Spder-Man Appears At Comic-Con To Debut Footage From New Movie

By The Huffington Post News Editors

SAN DIEGO — Spider-Man himself made an appearance at Comic-Con, scaling nearby hotels to swoop into a panel in the San Diego Convention Center’s largest exhibition hall.

Andrew Garfield, who plays the web-slinging superhero in “The Amazing Spider-Man” and its forthcoming sequel, was nowhere in sight. The actor only joined the panel once Spidey left.

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ At Comic-Con: Sony Brings Spidey, ‘Robocop’ & More To San Diego (LIVE UPDATES)

By The Huffington Post News Editors

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” hit into Comic-Con 2013 on Friday with stars Andrew Garfield, Jamie Foxx and Dane DeHaan joining director Marc Webb in Hall H for some friendly neighborhood rabble-rousing. (Co-stars Emma Stone, Felicity Jones and Chris Cooper were not scheduled to appear.)

The last time this team came to San Diego for the annual geek event was in 2011, when Garfield — who plays the title webslinger — dressed as Spider-Man and fooled many attendees into thinking he was just another fan before revealing himself to the surprised crowd. Speculation in the lead up to “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” panel was that Garfield would try to top that viral event by swinging onto the stage.

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” which Sony is set to release on May 2, 2014, wasn’t the only big feature the studio brought into Hall H. Other Sony films teased included the upcoming “RoboCop” remake and “Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2.”

This Time, Iron Man Will Crush Spidey

By Tim Beyers, The Motley Fool

Filed under:

For all his success, Robert Downey Jr., as Iron Man, has never proven to be as popular as either Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield, both of whom have played Spider-Man on the big screen. All that could change when Iron Man 3 debuts on May 3.

The film could follow in the footsteps of Marvel’s The Avengers, and bring Walt Disney another billion-dollar box office, says Tim Beyers of Motley Fool Rule Breakers and Motley Fool Supernova in the following video.

Sony‘s best performance from a Spidey film came in 2007, when Sam Raimi’s  Spider-Man 3 earned $90.9 million worldwide, according to data supplied by Box Office Mojo.

Do you agree that Iron Man 3 will top that total? Please watch, and then leave a comment to let us know what you think of Disney’s plans to expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Fashion Darling Frank Ocean Now Modeling For Band of Outsiders

By Justin Fenner

If his front-row presence at the Fall 2013 shows in Paris wasn’t indication enough, it’s getting clearer that the industry loves Frank Ocean. Band of Outsiders‘ Scott Sternberg verified that affection by casting Ocean in the brand’s Spring 2013 Polaroid campaign.

Ocean posed for the images in looks from the brand’s Spring 2013 collection at the Los Angeles Times building earlier this month. Four of Sternberg’s shots were released Wednesday, but the brand plans to unveil a total of 23 images on its Instagram and Tumblr accounts in the coming days.

The singer joins a roster of stars including Michelle Williams, Amy Adams, Jason Schwartzman, and Andrew Garfield, among others, who have posed for the campaign in the past. A look at the first batch here in the gallery.

Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield Relationship Trouble? Actress Posts Bizarre Tweet About Shailene Woodley

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Emma Stone doesn’t tweet — well, let’s just say she NEVER tweets.

But yesterday afternoon the 24-year-old actress posted a bizarre message on Twitter, which made absolutely no sense. That is until Perez Hilton figured out that it was an anagram for something that might suggest there’s trouble in paradise for Stone and her on-screen and real-life beau, “Amazing Spider-Man” co-star Andrew Garfield, 29.

Stone tweeted this around 3 p.m. yesterday, but has since taken the post down. (Luckily, a HuffPost reporter took a screen grab).

Speaking to TheHuffingtonPost, Raimi revealed that he hasn’t actually seen the recent reboot.

“I’m a big Marc Webb fan and a giant fan of Emma Stone,” he explained. “And of Andrew Garfield. I saw him on Broadway in Death of a Salesman; it’s just brilliant. And I love the producers of that movie because they are dear friends, and the writer. But, I haven’t had the guts to go see the movie yet. Because I don’t want to go to my girlfriend’s wedding. I just can’t bring myself to do it. I don’t have the guts.”
