‘The Walking Dead’: Is Milton A Goner? Dallas Roberts Joins ‘Unforgettable’

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Is it curtains for Milton on “The Walking Dead”?

Dallas Roberts, the actor behind the Governor’s (David Morrissey) right-hand man, has booked a gig on CBS’ revived series “Unforgettable,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

On the back-from-the-dead series, which will air this summer, Roberts will play Eliot, “a detective in charge of the major cases section of the NYPD. He’s ambitious and politically connected and was brought in to turn things around for the unit and bring the attention back to the department,” THR reports.

NY firefighter accused of stalking, bullying fellow firefighter

A Long Island firefighter is accused of repeatedly stalking and ridiculing another firefighter.

According to court papers, Long Beach firefighter Brian McNamara would walk back and forth outside John Ritter‘s home, cursing and vowing to haunt him forever. He allegedly screamed expletives and made fun of Ritter’s firefighters’ union shirt.

Newsday says McNamara pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor stalking through his lawyer on Wednesday. The judge issued a protective order barring McNamara from contacting Ritter and his wife.

The alleged bullying started in 2009.

McNamara, a firefighter since 2005, is freed on $100 bail.

McNamara made headlines in 2008 when he had two NYPD officers arrested when he was bludgeoned during a late-night dispute over comments made to his sister. The beating left him with two black eyes

NYPD program patrols inside private buildings

New York Police Department officers are patrolling inside private apartment buildings in a program known as Operation Clean Halls.

The program has been lauded by some residents who say they feel safer but vilified by others who say they’re being harassed at home. Many complain they’re illegally stopped and arrested.

More than two dozen people who say they were wrongly stopped have filed a federal lawsuit.

The program is the only one like it in a major U.S. city. It started in the 1990s, when crime was at all-time highs.

Now, there are more than 3,000 buildings around the city enrolled, mostly in higher-crime areas. To enroll, a building owner or manager signs paperwork allowing police to enter and arrest people found to be committing crimes.

Jury weighs fate of NYPD officer in alleged cannibal plot

The fate of a suspended New York City police officer accused of plotting to kill and cannibalize women he knew is in the hands of jurors after his defense lawyer told them in closing arguments that his elaborate plans were fantasy role-play and a prosecutor said they were “no joke.”

The jury resumed deliberations Friday after doing so for a little more than an hour the night before in the kidnapping conspiracy case brought against 28-year-old Officer Gilberto Valle. Valle is also charged with using a national database to learn personal information about potential targets. If convicted, he could face life in prison.

Before jurors received the case, defense attorney Julia Gatto said Valle’s chats on fetish websites about abducting, torturing and eating at least six women, including his wife, “are no more real than an alien invasion.”

But Assistant U.S. Attorney Hadassa Waxman said evidence showed Valle “left the world of fantasy and entered the world of reality.” The officer’s actions were “no joke,” she added. “It was not just sick entertainment.”

In a rebuttal argument given before the jury was to get the case, prosecutor Randall Jackson called Valle “a sexually sadistic individual.”

Jackson also said the alarming material uncovered by an analysis of Valle’s computers was like other investigations in which people are found “engaging in fantastical discussions about seeing planes exploding” — a comparison that prompted the defense to ask for a mistrial, arguing he was trying to frighten the jury with veiled reference to the Sept. 11 terrorist attack just blocks from the Manhattan courthouse. The judge disagreed and denied the motion.

The arguments capped a two-week trial in federal court. During the presentation of evidence, jurors sometimes appeared squeamish when shown sadistic images from Internet sites visited by Valle. The officer openly wept over his wife’s testimony describing how she uncovered his late-night computer activity, fled their home with their infant child and contacted the FBI.

Valle’s arrest last year interrupted a ghoulish plan to “kidnap, torture, rape and commit other horrific acts on young women,” Waxman said Thursday.

The prosecutor argued that the officer took concrete steps to further the plot — looking up potential targets on a restricted law enforcement database, searching the Internet for how to knock someone out with chloroform, and showing up on the block of one woman after agreeing to kidnap her for $5,000.

At trial, the jury heard the testimony of women who knew Valle and were trading innocent-sounding emails and texts with him at the same time prosecutors say he was scheming to make meals out of them. The government also sought to drive home the point that Valle was more of a threat because he was a police officer.

“Women who wanted no part of this were put in grave danger by that man, Gilberto Valle,” Waxman said as she pointed at him.

