When You Can See the Wachowskis' Next

Warner Bros. has set an official release date for Andy and Lana Wachowski‘s upcoming science fiction film Jupiter Ascending: July 25, 2014.

Starring Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum, the story centers on a Russian immigrant (Kunis) who scrubs toilets for a living. Unbeknownst to her, she possesses the same perfect genetic makeup as the Queen of the Universe and is therefore a threat to her immortal rule. From there, an evolved bounty hunter (Tatum) is sent out to dispatch the cleaning lady, but they soon fall in love.

Jupiter Ascending‘s release date now pits the film against Brett Ratner’s Hercules, which has Dwayne Johnson attached to star.

Additionally, Warners has moved its boxing comedy Grudge Match from November 15, 2013, to January 10, 2014. That film stars Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro.

G.I. Joe 2's Adrianne Palicki Talks Lady Jaye

Adrianna Palicki will soon burst onto the silver screen as Lady Jaye in the upcoming G.I. Joe: Retaliation, teaming alongside Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis in the film.

In a recent interview with EW, Palicki explained her physical preparation for the role, which included a SEAL-approved workout regimen. “Harry Humphries is a retired SEAL, so… he brought his whole SEAL team to train us, and they’re actually in the movie with us, guiding us, which was the most nerve-racking part because if you mess up, you know they’re going to be pulling you aside and scaring you.

“Thankfully I love the character and she’s very well-written,” Palicki continued. “She’s a tough girl. She’s got a little bit of a chip on her shoulder. She’s like the only chick around all these guys so she kind of has to hold her own. She’s the intelligence in the group; she’s the weapon specialist. So there’s a lot to carry with that.”

Looks like Dwayne Johnson won’t star as Lobo in the oft-rumored feature film version of the DC Comics character.

Subaru WRX STI doing a wheelie in Fast & Furious 6 - trailer screencap

Among the many Super Bowl XLVII commercials that caught our attention last night was the first official movie trailer for Fast & Furious 6, which promises more over-the-top action as Dominic Toretto and crew tear up the streets of Europe. Returning Fast & Furious stars include Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris and, back from the dead, Michelle Rodriguez. Predictably, there will be plenty of tuned hardware on display – both automotive and anatomical – along with loads of CGI-assisted stunts and chases.

Other than a stolen tank and crashing cargo plane, some of the vehicular excitement includes cars like a Dodge Charger Daytona (likely a lookalike), Ferrari Enzo FXX (ditto), along with today’s Charger SRT8, Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Subaru WRX STI, plus models like the Land Rover Defender and even what looks to be a vintage Ford Escort Mexico rally car.

The movie will be in theaters this summer, but TheFastAndTheFurious.com is promising an extended first look at the film tomorrow. Until then, you can check out the Super Bowl trailer posted below.

Michael Bay Talks Transformers Redesign

Michael Bay has been discussing the future of the Transformers franchise, talking about both broadening and redesigning the series.

Speaking to Forbes, Bay said “We’re going to start off smaller. There’s a brand new cast. To freshen the franchise we’ve redesigned everything from top to bottom. The history of the first three movies is still there, we start four years later and there’s a reason why we’re meeting a new cast.”

Bay’s next film is Pain & Gain, which stars Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg, with the latter also appearing in Transformers 4.

Fast And The Furious 6 Movie Trailer Will Debut During Super Bowl

By Darryl

fast-and-the-furious-6

Like me, you may be a bit undaunted by yet another Fast And The Furious movie franchise film dropping in theaters later this year. But let’s be honest, it is good entertainment with a bunch of cool cars at best for some of us. Moreover, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson and the rest of the communal cast really put on a good show for us. Being that we do not currently have any major blockbuster car-centric movies for us enthusiast, the upcoming Fast and Furious 6 will have to do. With that said, the official first movie trailer for Fast and Furious 6 will debut during the Super Bowl.

From our last ‘insider’ posts on Fast And The Furious 6, we revealed that there will be a new Subaru BRZ, matte blue BenSpora SP Engineering Tuned Nissan GT-R and it will get a May 2013 start in theaters. Maybe those details will excite you a bit, maybe it won’t. No matter, Fast and Furious 6 may very well be the best new car movie so get ready for a ride… maybe.
