Was Diane Kruger Having an Off Year?

Was 2013 not Diane Kruger‘s year? Vanity Fair may think so. Among the shocking omissions and additions to the annual International Best-Dressed List, the ultrastylish dresser was excluded after having ranked in 2012.

Which isn’t to say there weren’t some stellar dressers on the list, which happily includes Kerry Washington, Jenna Lyons, Dree Hemingway, Caroline Issa, Lara Stone, Charlize Theron, Stella Tennant, and Tabitha Simmons. The Most Fashionable People on the 2013 Time 100

Time magazine’s annual list of the world’s 100 most influential people includes a handful of some of the industry’s most beloved characters, including Jenna Lyons and Michael Kors.

But it’s not just designers who represent the fashion community on this year’s list. Tadashi Yanai, the influential CEO of Fast Retailing – which backs Helmut Lang, Theory, and Uniqlo – is also on the list, and so is the Oscar-winning face of Miss Dior, Jennifer Lawrence. And while they might not have made the list this year, Prabal Gurung and Zac Posen made contributions to the list by writing about Lyons and Kors, respectively.

Jenna Lyons and Courtney Crangi Pose For V Magazine

“For me the best thing is knowing that someone really has your back,” says Jenna Lyons in an interview for the March issue of V Magazine. Also in the issue is result of Lyons’s first public photo shoot with her partner Courtney Crangi, a black-and-white portrait of the duo shot by Willy Vanderperre. In it, both women wear white shirts (Lyons’s is from J.Crew, naturally, while Crangi’s is from Rag & Bone) and both rave about each other.

“Like no matter what happens she has my best interests at heart,” Lyons says of Crangi. “I think there are a few moments in life where that actually happens, and that feels, like, completely true and real.”

Crangi repays the compliment, saying “I think the most amazing about Jenna, although there are many amazing things about her, is really her grace under pressure. She’s just incredibly gracious at all times.”

Lyons has certainly borne the increasing attention to her personal and professional life with grace. Just last month she opened up about her work and her relationship with Crangi to The New York Times. But what better way is there to announce one’s love to the world than a photo in a well-known magazine?

Jenna Lyons Opens Up About "Surprising" Love

After what many considered her coming out back in November at Glamour‘s Women of the Year Awards, Jenna Lyons has kept pretty mum in regards to her relationship with Courtney Crangi – until now. The J.Crew creative director and industry tastemaker got candid about her newfound love in a recent New York Times article.

“It’s just as surprising to me as it probably is to everyone else,” Lyons explained. “It certainly is strange to wake up, at 44, and look at the person next to you and think: ‘Oh! This wasn’t what I expected.’ But I don’t think love works that way, and I am O.K. with that.”