The defense claims Valle is being prosecuted for indulging in offensive-but-harmless fantasies fed by visits to websites meant solely for role play.

Gatto started her closing by reading from a 2012 Valle email saying, …read more

For New York Detectives, Facebook-Stalking Teens Is A Full-time Job

By Kashmir Hill, Forbes Staff

Fascinating tidbit in a New York Times story about the lengths to which the NYC Police Department is going to monitor troubled teens: Detectives spend hours, day and night, monitoring the Facebook pages and Twitter accounts of teenagers in the program, known as the Juvenile Robbery Intervention Program, or J-RIP, and of their criminal associates. To do so, detectives create a dummy Facebook page — perhaps employing a fake profile of an attractive teenage girl — and send out “friend requests” as bait to get beyond the social network’s privacy settings. In other words, the NYPD is employing the same tactics as an obsessed ex. …read more

British pen pal of NYC fetish cop: I'm no cannibal

A British man who chatted online with a New York City police officer about kidnapping and cooking women says the talk was “all fantasy.”

Dale Bolinger spoke briefly with reporters after his arrest in Canterbury, England, where he was being investigated in connection with the ongoing trial of NYPD officer Gilberto Valle.

Valle is accused of conspiring to capture and eat several women. But his lawyers say the supposed plots were all fantasies that he shared with other fetishists, and that he had no intention of carrying them out.

Bolinger has told newspapers including the New York Post (http://bit.ly/VUdkos) that none of that talk was real. But he calls himself “an idiot” for his behavior.

Valle’s trial in New York City is scheduled to resume Monday.

Death photos next at NYPD officer's cannibalism trial

The dark twists at the cannibalism trial of a New York police officer will continue if prosecutors succeed in showing jurors pictures of dead and dismembered people as they wrap up their case.

Defense lawyers are opposing the presentation Friday of as many as 34 ghastly exhibits of images the government says it took from Officer Gilberto Valle‘s computer.

U.S. District Judge Paul Gardephe said he’ll decide when the time comes whether jurors will see pictures of dead and mutilated women that defense lawyers say may have been saved on the 28-year-old officer’s computer automatically without him ever seeing them when he went on certain web sites.

The government says the exhibits include a picture of a dead body whose feet were not attached that Valle’s wife testified she saw when she went to one of his favorite Internet sites as she discovered why he stayed up late at night on the Internet.

The photographs were discussed out of the presence of jurors. They did hear an FBI agent testify that Valle’s New York Police Department supervisor was among women the officer considered a potential target for a kidnap and torture.

Developments Thursday were not limited to the courtroom. It was reported that a man considered to be one of Valle’s co-conspirators, identified in the U.S. case by the online name Moody Blues, had been detained but released in a separate case in Britain.

In Manhattan federal court, FBI agent Corey Walsh told jurors that a search of Valle’s computer turned up a file with multiple photos of a woman the agent identified as an NYPD officer who supervised Valle. The government had previously introduced a transcript of a February 2012 email exchange in which Valle offered a co-conspirator a menu of women he could abduct for rape and torture.

“The second girl listed is a cop — Evelyn, 33 years old,” Valle wrote.

“No I want a reg girl,” the man responded.

The revelation came as the defense sought to discredit allegations that Valle conspired with Internet friends to kidnap, kill and eat women, pressing Walsh on why some communications were deemed proof of a crime while others were deemed fantasies.

Defense attorney Robert Baum directed Walsh to obvious falsehoods in communications that the government has used as evidence Valle was a threat. In one, Moody Blues insisted he and Valle would need a secluded place to cook a woman alive.

“I have a place on the mountains,” Valle wrote. “Nobody’s around for three quarters of a mile.”

Asked if that was true, Walsh testified that authorities “are not aware of a place he had in the mountains.”

Valle has been held without bail since October, when he was arrested on charges of conspiring to kidnap women in a cannibalism plot born on the Internet. Throughout the trial, which began Monday, Valle’s lawyers have attacked government evidence as nothing more than the reflection of a man engaging in extreme sexual fantasies with like-minded people around the world. The government has conceded that Valle never met the purported Internet co-conspirators and no women …read more

Video: Check out this sneaky NYPD cop car disguised as a yellow cab

By Jonathon Ramsey

Filed under:

That’s no ordinary New York City yellow taxi in the image above; it’s a police cruiser for the New York City Police Department dressed up like an NYC yellow taxi. Captured in a short video on a Manhattan street corner, it is escorting an NYPD van behind it.

