NFL Star Loves to Bake, Help Others
By Joanne Camas A six-foot-six, 275-pound guy baking dainty cupcakes is an incongruous picture, but many things Israel Idonije does break the mold. Idonije, an NFL veteran, who was born in Nigeria and raised in Canada, was recently honored at the White House for his humanitarian work. His foundation works with kids in his hometown of Winnipeg, Chicago, and West Africa, and he’s a visible presence at his all-star camps for inner-city youth. Defensive lineman Odonije has played for the Chicago Bears for 10 years and took the field in the Super Bowl with the team, but has just signed a one-year contract with the Detroit Lions. While his foundation will remain headquartered in the Windy City, you can imagine Izzy, as he’s known to kids and friends alike, will find time to brighten lives in the troubled Motor City too. The Detroit Lions start training camp for the upcoming season tomorrow, but Odonije managed to find time to answer some questions for Epicurious by email. I know food’s always been a big part of your life – for example, you helped your parents collect food for needy families when you were a child. Does it surprise you that so many families in this country are “food insecure”? It doesn’t surprise me about the amount of hungry children and families in the U.S. It is a sad and unnecessary situation — there is so much wasted surplus. It would be wonderful if there were a system in place to get the surplus food to people in need. Your foundation does a lot of great work with kids. Do you include healthy eating programs? The Israel Idonije Foundation focuses on five keys to life success. One of those keys is self-awareness. Who are you? Who do you want to be? Through self awareness we have the opportunity to discuss living a healthy lifestyle and the role that healthy eating plays. I hear that you love to make cupcakes. Why’s that a favorite thing, and how did it start? I love banana bread. So I make banana bread cupcakes with a blueberry cream cheese icing. It started with watching and helping my mother bake — pies, bread, cookies…you name it. Do you eat them all (hey, you’re an athlete, you need energy!)? Or do you take them to share with your teammates? I eat half and take half to the office or give them away. And do your teammates think it’s ironic that such an athletic man bakes? LOL. I think a lot of the guys cook. What’s your favorite recipe? Two favorites that I love to eat but do not cook are pounded yam and Ogbono soup, both of which are Nigerian recipes. I also love a glass of Chapman — another Nigerian favorite!! Do you cook any other specialties or family favorites? With my eyes closed, I make a great cedar plank salmon with miso glaze, shepherd’s pie, and turkey lasagna. What do you like to eat before a big game? I eat…<div …read more

AC Troubleshooting help needed
By cesperon
Here’s the info I know about my house/system:
Furnace was replaced 2 years ago– Goodman brand.
Evaporator coil was also replaced 2 years ago (unsure of brand it is a A coil)
Outside Unit Trane XR11 2TTR1030A 2.5 ton 30,000 BTUH
House: 1 story ranch with basement 1000 sq foot built in 1964 and not much done to update it.– not a lot of windows but they aren’t great as far as energy efficiency.
It is a stacked unit in the basement.
4 cold air returns- two in basement at floor level and two in hallway along baseboards
Thermostat- Honeywell honeywell th6110d1005 focuspro programmable thermostat
Have ceiling fans in 3 rooms and each bedroom has an oscillating fan (house has 3 bedrooms 2 baths living room/kitchen great room.
Portable dehumidifier in basement draining into floor drain.
Here’s the story…
AC wasn’t cooling house. Checked filters, it was lying on its side and clean as a whistle so that means it had been running for a couple months with no filter. So my first guess was evaporator coil was filthy. I watched the Youtube videos- went out & bought coil cleaner & gave it a whirl saturated the evap coil & let it sit with the foam & them went outside to clean the pin coil… Outside was pretty nasty with cottonwoods so I completely took off the Hail Guard & sprayed it with coil cleaner & hosed it off and I got it clean as a whistle. Seemed to help for about a day– then it was HOT again.
Called HVAC tech (same company we’ve always used) he came out and did the following:
*checked the Freon said it was 70.1 PSI
*Checked the blower said it was on max
*Checked temp drop said it was 22 degrees…
BUT.. my cold air returns weren’t pulling air so he suggested duct cleaning.
Called Duct Cleaning Service- they came out. Had a LOT of dust and crap in vents. LOL they found mail from the ’80s in the return! (we have only owned the house since 03!) so I would say this was long past due. They said that with the amount of junk in the returns the A coil had to be filthy on the underside so we paid to have that cleaned. We were still not getting good airflow- they said they felt that the blower motor was going out.
Called back to HVAC company- pitched a fit & then sent the tech back. He rechecked everything & called Goodman to verify that …read more

UFO Near Alien Structure On Moon Found In Apollo 17 Photos, May 2013.
By ScottCWaring

Photo: http://wms.lroc.asu.edu/apollo/view?image_name=AS17-P-1589
Looking over some panoramic of the moon I discovered some unusual features. The two most intriguing were the UFO that looked like a weather balloon…I said looked like…not is LOL, and a metallic structure near it. I came to the conclusion that it is metallic due to the refraction of light as it hits the structure. The photo is large and if you want to find these structures they are the lighted area close to the middle or towards the right of that. These structures don’t give me any answers but are merely confirmation of what we know to be hidden from the public by world governments. I hope you like the video I made below. SCW
8 Surprising Ways To Be More Popular On Facebook
True confession: I’m way more popular on than I am in actual existence. Sorry, readers, but as a freelance writer, my best shot at an LOL in real life is asking my barista for a double grande, sugar-free, non-fat, half-caf, no foam, extra caramel, two-pump hazelnut macchiato with Sugar in the Raw under a dome lid and a venti straw. But on Facebook, it’s a whole other story. All I need to do is update my profile picture and I’m good for 15 or 16 “likes.” A witty comment on the day’s events and I’ll get 20 or more comments. When I really hit it out of the FB ballpark, I can generate dozens of what I call (well, to myself anyway) SLCs — shares, likes and comments. To me, Facebook is a game and here’s how to play it for maximum return.
LOL: Batman Breaks His One Rule
In College Humor‘s latest send-up of The Dark Knight, Batman squares off against Penguin (played by Patton Oswalt), who has to explain to the Caped Crusader what death actually is — which, as it turns out, is not the same as sleeping. Check out the video below (Warning: the comedic yet violent ending is probably NSFW):

Those simple one liners
By ahamed101
I mean, when things can be done with just a one liner, sometimes I tend to forgot those simple things and go for unwanted iterations.
Does this happen to you? You write a 10 liner and “HE” comes in with a one liner and you will be like “what?”. Can’t agree if someone says it cause of experience not in this case at least. May be our brain misses something sometimes and thinks too complex?

Amanda Bynes Tweets ‘I Want Drake To Murder My Vagina’
By The Huffington Post News Editors
Amanda Bynes definitely didn’t create the phrase “LOL,” but she may have the distinct honor of coining a charming little idiom.
On Thursday, the 26-year-old actress upped the ante on her bizarre tweets, when she wrote that she wanted Drake to murder her vagina:
