On Thursday, Huma Abedin had been flogged across the airwaves by the MSM as being “intelligent,” “delicate,” “brave” and was lauded for “standing by her man.” The degenerate Anthony Weiner had “made a mistake.” Several, actually. Why the deafening cacophony of praise? Because Abedin and the State Department are under Senate investigation and MSM is trying to deflect damaging public scrutiny of Abedin/Hillary/State Department wrongdoing.
If the investigation sinks Abedin, it might also derail a potential presidential run by Hillary Clinton in 2016. Abedin and Hillary are indiscrete in more ways than one.
According to FOX News “Abedin is facing her own troubles — less salacious than her husband’s, but potentially more severe.”
Abedin was Hillary Clinton’s deputy chief of staff at the State Department. The title changed, according to Politico, when Abedin took maternity leave during the summer of 2012. Clinton awarded her bosom buddy of 15 years the title of “special government employee.”
Abedin’s part-time labors on behalf of the State Department netted her an annual salary of $135,000 — $155,000 with benefits. The status change was kept secret. It was unearthed by The Politico in May, 2013. Being a “special government employee” gave Abedin plenty of time with her new family but it also permitted Abedin to pursue other, more lucrative jobs while on the government payroll.

Automotive News is reporting a serious backlash from car dealers regarding the North American Dealers Association’s choice of keynote speaker for the annual industry confab in January: former first lady and secretary of state, Hillary Clinton.
AN spoke to one dealer that not only cancelled his trip to the NADA conference, but revoked his dealership’s membership outright over the association with Clinton. In defense of its choice, NADA Chairman David Westcott argued that the dealer advocate wanted “somebody well-known, with a name – a draw.”
Still, NADA members aren’t pleased with the choice, with dealers delivering a barrage of angry messages since Clinton’s selection, according to Automotive News. Some of the angry messages relate to the former secretary of state’s politics, no doubt, but some might just be upset about the expense of such a big-name speaker – AN cited media reports that Clinton commands about $200,000 per speech.
NADA isn’t backing down, though, with its president, Peter Welch, delivering a level-headed response to AN’s inquiry about the choice: “Our job is to provide our members with exposure to all facets of business and government that can affect their dealerships. Like her or not, Senator Clinton is perhaps the most prominent woman of modern times.”

I wasn’t surprised to learn that sometime before the 2016 election, NBC will be releasing a four-hour miniseries about Hillary Clinton starring Academy Award nominee Diane Lane. What did surprise me was that the series will cover none of her life before the Monica Lewinsky scandal, which took place five years into her husband’s second term as president and when Hillary was already 51 years old. It’s as if her first half-century will be airbrushed away, along with the many scandals that dogged her in those decades.
While the series will still have a lot of ground to cover — impeachment and the “vast right-wing conspiracy” she suspected, her successful 2000 Senate race, her loss to Barack Obama in the 2008 primaries, her time as secretary of state and her role in the Benghazi debacle — it’s striking that so much rich material will be excluded even before footage is discarded on the cutting-room floor.
Just consider what we’ll be missing.
Health-Care Gate: In 1997, federal judge Royce Lamberth levied $286,000 in sanctions against Bill Clinton’s administration for “running amok” in a “cover-up” of Hillary Clinton’s health-care task force. The scandal began when deputy White House counsel Vincent Foster made contradictory assertions about the first lady’s job status, in an attempt to keep the work of the task force secret. Foster later committed suicide, and a Secret Service agent saw Hillary Clinton’s chief of staff, Margaret Williams, carry boxes of papers out of Foster’s office before investigators showed up to seal it.

The world is celebrating Nelson Mandela Day with acts of community service and messages of goodwill to the former South African president who remains hospitalized on his 95th birthday. Here are some of the international events:
UNITED NATIONS: The U.N. hosted an informal General Assembly in honor of Mandela with former United States President Bill Clinton and co-prisoner and Mandela friend Andrew Mlangeni scheduled to speak. U.N. staff also helped to rebuild homes in Long Island destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.
WASHINGTON: The Congressional Black Caucus celebrated the life and legacy of Mandela at the Emancipation Hall in the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center. House Speaker John Boehner and South Africa’s ambassador to the United States Ebrahim Rasool were among guests slated to speak at the ceremony.
NEW YORK: The Tribeca Film Institute partnered with the Nelson Mandela Foundation to commemorate Mandela Day with a video display in Times Square and a meeting in Duffy Square. A picture of a Mandela portrait by South African artist Paul Blomkamp with the words “Happy 95th Birthday Madiba!” was featured on a Times Square monitor throughout the day.
TORONTO: A community celebration featuring live music and family activities was at the Nelson Mandela Park Public School.
PARIS: The South African embassy in Paris hosts its annual Nelson Mandela Day drive to collect clothes, toys and non-perishable food items for charity. The embassy accepts donations until Aug. 31. The Hotel de Ville hosts a free exhibition, “Nelson Mandela: from Prisoner to President,” where visitors can learn about Mandela’s journey through films, photographs and sculptures. The exhibition will run through July 6.
ROME: An exhibit about Mandela’s life at an anti-racism center was visited by South Africa’s ambassador to Italy, Nomatemba Tambo.
INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION: Three astronauts from the International Space Station honored Mandela in a video message that included words from Desmond Tutu, the Dalai Lama and Bill and Hillary Clinton, among others.
“Nelson Mandela is the symbol of what humankind must strive for: Peace, brotherhood and a common goal to better every life on this planet. Our work here on the International Space Station mirrors exactly what Mr. Mandela spent his life trying to accomplish,” astronaut Karen Nyberg said for the group.

