Video: Coup D’état Within The White House

By Kris Zane

In Ron Suskind’s book Confidence Men: Wall Street, Washington, and the Education of a President, the White House is described as a playpen with children running amuck, with little if any adult supervision. Larry Summers, part of Obama’s former economic “dream team,” is reported to have said “We’re home alone. There’s no adult in charge.”

In preparation for the propaganda film Zero Dark Thirty, the intelligence community hemorrhaged classified information about the Osama Bin Laden raid to mega-director Kathryn Bigelow, expecting a hagiographic ode to Obama.  But Obama and Hollywood blacklisted the movie for portraying torture as the key to getting Osama Bin Laden. Additionally, Obama was merely given a “cameo,” in which after almost thirty minutes of non-stop torture, including waterboarding, Obama appears on a TV screen in one of his idiotic softball interviews, castigating the use of torture in the previous administration and vociferously stating that he had stamped out the practice in his own administration. Obama is made to look like a fool, and his administration is portrayed as a bunch of paper pushers who could care less about avenging the deaths of thousands of Americans for the events on 9/11.

But both Larry Summers and Kathyrn Bigelow got it wrong. There is an adult in charge. There is someone in the Obama administration who is not merely a paper pusher.

Oddly, that person did not get to where she is by being elected by the American people. And oddly, she didn’t want to take out Bin Laden.

We are speaking here of Valerie Jarrett, former Chicago slum lord, born in Iran, and (as expected) was coddling Muslim extremists.  She and she alone is the reason it took the Obama administration months to take out Bin Laden after his location was made known.

In the weeks and months leading up to the killing of Osama Bin Laden, military and administration officials continually told the Obama administration that the window of opportunity was disappearing with each passing day. There were two reasons for this: Obama’s “no one in charge” manner of governing—that is, his indecisiveness–and the real power in the White House (Valerie Jarrett, chief advisor to Obama, continually subjugating and overruling kill plans made by military and administration officials.

According to a May 2011 email of intelligence giant Stratfor hacked by WikiLeaks, an internal White House source states there was a literal coup d’état within the White House—albeit temporary—overruling both Barack Obama and Valerie Jarrett’s resistance to take out Bin Laden.

In the email, Obama is described as an “absentee President” in the decision-making process to kill Bin Laden.  Every time officials would present a kill plan to Obama, Valerie Jarrett would stoke Obama’s doubts and the operation would be cancelled. In one case, officials presented a plan to drop a bomb on the compound, only to have Jarrett throw a monkey wrench into the plan.

According to the hacked email:

Initially, as he had done before, the president …read more

‘Zero Dark Thirty’ Ban? Oscar-Nominated Film Reportedly Blocked ‘Unofficially’ In Pakistan

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Zero Dark Thirty” might be a top Oscar contender in the United States, but in Pakistan the movie has been all but erased from existence.

“Zero Dark Thirty” has been “unofficially” banned in Pakistan, according to NBC News. The film hasn’t been officially released, the Pakistani government has not commented on it and, “technically, no one in Pakistan is supposed to have ever seen the movie,” NBC reporter Waj S. Khan writes.

Pakistan is the backdrop for the film, directed by Kathryn Bigelow and starring Jessica Chastain, about the hunt for and death of Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad. It details an intricate timeline from 2003 through May 2, 2011, the day the terrorist leader was found hiding in Pakistan and killed by Navy SEAL Team 6.

Shakespeare, Mozart and Kathryn Bigelow: What Really Happened?

By Craig Silver, Forbes Staff They’ve just found Richard III’s bones, and it seems the 15th-century British monarch did indeed suffer from severe curvature of the spine, a malformation that through the ages has contributed to the idea that he became an evil, embittered usurper partly as revenge against the fates, as Shakespeare portrayed him.

Oscar Winner Diablo Cody on Rocking the Boys' Club Boat

By Dina Gachman, Contributor There has been a lot of discussion recently about the state of women in the film industry. The numbers aren’t great, and for every Kathryn Bigelow or Lena Dunham out there, there’s a small army of male writers or directors getting work. Diablo Cody has definitely broken through the boys’ club, but she’s still passionate and vocal about the need for more opportunities for women in film, and in business in general.

Golden Globes 2013: The Very Best Looks From the Red Carpet

By Christina Perez

Last season’s runway rivalry didn’t quite reprise itself on Sunday’s Golden Globes red carpet – but almost. Hedi Slimane‘s new vision for Saint Laurent found a muse in Rosie Huntington-Whiteley; the model-actress (and her Angelina-esque right leg) looked divine in Spring 2013’s gauzy, bow-necked halter gown. Meanwhile, Raf Simons‘s modern Christian Dior was out in full force on not one but two lovely leading ladies. Jennifer Lawrence – who took home the Globe for her work in Silver Linings Playbook – made a strong case for minimalism in the label’s Fall 2012 crimson Couture ballgown, while Marion Cotillard was a vision of modern-day sweetness in a custom asymmetrical strapless shift.

But Slimane and Simons weren’t the only big-name designers who made an impact on the red carpet. Zac Posen was well-represented; not only did the designer dress Naomi Watts in a gorgeous merlot gown from his Pre-Fall 2013 collection, but he also dressed the night’s big winner Lena Dunham in a raisin-hued gown complete with Posen’s signature body-flattering seaming. Oscar de la Renta, too, had a strong showing. Jessica Alba looked dreamy in the designer’s Pre-Fall 2013 sherbet-colored trumpet dress, while Zooey Deschanel glowed in a vivid red strapless number.

Click through to see all those – plus Jessica Chastain‘s seafoam Calvin Klein, Kathryn Bigelow‘s embellished Prada, Sienna Miller‘s pale pink Erdem, and more – right here in our roundup of the very best looks from 2013 Golden Globes night.
