“With an endless parade of distractions, political posturing, and phony scandals, Washington has taken its eye off the ball,” Barack Obama said in a speech at Knox College in Galesburg, Ill. on July 24, 2013.
“If four Americans get killed, it’s not OPTIMAL.”–Obama’s calloused, abnormally detached, and incredibly narcissistic response to Comedy Central’s John Stewart’s question about the changing story of the Benghazi attack.
Does Obama think that the Muslim terrorist attack on our consulate in Libya on 9/11/2012 didn’t really happen and that four Americans (Ambassador Chris Stevens, Glenn Doherty, Sean Smith, and Ty Woods) weren’t actually murdered?
The Obama Laundry List of Phony Scandals
1. IRS targets Obama’s enemies: The IRS targeted conservative and pro-Israel groups prior to the 2012 election. Questions are being raised about why this occurred, who ordered it, whether there was any White House involvement, and whether there was an initial effort to hide who knew about the targeting and when.
2. Benghazi: This is actually three treasonous scandals into one:
a) The failure of the administration to protect the Benghazi mission.
b) The Obama administration changed the talking points in order to suggest the attack was motivated by an anti-Muslim video.
c) The intense stonewalling, complete shutdown, and absolute refusal of the White House to say what President Obama did the night of the attack.
d) Breaking 200 plus years of honorable American military tradition to never leave any solider behind.
3. Spying on the the AP: The Justice Department stole a plethora of Associated Press reporters’ phone records as part of a leak investigation.
4. James Rosengate: The Justice Department suggested that Fox News reporter James Rosen is a criminal for reporting about classified information and subsequently monitored his phones and emails.
5. The Holder perjury I: Attorney General Eric Holder told Congress that he had never been associated with “potential prosecution” of a journalist for perjury when, in fact, he personally signed the affidavit that alleged Fox News reporter James Rosen was a potential criminal.
6. The ATF “Fast and Furious” debacle: Allowed weapons from the U.S. to “walk” across the border into the hands of Mexican drug dealers. The ATF lost track of hundreds of firearms, many of which were used in crimes (including the December 2010 killing of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.)
7. Holder Perjury II: During congressional hearings held on May 3, 2011, Congressman Darrell Issa asked AG Eric Holder when he first knew about the “Fast and Furious” gun walking scheme. Eric Holder replied under oath: “I am not sure about the exact date but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.” Holder flat out lied to Congress under oath;”Project Gun Runner” (Fast and Furious) was launched by Obama with Holder’s full knowledge on March 24, 2009. Holder is guilty of perjury and should be arrested.
8. Secretary Kathleen Sebelius runs an extortion racket: HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius solicited donations from companies HHS might regulate. The money would be used to help her sign up uninsured Americans for ObamaCare.
9. The Pigford scandal: A U.S. Agriculture Department effort that began as an …read more

Questions for the President at his next press conference:
Four dead in Benghazi and many seriously injured under suspicious circumstances, a government cover up, witnesses gagged, questions unanswered, investigations derailed. That’s not a scandal?
Reporters’ records seized, false allegations leveled by DOJ, reporters threatened, reporters and editors prevented from doing their jobs, cover-ups, government intimidation. That’s not a scandal?
Guns run to drug cartels in Mexico, hundreds killed with them (including our border agents), no following-up to arrest perpetrators (instead ANOTHER cover-up), allegations that American guns cause Mexican violence, border security virtually ignored, government interference with investigations. That’s not a scandal?
The EPA used as a legislative arm of the executive branch, installing rules that Congress voted down (a clear violation of the Constitution.) The EPA also used to persecute political opposition. Not a scandal?
NSA surveillance you authorized seriously suspected of violating citizen rights, and that’s not a scandal?
Recess appointments and an illegal war in Libya, both impeachable offenses. Not a scandal?
The IRS used to stomp down conservative groups so they cannot educate and influence citizens about Founding principles that contradict your radicalism. This is clearly an unconstitutional use of power, amounting to illegal political activity. That is a phony scandal?
ObamaCare, passed illegally and unethically; called a train wreck by the very man who helped write it and get it through Congress; promises to bankrupt the country; a measure designed to redistribute wealth and not provide care; a series of laws and regulations violating privacy, the doctor-patient relationship, and the sovereignty of the states. That is not a scandal?
Your records, Mr. President. You’ve released virtually nothing about your life, your education, your term in the Illinois legislature, nothing. Now a respected country sheriff and his investigators, along with document experts, insist that the birth certificate you released is a forgery. This means you are hiding something, that it is likely you are not ‘natural born,’ a requirement in the Constitution for becoming President. And this is not a scandal, Mr. Obama?
What would qualify as a scandal in your view, Mr. Obama? Oh. That’s right. You have already answered that question. It’s scandalous for citizens to own guns, possess private property, keep the fruits of their labor, determine for themselves what kind of schools they prefer, select their own doctor, speak up about matters of conscience, freely exercise their religion, advocate original founding principles, or worse yet, join the Tea Party.

