La Vie en Rose: Karlie Kloss Stars in Moda Operandi's Flower-Filled Spring 2013 Ads

By Justin Fenner

Florals? For Spring? Absolutely. In Moda Operandi’s Spring 2013 campaign, Karlie Kloss dons some of the season’s prettiest flowery pieces, from an array of designers that includes Thom Browne, Rodarte, Suno, and Katie Ermilio, among others.

But photographer Cedric Buchet‘s dramatic campaign, which is called “La Vie en Rose,” doesn’t simply feature the flowers on the clothing. Instead, a number of blooms were digitally superimposed over the photos to create a buoyant visual effect. Some of the flowers float over Kloss’s lithe figure, while others simply fill whatever room she’s in.

A look at the campaign here in the gallery.

Thom Browne Fall 2013

By Melissa Liebling-Goldberg

For Fall 2013, Thom Browne could have capitalized on his new widespread fame as the man who dressed First Lady Michelle Obama for the inauguration, but he stayed on his own wild, theatrical path that he has always been known for in the smaller fashion community. Conjuring images of Alice in Wonderland and fantastical fairy tales, Browne sent out sharp, exaggerated shoulder jackets with full skirts, all over tights adorned with 3-D roses (models also carried rose bouquets in hand). While not exactly ready for stepping off the runway and onto Pennsylvania Avenue, the clothes demand your full attention — and interpretation.

Shop It Now: Thom Browne Pre-Fall 2013

By Christina Perez

Michelle Obama wore it, and now you can too. Available now at Moda Operandi, is coat that Mrs. Obama sported at the inauguration in DC on Monday.

Among the goodies are a handful of double-breasted dresses cut in the same navy silk tie jacquard, as well as a pleated dress in midnight blue whose silhouette bears a striking resemblance to that now-famous piece of outerwear. For those who admire Thom Browne‘s figure-enhancing cuts but do not wish to be the first lady’s mini me, there are also plenty of other gorgeous, menswear-inspired ensembles; our favorite is an extremely luxe-looking wool houndstooth ensemble made up of a crewneck shell, round-shouldered jacket, and knee-length pencil skirt.

Click through to see the entirety of the Thom Browne Pre-Fall 2013 pieces available for presale on Moda Operandi, and hurry – not only does the trunk show end Jan. 25, but judging by the amount of buzz Browne is currently receiving, these pieces are sure to be snapped up very soon.

Inauguration Celebration: See all of Michelle Obama's Looks

By Justin Fenner

What’s a woman to wear when she becomes first lady for the second time around? Michelle Obama chose a Thom Browne coat and dress for the official inaugural ceremonies, and she wore a mix of equally celebrated designers for the weekend leading up to Monday’s big celebrations.

The coat was inspired by fabrics used for men’s neckties, and Browne told CNN reporter Alina Cho that he picked navy blue because of the likelihood President Obama would wear a similar color.

“She’s such a strong woman,” he said in an interview with The New York Times. “I wanted her to feel good in it and to feel comfortable, strong, feminine, and beautiful.” Browne was asked to submit a design several months ago, but didn’t know that she would wear the coat and dress until today.

The first lady also wore shoes from J.Crew and a necklace designed by according to The Associated Press.

Prabal Gurung, among others. Observers will have to wait until tonight to find out which designer she’ll wear. Until then, a glimpse at all her other inaugural looks here in the gallery.
