‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ At Comic-Con: Sony Brings Spidey, ‘Robocop’ & More To San Diego (LIVE UPDATES)

By The Huffington Post News Editors

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” hit into Comic-Con 2013 on Friday with stars Andrew Garfield, Jamie Foxx and Dane DeHaan joining director Marc Webb in Hall H for some friendly neighborhood rabble-rousing. (Co-stars Emma Stone, Felicity Jones and Chris Cooper were not scheduled to appear.)

The last time this team came to San Diego for the annual geek event was in 2011, when Garfield — who plays the title webslinger — dressed as Spider-Man and fooled many attendees into thinking he was just another fan before revealing himself to the surprised crowd. Speculation in the lead up to “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” panel was that Garfield would try to top that viral event by swinging onto the stage.

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” which Sony is set to release on May 2, 2014, wasn’t the only big feature the studio brought into Hall H. Other Sony films teased included the upcoming “RoboCop” remake and “Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2.”

Zombieland TV Series Poster Revealed

The poster has been revealed for Zombieland, Amazon’s new TV take on the hit movie. The writers of the hit film, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, have returned to write and executive produce this new take on their story, which picks up just a couple of weeks after the events of the film, with Kirk Ward, Maiara Walsh, Tyler Ross and Izabela Vidovic playing Tallahassee, Wichita, Columbus and Little Rock – the characters played in the film by Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin.

HuffPost TV debuted the poster for Zombieland, which will be made available for free as a standalone pilot on Amazon in April, along with several other new pilots. Viewer feedback will determine which of the pilots gets picked up to series.

‘Zombieland’ Writers Rhett Reese And Paul Wernick On Adapting The 2009 Film As A Series

By The Huffington Post News Editors

The long rumored sequel to the surprise 2009 hit “Zombieland” seems to be dead at this point. (Not zombie dead. Really dead.) The reason — and the good news for fans of the film — is that Amazon has ordered a 13-episode series that continues the adventures of Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock as they make their way through the zombified wasteland of the United States.

Now, adapting a film into a television series isn’t too much of a stretch in this case, considering that the original film was supposed to be a series in the first place. We spoke to the two writers of the new “Zombieland” pilot, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who also wrote the film and are currently on a press tour to promote their new film, “G.I. Joe: Retaliation.” Reese and Wernick explained the process of adapting the film and talked about replacing its stars, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin.

The “Zombieland” series with Amazon sounds really interesting. But at the same time, does this kill any chance of a sequel?

Michael Keaton: From Batman to Birdman

Actors Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, and Naomi Watts will join Zach Galifianakis in Birdman, a new dark comedy from director Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu.

Before you get too excited, it’s not exactly what it sounds like. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Keaton will play an aging actor who once portrayed an iconic superhero — sound familiar? — as he gears up for a Broadway play based on a Raymond Carver short story in an attempt to reclaim his former glory. However, the show’s conceited leading man threatens to throw everything down the tubes. (Keaton, of course, portrayed Batman in the 1989 and 1992 feature films directed by Tim Burton, which should lend itself to this.)

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Emma Stone doesn’t tweet — well, let’s just say she NEVER tweets.

But yesterday afternoon the 24-year-old actress posted a bizarre message on Twitter, which made absolutely no sense. That is until Perez Hilton figured out that it was an anagram for something that might suggest there’s trouble in paradise for Stone and her on-screen and real-life beau, “Amazing Spider-Man” co-star Andrew Garfield, 29.

Stone tweeted this around 3 p.m. yesterday, but has since taken the post down. (Luckily, a HuffPost reporter took a screen grab).