In May, I shared with you the details about 172 House members visiting over 90 countries and every continent except Antarctica in 2012 – all on your dime. But members of the U.S. House of Representatives actually travel modestly compared to the VIP travel undertaken by Obama’s friends and appointees.
And of course, any travel review needs to start with the travel queen of the last four years, Hillary Clinton.
Hillary traveled at a record-setting pace, journeying 956,733 miles and setting foot in 112 countries. This adds up to 2,084 hours spent flying around the world, which is equivalent to 86 whole days spent aboard her government-issued luxury jetliner. And how do we know these facts? Because she likes to brag about them.
But when it comes to costs, your guess is as good as mine. Despite repeated Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, her department refuses to come clean about how much this travel cost U.S. taxpayers.
Ironically, Obama’s “most transparent administration in history” works hard to hide the details of the luxurious globe-trotting. But thanks to some hard work by lawyers using the Freedom of Information Act, some other portions of the travel details are beginning to surface.
And That’s Only the Beginning…
It’s only proper that Attorney General Eric Holder tells us how much his travels cost, since he’s the federal officer in charge of FOIA compliance. While he hasn’t been too diligent about asking others to comply, he did comply himself – to some degree.
From his disclosures, we learned that during 2011, Holder filed 62 long-distant jaunts that cost us, at a minimum, $1.45 million. However, he refused to disclose flight costs for seven major trips out, including travels to China, Hawaii, and Brussels.
Holder’s travelling includes an April 2011 sojourn to Las Vegas, mixing business and personal travel, which totaled $46,358. Other “personal” trips, including visits to Martha’s Vineyard and Miami, cost us taxpayers a whopping $169,502.
And of course there’s Joe Biden. Today, we learned that the vice-president’s six-day trip to South America and the Caribbean included one 20-hour stop in Trinidad and Tobago that cost an astounding $245,000. As has become standard, the contract was awarded without “full and open competition” because of security and logistical concerns.
Yet the scariest part is that, while the travel for administration officials sounds expensive to those of us who pay our own bills while flying coach or driving on our summer trips, these Obama appointees don’t even hold a candle to Michelle and Barack.
First, there was Michelle Obama’s 2012 President’s Day weekend ski vacation to Aspen, Colorado with her two daughters. The total cost for the Aspen ski vacation was at least $83,182.99. The bill for the U.S. Secret Service, including accommodations at the Fasching Haus deluxe condominiums and the Inn at Aspen, came to $48,950.38. The cost for the flight, per official DOD published hourly rates, was $22,583.70. Food and miscellaneous on-flight items cost $235.44. The cost for rental cars totaled $6,442.23.

Employees of a Washington, D.C.-based accounting firm that federal prosecutors called an “assembly line for illegal campaign contributions” donated more than $500,000 to federal candidates and committees over the past 10 years, including nearly $50,000 to Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, according to a Center for Public Integrity review of records.
An employee and a consultant for the firm, formerly run by Jeffrey Thompson, pleaded guilty last month in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to making so-called straw donations to several federal and D.C. campaigns. The two men — Lee Calhoun and Stanley Straughter — made donations in their names and their family members’ names and were then reimbursed by Thompson or his firm, Thompson, Cobb, Bazilio & Associates.
The charges stem from a federal investigation of the 2010 campaign of Washington, D.C., Mayor Vincent Gray. At the center of the probe is Thompson, who has been implicated by prosecutors as the financier of an illegal, off-the-books $650,000 “shadow campaign” that federal prosecutors say helped get Gray elected.
An analysis of campaign finance records provided by the Center for Responsive Politics found that Thompson and other donors who listed the accounting firm as their employer have given at least $514,350 to federal candidates and political action committees since the 2002 campaign cycle, including $36,900 from Calhoun, the employee who pleaded guilty last month.
The biggest beneficiary of those funds was former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, whose campaigns took in $50,400. Clinton’s presidential campaign committee received $40,300 from employees at Thompson’s firm in November 2007, when she attended an intimate fundraiser at the company’s headquarters in downtown D.C., according to three people who were at the event.

