The Most Fashionable People on the 2013 Time 100

By Justin Fenner

Time magazine’s annual list of the world’s 100 most influential people includes a handful of some of the industry’s most beloved characters, including Jenna Lyons and Michael Kors.

But it’s not just designers who represent the fashion community on this year’s list. Tadashi Yanai, the influential CEO of Fast Retailing – which backs Helmut Lang, Theory, and Uniqlo – is also on the list, and so is the Oscar-winning face of Miss Dior, Jennifer Lawrence. And while they might not have made the list this year, Prabal Gurung and Zac Posen made contributions to the list by writing about Lyons and Kors, respectively.

Get a look at who else from the industry made the list here in the gallery, and see the full list of this year’s honorees here.

Dressing For a Cause: The Style Set's Fashionable, Philanthropic Weekend

By Justin Fenner

The industry loves nothing so much as throwing its weight behind a worthy cause, and this weekend, everyone from Diane von Furstenberg and Natalia Vodianova to Kate Moss and Taylor Tomasi Hill got dressed up to support one of three important evenings.

Friday night’s DVF Awards in New York honored women who strive to change the lives of other women around the world. Vodianova was honored with the Inspiration Award for her work with the Naked Heart Foundation, a charity she founded to help battle poverty in her native Russia.

Saturday night in Sao Paulo, Brazil, models including Kate Moss and Izabel Goulart gathered for amfAR’s Inspiration Gala. But back in the Big Apple, some of the biggest names in the business brought out their finest black-tie attire to attend the annual Save Venice masked ball, which drew a bevy of industry heavyweights like Prabal Gurung, Lauren Santo Domingo, and Kate Young. A look at all three events, here in the gallery.

Michelle Obama’s Easter 2013 Outfit Is A Prabal Gurung Repeat (PHOTOS)

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Easter fashion seems like a pretty great fit for Michelle Obama — the woman knows how to work florals.

For this year’s festivities, the first lady joined the rest of the first family for Easter services at St. John’s Episcopal Church wearing a lovely Prabal Gurung ensemble. The white dress and matching coat featured an oversized gray floral print (natch).

Think the dress looks familiar? That’s because FLOTUS wore it last June when she hosted former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush at the White House. That time, Michelle added a silver belt and opted not to wear the coat. Two years before that, Michelle wore the same dress (sans belt) to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.

Peter Som's Fall 2013 Show Will Happen

By Christina Perez

Fashion is a fast moving industry, and never has that seemed more apparent than in the last couple days. Actually, scratch that. Never has that seemed more apparent than just this morning. First came news that canceled show will go on as well. Sort of.

According to a press release, Prabal Gurung – and all have shows have been largely regarded as successes.

And why not? The digital format not only allows the industry a little breathing time during a frenzied week, but it also offers a great alternative to designers who may feel strapped by the burden of putting on a traditional show. “It’s designed to fall into a budget bracket that is between a static presentation and a full runway show,” KCD co-president Ed Filipowski told Vogue UK, in regards to the burgeoning trend. “We’re trying to fill a gap; to provide a service and create something in addition to what is already available.” With today’s designers juggling collaborations, reality TV, cosmetic launches, and mainline collections shown four times a year, it’s easy to understand why a digital show would be very appealing.

Peter Som’s Fall 2013 digital show will stream on Friday, Feb. 13 beginning at 9 a.m. EST. Press and buyers will be able to access the show on digitalfashionshows.com where they will also find information about the collection, including an interview with the designer, and backstage beauty shots.

Inauguration Celebration: See all of Michelle Obama's Looks

By Justin Fenner

What’s a woman to wear when she becomes first lady for the second time around? Michelle Obama chose a Thom Browne coat and dress for the official inaugural ceremonies, and she wore a mix of equally celebrated designers for the weekend leading up to Monday’s big celebrations.

The coat was inspired by fabrics used for men’s neckties, and Browne told CNN reporter Alina Cho that he picked navy blue because of the likelihood President Obama would wear a similar color.

“She’s such a strong woman,” he said in an interview with The New York Times. “I wanted her to feel good in it and to feel comfortable, strong, feminine, and beautiful.” Browne was asked to submit a design several months ago, but didn’t know that she would wear the coat and dress until today.

The first lady also wore shoes from J.Crew and a necklace designed by according to The Associated Press.

Prabal Gurung, among others. Observers will have to wait until tonight to find out which designer she’ll wear. Until then, a glimpse at all her other inaugural looks here in the gallery.

The Full Prabal Gurung For Target Lookbook Is Here (With Prices)

By Justin Fenner

It’s finally here: after months of anticipation, the full look book and prices for Prabal Gurung‘s collaboration with Target have arrived.

Gurung’s collection of ready-to-wear, accessories, and shoes will be available in Target stores and on its website from Feb. 10 to March 23, and prices will run from $13 to $200. The most expensive piece is a light blue leather biker jacket, while a few pieces of jewelry round out the lowest price point. The offering features a number of floral pieces, and everything in it speaks to Gurung’s modern and romantic aesthetic.

Speaking of romance, it’s fitting that this collaboration would launch so close to Valentine’s Day. Gurung said these clothes were made for falling in love.

“The collection is inspired by a girl’s journey through the different stages of love and the clothes she wears during each milestone – from the first date to meeting the parents to the engagement,” Gurung said.

A look at all the pieces, and their prices, here in the gallery.