They don’t just use Crown Vics, either: NYC The Blog has video from two years ago of a motorist being pulled over by a Nissan Altima taxi. The blog also lets you know how to tell an undercover police cab from a proper taxi by comparing the license plate number to the medallion number on the cab’s roof – not that it would do you any good in your rearview mirror, though.

When the post was written two and a half years ago it was said that there were only eight such taxis prowling the naked city, and that their plates all began with “T800.” That’s not the case with the taxi in the video below, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the number has grown and now there are even more people in more places keeping an eye on you.

New York City police say they have a suspect in custody in the killing and dismembering of a 45-year-old woman.

The woman’s body was found in heavy duty plastic garbage bags by a man walking his dog Tuesday morning. Police say the head was in one bag, a leg and arm in another and a torso in a third. The cause of death has not yet been determined.

Police say a man has made statements implicating himself in the crime. His name hasn’t been released.

Police had cordoned off at least four separate locations on the streets surrounding the initial discovery.

Defense: NY cop a cannibal only in online fantasy

Gilberto Valle’s mind is full of sick thoughts — and he wants a jury to know it.

The New York City police officer accused of kidnapping conspiracy admits to thinking about abducting, cooking and devouring young women. His own lawyer has shown prospective jurors a kinky staged photo of a woman trussed up in a roasting pan to their test tolerance for the officer’s “weird proclivities.”

The baby-faced tabloid sensation known as the “Cannibal Cop” is even expected to take the stand to make the case that it was all fantasy, that his online chats were so offensive, so over-the-top that they couldn’t possibly be taken seriously.

If jurors were to believe that the countless people who visit fetish chat rooms were real cannibals, then where’s the horrific feeding frenzy?

It’s a gambit that will begin to play out Monday with opening statements in one of the city’s most bizarre federal court cases in recent memory.

Valle, a 28-year-old college grad and father, was just another NYPD patrolman until late last year, when he was charged with conspiring to kidnap a woman and unauthorized use of a law enforcement database.

Beyond the tabloid headlines that blared “Finest Young Cannibal” and “Cook ’em Danno,” the accusations were startling and serious: The FBI, following a tip from Valle’s estranged wife, unearthed an alleged plot to cook and eat dozens of women, all graphically detailed in a trail of emails, computer files and instant messages. A conviction on the kidnapping count carries a possible life sentence.

“I’m planning on getting me some girl meat,” he allegedly wrote in one chat room. “It’s this November, for Thanksgiving. … She’s not a volunteer. She has to be abducted.”

Another purported target was an 18-year-old high school student who Valle wrote was “the most desirable piece of meat I’ve ever met” and was small enough to fit in his oven.

A criminal complaint claimed that Valle had created a computer file cataloging at least 100 women with their names, addresses and photos. And it accused him of illegally culling some of the information from the restricted law enforcement database, and doing surveillance on some of his potential victims.

A New Jersey man also was charged …read more

Alec Baldwin Uses “C-Word!”

By capblack

Alec Baldwin SC Alec Baldwin Uses C Word!

Liberal heartthrob Alec Baldwin allegedly had a world-class Dem Crow attack where he recently called a Black New York Post photographer, among other things, a “coon.”

As if “drug dealer” and “crackhead” weren’t enough to call an American Black who’s also a retired NYPD officer?

Alec Baldwin used the “C-Word!” Will Obama and the Congressional Black Caucus ignore daily urban fratricide to banish him from Hollyweird liberaldom?

Not likely.

It warms my heart to see a high-profile member of the so-called “party of the little man” show just how little he always thought of the little man.

If true, don’t expect the pigmentary politburo ruling my figurative side of town (Black America) to fall over themselves chastising him.

That’s reserved for the likes of Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and other conservative white men whom liberals of all colors feel are America’s only racists.

I wonder what Baldwin’s lame excuse will be for this tirade, while worried millions of dollars may possibly slip through his fingers?

Exhaustion?

Demonic possession?

OD?

Bi-polar disorder?

At day’s end (and I could be grievously wrong), nothing will happen because he’s a Hollyweird Democrat, and the mainstream media would have to demonstrate rare integrity to punish him on the merits of this allegation.

We’ll see.

If he did deploy the “C-Word”, he quoted from the old school Democrat handbook on what to call Black folks.

Way to go, Alec!

Freedom Under Attack, Industry Fires Back!

By Avg Joe

guns SC Freedom under attack, Industry Fires Back!