Anthony Weiner officially kicked off his New York mayoral campaign late Tuesday with a video announcement posted to YouTube.
The former New York congressman resigned in 2011 after posting a lewd photo of himself on Twitter. Weiner– who is married to former top aide to Hillary Clinton, Huma Abedin, with whom he now has a son– lied and said his account had been hacked. He later admitted to sending inappropriate online messages to six women.
Since his resignation, Weiner had remained largely out of the spotlight until last month, when in a New York Times Magazine profile, he didn’t rule out the possibility of running again for mayor of New York City. He launched a campaign in 2009, but later dropped out.

President Barack Obama couldn’t avoid questions about Hillary Clinton potentially running for president in 2016 during a recent interview on NBC’s “Today” show.
Speaking with NBC’s Savannah Guthrie in an interview recorded last week and aired Wednesday morning, Obama steered clear of assuming anything about Clinton’s White House plans. But he also appeared happy to praise his former secretary of state, who departed the administration earlier this year.
“Do you miss her around here?” Guthrie asked.

The story of what happened in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 has been narrated by a schizophrenic.
Or so it seems.
On September 11, 2012, four Americans were murdered in Benghazi: Ambassador Chris Stevens, Communications Specialist Sean Smith, and former SEALS Ty Woods and Glen Doherty.
For weeks, the Obama administration blamed a “protest turned violent” over an amateurish anti-Muslim YouTube video.
Susan Rice hit the Sunday news show circuit with this story—five news shows in one day!
Hillary Clinton crooned for the State Department hit parade, even co-starring with Barry Obama in a $70,000 commercial apologizing to “our Muslim friends in Pakistan” who were rioting and tearing apart their countries because they hated America so much.
And our own rock star President took his “protest turned violent” road show to the United Nations, delivering a long-winded speech about how evil it was for an American citizen to exercise his right to free speech by making the “anti-Muslim” YouTube video.
And as a cherry on top, they imprisoned the producer of the video for so-called “probation violations.” Where the producer of the video—Nakoula Basseley Nakoula—now is, God only knows. Obama probably whisked him off to some rendition camp in Karachi.
Well, it turned out that it was a terrorist attack, except no one seemed to know who told Susan Rice, Hillary Clinton, and the President of the United States that it was caused by a YouTube video.
It turned out that Obama was informed that the al-Qaeda-linked group Ansar al-Sharia had claimed responsibility for the attack within two hours.
It turned out from a series of hacked emails from Bill Clinton crony Sidney Blumenthal to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that Ansar al-Sharia attacked the consulate and CIA annex in retaliation for the CIA’s involvement in the Libyan civil war—on Muammar Gaddafi’s side. We also know from a Blumenthal February 16, 2013 email that the attack on the consulate was funded by our so-called allies, the Saudis.
And it turned out that Benghazi was a hub for funneling weapons and cash to the al-Qaeda-linked Syrian rebels.
But this only scratched the surface. There was something much more nefarious going on in Benghazi—if that’s possible—and the Obama administration wanted to keep a tight lid on it.
What was the Obama administration doing in Benghazi that was so top secret, in which the thirty odd survivors have been kept under lock and key, prohibited from speaking to Congress or anyone else for that matter?
We know from the recently published book, Benghazi: The Definitive Report, that Obama’s chief counter terrorism officer at the time, John Brennan—now CIA chief—had been secretly involved in the Libyan civil war. Through a secret black ops unit—operating not only outside the purview of Congress, but outside the purview of the Pentagon and the CIA—John Brennan, like an errant knight over his own fiefdom, conducted his secret war in Libya. There was only one Jack Kemp. God knows we need his all-American appeal to conservative and urban audiences at a time when the GOP is attempting frenzied “minority outreach.”
(I put “minority outreach” in quotes because involvement is more my cup of tea.)
That aside, Senator Rand Paul’s Howard University speech set the outreach march on steadier ground.
Instead of sounding like a Democrat with a removable “R,” he was himself, which is all American blacks (pro and con) should ask of him.
I don’t think I’m alone is saying I don’t need White folks adopting minstrel show phony drawls (see Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden), nor drop obvious applause lines based upon our religious or civil rights experience.
Just talk to us.
From the podium and during Q & A, he addressed his stance on issues like the Civil Rights Act that got him in hot water in the past.
One mistake I think Black folks make is demanding that those far removed from our community magically address us as if they’ve been lifelong insiders.
Rand Paul is obviously a White male libertarian and Republican US senator. Some of his conclusions on the GOP or icons like Ronald Reagan differ from those of the Black liberal mainstream.
That his conclusions differ from those of the Black liberal mainstream doesn’t necessarily make him a villain.
American Blacks of Paul’s generation should focus less on what happened in the past and more on what can be done now to distance ourselves from the limitations of yesteryear.
Rand Paul was born in the South three years ahead of me. We came of age in a region forced to confront its Apartheid by federal troops and legislative leveraging from the White Hosue and Capitol Hill.
A lot of Black liberals will charge that he doesn’t “get” Black folks. I wonder: does “Mt. Negro Dialect” Harry Reid “get” us any better?
I’d argue that Rand Paul’s decriminalization of what he calls “victimless drug crimes” alone has the potential to liberate several generations of Black men who chose drug-dealing as a profession.
That stance resonates far more with the Black liberal (and parts of the conservative) mainstream than with anti-drug hardliners like myself.
I consider crack, heroin, meth, and other chemical angels of slow motion death to be nothing less than satanic in their design and impact.
Drug decriminalization is a big libertarian coalition builder, and within it lies the glue for adding American Blacks who feel that the War on Drugs is racist.
This topic, along with libertarian aversion to intrusive policing and an aptly named “warfare state,” were rightly shared by Paul at Howard University– just like he does elsewhere.
I think he did ok during his Howard University speech, precisely because he remained himself and didn’t deviate from trademark philosophical positions.
I expect White folks to be themselves and not put on patronizing productions designed to pacify us.
Rand Paul did ok at Howard University and thus far is ok by me as someone offering the GOP political viagra if they’re willing to take it.

