‘What Can We Do?’

Great question! Here’s my view (and I know many who feel the same.)

First of all, we must come to the realization that a majority of our representatives no longer truly represent us. They are looking out for their own best interests and don’t want to rock the boat or make any waves.

Essentially, most of our congressman and senators are merely playing it safe. They have their blinders on and don’t want to take a look at the bigger picture. They are too busy making the rounds in Washington – being all chummy with their colleagues and making backdoor deals.

Look at Congress! They hold the purse strings; you’d think they’d be a bit more scrutinizing. But as we’ve seen time and time again, they are more than content to remain in their blissfully ignorant state until such time that their constituents are forced to light a fire under their butt and point them in the right direction!

Also, its been recently revealed (and this should comes as no surprise) that most of our government officials are blackmailing each other and have been rendered severely impotent. In a time when all types of unethical and illegal government activities are revealed, how is that the proper checks and balances are continuously neglected? We have high ranking officials who should have been forced to step down numerous infractions ago – but still they remain.

Essentially, ‘We the People’ have been thrust into a position of greater responsibility. We are now the watchdogs! We have to keep them (the federal government) honest the best we can and just keep pouring it on!

How we do this?

Continue to keep the flow of information going! Educate the moderates and tactfully plant some seeds in the minds of the liberals. We know liberals may become defensive and irrational, so we may have to carefully pick and choose what info we share – sticking to those stories that directly threaten the majority. The ‘privacy issue’ is one that will continue to resonate with the liberal factions.

Also, we need to regularly contact (via phone or email) our congressman and senators, whether they be Democrat or Republican. Send them links/evidence to support your concerns. Eventually, there may be enough honest representatives in place to make a difference. Ones who are ready to have an impact and shake-up the status quo. We are seeing that with Senator Ted Cruz. Some of his own party have taken a strong disliking of him, and that is a very good sign! We need to force small government Constitutionalists like Ron Paul onto national prominence – they are presidential material!

But more than anything, we have to get behind the Tea Party any way we can! We must support, defend, encourage, and pray for local and state Tea Party groups and …read more

Limitless: Ted Cruz Values Freedom

By Judy B. Lloyd

Ford Racing Aluminum Driveshaft

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz recently visited California and was among the featured guests at the Lincoln Club of Northern California’s spring seminar. He spoke of his vision for America which stands in striking contrast with Barack Obama’s.

Senator Cruz was the youngest Solicitor General in Texas; trained at Ivy League Schools (Princeton and Harvard) on the East Coast. He has authored more than 80 U.S. Supreme Court briefs and argued 43 oral arguments, according to his website.

Senator Cruz introduced his wife Heidi, who worked for Condoleezza Rice when Rice served in the White House as National Security Adviser. Then, Heidi handled Western Hemisphere policy. Now, she is Vice President of Goldman Sachs in Houston, Texas.

When Senator Cruz first met Heidi’s family – missionaries who were vegetarians – he celebrated Christmas dinner with them. When asked how a vegetarian Christmas differs from Christmas in Cuba, Senator Cruz said that it’s mostly the same – except that the entree never arrives.  He talked of the Cuban tradition which includes roasting an entire pig.

It’s stories like these that endear you to Ted Cruz, who, liked any good Texan, is polite, likable and approachable.

Cruz spoke of protests of a speech he gave at U.C. Berkeley right when Facebook began. He talked about Berkeley’s passionate involvement and suggested students stay engaged and make it a better world. Unlike some on the left who criticize Cruz, he feels that people who disagree with him are not stupid or evil. He suggests approaching people with a more friendly debate demeanor –

“Pretend it is your mother. You cannot convince anyone otherwise.”

Unlike most liberals who’d like to stick a fork in the GOP, stating that the party is “done”, Cruz doesn’t think Republicans will give up –

“Just because we got clobbered in 2012 doesn’t mean we’re done”.

Senator Cruz defines the economic pie as ever-changing. It doesn’t stay stagnant with 47 percent dependent on government.  His philosophy, much like other job-creating Republicans is to have a larger economic pie by creating jobs and more taxpayers, enabling more people get a piece of the pie.

He has advice for Republicans who got caught up in the 2012 rhetoric. He believes the party focused too much on acknowledging those who have already succeeded rather than convincing those who want to achieve –

“Rather than saying ‘You built that’ – say – ‘You can build that.’ “

Cruz discussed debt to his young daughters and says that debt has gone from 10 trillion to 16 trillion in the last four years. It clearly troubles him to think that the cost of our bloated government today will be passed on to his kids to pay.

He talks about Obamacare stating that those who will be hurt most by Obamacare are those who may need help the most.  Many of them are of Hispanic origin, living in Texas. He talks of the court cases against Obama, stating that in the end we’ve got to win the argument, because the future of America’s economic health depends

Cruz Jolts Senate

Ted Cruz SC Cruz Jolts Senate

WASHINGTON — As the Senate edged toward a divisive filibuster vote on Chuck Hagel’s nomination to be defense secretary, Senator Ted Cruz, Republican of Texas, sat silent and satisfied in the corner of the chamber — his voice lost to laryngitis — as he absorbed what he had wrought in his mere seven weeks of Senate service.

Mr. Hagel, a former senator from Mr. Cruz’s own party, was about to be the victim of the first filibuster of a nominee to lead the Pentagon. The blockade was due in no small part to the very junior senator’s relentless pursuit of speeches, financial records or any other documents with Mr. Hagel’s name on them going back at least five years. Some Republicans praised the work of the brash newcomer, but others joined Democrats in saying that Mr. Cruz had gone too far.

Without naming names, Senator Barbara Boxer, Democrat of California, offered a biting label for the Texan’s accusatory crusade: McCarthyism.

“It was really reminiscent of a different time and place, when you said, ‘I have here in my pocket a speech you made on such and such a date,’ and, of course, nothing was in the pocket,” she said, a reference to Senator Joseph R. McCarthy’s pursuit of Communists in the 1950s. “It was reminiscent of some bad times.”

In just two months, Mr. Cruz, 42, has made his presence felt in an institution where new arrivals are usually not heard from for months, if not years. Besides suggesting that Mr. Hagel might have received compensation from foreign enemies, he has tangled with the mayor of Chicago, challenged the Senate’s third-ranking Democrat on national television, voted against virtually everything before him — including the confirmation of John Kerry as secretary of state — and raised the hackles of colleagues from both parties.