As a result of the employer delay and other last-minute changes, the CBO said Tuesday that cost of expanding coverage for the uninsured will rise to $1.375 billion from 2014-2023, an increase of less than 1 percent from its previous estimate in May.
Detroit spent all its money and then some, and now it plans to solve its financial woes by dipping its hands more deeply into the federal purse.
Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said on Sunday that a direct federal bailout for the bankrupt Motor City is out of the question, but Detroit has something else in mind.
FoxNews reports the city has $5.7 billion in outstanding retiree health costs, and plans to take retirees too young to qualify for Medicare and send them into the ObamaCare insurance markets, thus increasing the burden on the federal government, with subsidies from ObamaCare being provided by federal taxpayers.

Anyone not convinced by now that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was fashioned by those in pursuit of greater power rather than better healthcare apparently doesn’t know that the law features a section which deliberately shuts down many of the best and most effective healthcare providers in the nation. Thanks to a deal forged by ObamaCare’s Democrat authors and associations which represent many of the nation’s largest hospitals, all clinics, treatment facilities and hospitals owned by physicians are being effectively driven out of business.
For years the nation’s critical care hospitals have been unable to successfully compete with the smaller, more specialized, doctor-owned and operated facilities. As the Wall Street Journal reports, “…many physician-owned hospitals have enjoyed profit margins of 20 to 35 percent in recent years. Meanwhile, community hospitals had profits of just 7 percent in 2010.” (1)
But rather than worry about finding a way to match the quality of care and services offered by the physician-owned operations, the American Hospital Association and the Federation of American Hospitals struck a deal with Mr. Obama. The hospital groups agreed to go all in, right from the very beginning with unconditional support for ObamaCare in return for language in the ACA which would prevent existing doctor-owned hospitals modernizing and expanding, or new doctor-owned facilities being built at all! (2)
How will this scheme work out for patients?
Each year, the federal government rewards hospitals which provide the highest quality patient care according to the government’s own statistics. In 2012, the No. 1 hospital on the government’s list “… was physician-owned Treasure Valley Hospital in Boise, Idaho. Nine of the top 10 performing hospitals were physician-owned, as were 48 of the top 100.” (3) There are only 238 physician-owned hospitals in the US, yet of the more than 3000 hospital entries catalogued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, this small group occupied 48 of the top 100 spots!
Remember, thanks to the promise of ObamaCare, MORE patients will be coming on board, needing “quality healthcare” after the 1st day of 2014, NOT fewer! Effectively shutting down existing providers–many of them the highest quality providers in their area–seems to make little sense. How can this be reconciled with the Barack promise of better healthcare for more people?
It can’t! But then again the Affordable Care Act has little to with the dispensing of healthcare. And that of course is the point.
Authors of the Act made certain that federal agencies would amass and share an unprecedented amount of personal information about each ObamaCare participant while select healthcare officials would enjoy the power of life and death over every patient. For a political regime dedicated to the proposition of rule through intimidation, such an arrangement represents the true heart of the Affordable Care Act. It is for these reasons–reasons of power and control– that the left believe the existence of ObamaCare and its long-term viability MUST be guaranteed regardless of cost or legality.
In fact no inevitable ObamaCare “trainwreck,” may be permitted to interfere with the long …read more
An aggressive push by Tea Party lawmakers to defund ObamaCare is increasingly pitting Republicans against Republicans, as some party leaders and conservative pundits claim the goal is not achievable this year — and could irresponsibly risk a government shutdown.

It seems big labor is getting nervous about anticipated disastrous effects on the healthcare benefits of union membership by Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act. So nervous are they in fact that James P. Hoffa and organized labor comrades Joseph Hansen and Don Taylor addressed their concerns in personal letter form to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, a clear break from the more conventional late night exchange of cash and instructions so common between labor kingpins and Democrat politicians.
“We can no longer stand silent in the face of elements of the Affordable Care Act that will destroy the very health and wellbeing of our members,” wrote the 3 union bosses to leaders of the political party to which organized labor donated some $800 million in 2008 and $700 million two years later. “Congress wrote this law; we voted for you. We have a problem; you need to fix it.” Though Hoffa didn’t specifically include “When we buy politicians, we expect ‘em to STAY bought,” the implication was clear enough.
Four years ago, there were no more vocal or committed supporters of Obama’s signature healthcare plan than organized labor. But now, Hoffa and the others are whining that “…the ACA will shatter not only our hard-earned health benefits, but destroy the foundation of the 40 hour work week that is the backbone of the American middle class.” Yet none of the damaging contents of the Affordable Care Act have changed during the past 4 years. So why is labor suddenly in a panic?
The ObamaCare employer mandate requiring that employers of over 50 full time (40 hour/week) workers provide healthcare or pay a stiff penalty is being met with a sudden influx of part time employees. In fact, part time hires are outpacing full time in 2013 by over 4-1, a complete reversal of employment figures for 2012. This destruction of the 40 hour week complained of by Hoffa means fewer dollars for employees and a black eye for unions paid to protect their interests.
But of greatest concern to labor bosses are the multi-employer or Taft Hartley health plans currently carried by some 22 million union members. Unions pride themselves on their ability to provide these Cadillac health plans to members at reasonable prices. (Employers of course pay the bulk of the tab.)
However, as ObamaCare requirements are certain to drive premium prices sky high, employers will counter by dropping the plans when unions contracts expire, placing members in the individual, ObamaCare exchange market. Once placed in the ObamaCare market without insurance, employees will qualify for subsidies.
BUT, why join a union or maintain membership if one of the principle reasons–the long-term availability of first rate healthcare at very reasonable prices–no longer exists?! One of the biggest draws for joining a union is being taken away from big labor, and they do NOT like it!
So Hoffa and other labor bosses now want to have their cake and eat it too–they are demanding that members be permitted …read more
ObamaCare is at the center of a rapidly escalating fight that threatens to shut the government down this fall. [WATCH VIDEO]
Senate Republicans, including two members of the leadership, are coalescing around a proposal to block any government funding resolution that includes money for the implementation of the 2010 Affordable Care Act.
But such a move is a nonstarter for President Obama and congressional Democrats. Republicans have tried this maneuver in Obama’s first term, only to back off later to the chagrin of Tea Party leaders.
This time, GOP lawmakers are emboldened by problems plaguing the administration’s ObamaCare implementation. But that zeal could put Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in a tough spot. Both leaders have downplayed previous talk of shuttering the government.
In the House, 64 Republicans have signed onto a letter pressing Boehner not to bring any legislation funding ObamaCare to the floor.