Back in 2009, 11 days after becoming the first illegal alien to hold the office of President, Barack Hussein Obama, citizen of Indonesia, was nominated for (and shortly thereafter awarded) the Noble Peace Prize. It appears to have been awarded on the basis of his skin color and his uber-liberal, leftist outlook on life, the universe, and everything. It certainly was not based on anything he had done, or what he would do in the future.
When Obama took power, one of the big issues he ran on was that our actions had made the Islamic world hate us. This has been the position of the radical left, too, that 9/11 was brought upon us by our arrogance and militaristic interference in the affairs of Islamic countries in various parts of the world. Obama, The Messiah, The One, vowed to change that by, it turns out, arrogance and militaristic interference in the affairs of Islamic countries in various parts of the world. The instances are many, but let’s look at a few of the most egregious.
Iraq and Afghanistan have been turned from difficult situations into unmitigated disasters. The mind-bogglingly inept and incompetent handling of both wars by Obama, the State Department, and what Obama has turned into the Department of Surrender, has led to huge and continuing death and casualty counts of both soldiers and civilians. In addition, the governments of both countries have become increasingly hostile towards us, with the increasing possibility that Islamist extremists will end up in control of of them; and all of the deaths of our brave, young heroes will have been in vain.
The war in Libya, of course, was not only a totally uncalled for and completely unjustified interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation; it was an action that violated U.S. federal law, the War Powers Act. Consent from Congress, supposedly the representatives of We the People, was neither asked for nor granted. The result was chaos and the brutal murder of a leader who had the support of a large percentage, if not an actual majority, of his countrymen. In the end, radical Islamists rose in power and stature; and the promised freedom for the downtrodden never materialized.
Not long after, a State Department (read: CIA) compound in the Libyan city of Benghazi was attacked and overrun by radical Islamists allied with al-Queda, an organization Obama and his Ministry of Propaganda (aka the Mainstream Media) swore was defeated, dispersed, and no longer a threat. While Obama and Hillary Clinton, then Secretary of State, did nothing to help and in fact appear to have hindered rescue efforts, four Americans (government employees including our ambassador) were savagely murdered. Obama and Clinton, with the complicity of the media, have worked feverishly ever since to cover up their heinous (in)actions.

NEW YORK— Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has a book deal.
She is working on a memoir and policy book about her years as secretary of state, Simon & Schuster told The Associated Press. The book has yet to be titled and is tentatively scheduled for June 2014. Financial terms weren’t disclosed. Clinton reportedly received $8 million for the 2003 memoir, “Living History,” also published by Simon & Schuster.
“Hillary Clinton’s extraordinary public service has given her a unique perspective on recent history and the challenges we face,” Jonathan Karp, president and publisher of the Simon & Schuster Publishing Group and the book’s editor, said in a statement Thursday. “This will be the ultimate book for people who are interested in world affairs and America’s place in the world today.”
By launching her book tour in June 2014, Clinton will travel the country as Democrats work to recapture the House in the fall midterm elections. Her itinerary will be closely scrutinized for any signs she may run for president in 2016 — any book tour events in early voting states like Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina would receive broad attention.
As with “Living History,” Clinton was represented by Washington attorney Robert Barnett, who has handled deals for President Barack Obama and Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton. Karp previously served as editor for another Barnett client, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, and his memoir “True Compass.”