Firearms manufacturers and suppliers are pushing back on the infringement of freedom. This is not a political ploy or a gimmick to increase sales; it is to save them from ultimate demise. They understand that their business depends on buyers, specifically private buyers. They are making the ultimate argument for the Second Amendment: if the people cannot possess the same weaponry as the government, tyranny will ensue. Some have vowed to cease sales to government agencies in states like New York, which just passed extreme restrictions on rifles and magazine capacities.

York Arms announced Thursday that it will cancel orders to any government or law enforcement agency inside New York State. York is located in Buxton Maine and is a manufacture of AR-15 rifle components and suppressors. A host of suppliers and manufacturers posted press releases on their web sites and Facebook pages indicating their new policy of not selling to law enforcement in states, cities, or government jurisdictions that have passed weapons or magazine restrictions, such as New York State.

Grass Roots North Carolina has joined in the fray supporting the manufacturers by posting the email addresses of government and law enforcement sales directors for Smith & Wesson, Glock, and Sig Sauer, encouraging its members to email the three handgun suppliers of the NYPD and ask them to implement similar policies.

The Colorado anti-gun Democrat-controlled House held a voice vote approving legislation to limit magazine capacity to 15 rounds. Town Hall reports that if the legislation passes next week, it could cost the state 600 manufacturing jobs. While some Democrats admit that magazine limitations will do little to stop gun violence, they are moving ahead with an official vote to make a statement. Magpul and Alfred Manufacturing have pledged to relocate if the bill becomes law.

Some of these manufacturers may not be far behind III ARMS’ concept of manufacturing communities in states that are more respectful of citizens’ rights. III Arms announced a few months ago that it was looking to build a walled community in Benewah County, Idaho to eventually house its manufacturing.

Suppliers and manufacturers understand where their bread is being buttered. They will be looking to exit states such as Colorado, California, and New York to name a few. Governments in Idaho, Texas, and Alaska should be sharpening their pencils in order to attract these companies and their jobs.

Courts v. Cops: The legal war on the war on crime

By BronxKnight

New York’s proactive style of policing is under assault from politicians and the media as never before. But the greatest threat lies in the courtroom, where three cases before a federal judge assert that the New York City Police Department’s practice of stopping, questioning, and sometimes frisking suspects is unconstitutional and racist. On January 8, the judge issued the first of her rulings in that trilogy of suits, holding that the NYPD routinely makes illegal trespass stops in the Bronx. The ruling was a bad enough blow for the NYPD in its own right, but it is even more disturbing as an augury of things to come. The decision makes clear that U.S. District Judge Shira Scheindlin will rule against the city in every stop-and-frisk case before her, decimating the police department’s ability to fight crime.

NYC lawmaker warns that killer may be targeting gay men in Queens

A New York City lawmaker is warning gay men that a killer may be targeting them in Queens.

MyFoxNY.com reports that Councilman Daniel Dromm says that two homosexual men have been murdered within a week of each other in his district, which encompasses the Jackson Heights and Elmhurst sections.

The first murder occurred at 32-23 91st St. on Feb. 3, and the second occurred one week later on Saturday at the Crown Motor Inn at 74-01 Queens Blvd.

In both cases, the middle-aged victims were strangled and no signs of forced entry were found, Dromm said.

The latest victim was reportedly identified as Joseph Benzinger, a 54-year-old man who recently retired from the Department of Sanitation.

Neighbors told DNAinfo.com that Benzinger was a friendly man who enjoyed going fishing with his father, who lived with him in the borough’s Middle Village section.

“He just helped my wife shovel the snow yesterday,” neighbor Rudy Borbor told the website. “When I first moved in … he came over and he said, ‘Rudy, if there’s anything I can do, let me know.'”

Borbor continued: “It breaks my heart. It really does. I feel for his father.”

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne told FoxNews.com that investigations into the homicides were ongoing, but said the murders do not appear to be related.

Court Says New York Times Doesn't Need To Know Exactly Who Owns Guns

By Kashmir Hill, Forbes Staff In December, a New York newspaper inspired a heated debate about transparency of public records after it published a (somewhat inaccurate) interactive map showing where all the gun owners in its community lived. After much criticism, a few death threats, and some legal concerns, the newspaper pulled the map down. This week, there’s an interesting development in the ongoing saga as to whether we should be able to map-stalk people with guns. A New York appellate court ruled in a different case that the NYPD doesn’t need to provide the New York Times with the addresses of gun owners because of privacy and safety concerns.