House Republicans voted today to delay core provisions of ObamaCare, emboldened by the administration’s concession that requiring companies to provide coverage for their workers next year may be too complicated. As Democrats frantically wrap the ObamaCare rocket in quick-fix duct tape to keep it from blowing up on the launch pad, the rest of us think wistfully back to 2009, when we heard all those crazy promises about convenience, affordability, and the joys of top-down central planning. What we actually got is a pile of junk, compiled by liberal think tanks, that the White House knows isn’t working. And, thanks to the complicit liberal media outlets, the public has been kept in the dark until now. They, with the White House, have known it wasn’t working for a long long time. They just didn’t want to admit it until they couldn’t hide the truth any longer.
Now that the cat is out of the bag, the liberal establishment prevailed upon President Obama to see what he could do to remedy the situation so their representatives could get reelected again. Everything with these people is about getting reelected and lying to the American people so they can retain their power. So now, President Obama has decided to void the Constitution and rewrite the Affordable Care Act on the fly. Who is doing the revisions, we really don’t know. What we do know is that the ominous provisions that would affect certain businesses and unions has been put off until after the 2014 election cycle. However, the personal provisions are still in effect.
Now isn’t that quaint? Here, we have a law passed by only Democrats that now Democrats can’t allow to take effect. Unfortunately, some of the law has already taken effect, and it is starting to make them look like the hypocrites they are. Now we have the frank admission that it’s fundamentally incompatible with representative government and the rule of law. As deadlines loom, it’s clear that ObamaCare cannot survive in the America we all inherited; so according to the Obama’s minions, America must be changed to accommodate ObamaCare.
It is all about the money. The Democrats reap the benefits of their actions in the form of contributions from large liberal donors who would like to see capitalism collapse. It is their wish to install a Socialist form of government where only they will benefit, and the working class would be forced to go along with whatever the government dictates. So this is the first taste of that form of government. Our president tried to pull a fast one by installing officers on the National Labor Relations Board illegally and then claiming he didn’t know the Congress was still in session, even though his party did the same thing when he was a Senator. Now that he got caught with his hand in the corporate cookie jar, so to speak, he has to do something to save his friends (the Union bosses) from being run out on a rail by the rank and file who will be impacted by ObamaCare.
Some critics have always maintained that ObamaCare was designed to fail, crushing what remains of the health-insurance market to pave the …read more
Another wrinkle to the greatest legislative disaster in modern history is revealed in a new report called “Public Health Insurance, Labor Supply, and Employment Lock,” excerpted by James Pethokoukis at the American Enterprise Institute. The “employment lock” concept is of particular interest. It seems that the desire to acquire health insurance is a significant factor in prompting many low-income people to seek employment, and by relieving that incentive, ObamaCare could prompt a lot of marginal employees to give up and slide into welfare dependency. It doesn’t help that entry-level labor is not exactly a seller’s market these days.
With all due caution about the difficulty of extrapolating their findings over a large population, the authors of the study extrapolated away, and the results were not pretty:
Using CPS data, we estimate that between 840,000 and 1.5 million childless adults in the US currently earn less than 200 percent of the poverty line, have employer-provided insurance, and are not eligible for public health insurance.
Applying our labor supply estimates directly to this population, we predict a decline in employment of between 530,000 and 940,000 in response to this group of individuals being made newly eligible for free or heavily subsidized health insurance. This would represent a decline in the aggregate employment rate of between 0.3 and 0.6 percentage points from this single component of the ACA.
They’re also predicting a far more massive exodus into Medicaid than previously anticipated, which will vindicate the caution of state governors who have resisted ObamaCare implementation.
