They {those who follow Islam} act this way because they’re fed lies/mis-information. They are not in any way sub-human as I believe Christ died for all people. Islam is a controlling religion. Unlike Christ who frees us. Would you agree?
In talking via PM to another member this may not have been clear. I’d like to start a new thread on this subject and in particular clarify this claim: Unlike Christ who frees us.
What do you think of when you read that statement?
God bless,
GE

Thousands of protesters have jammed downtown streets outside the Madrid headquarters of the ruling Popular Party to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy amid allegations he received payoffs from a slush fund before his party won elections in 2011.
The demonstration Thursday came after opposition leaders called for Rajoy to explain himself before Parliament or face a censure vote.
On Monday, Rajoy brushed off demands he should resign after text messages emerged showing him comforting a former political party treasurer under investigation over the slush fund and secret Swiss bank accounts. The treasurer has claimed Rajoy took under the counter payments, accusations denied by Rajoy.
The spectacle of alleged greed and corruption has enraged Spaniards hurting from austerity and sky high unemployment.

For those of us without degrees in molecular biology, the idea of “personalized medicine” – or PM – can often seem like a vague and distant concept. In this case, the Wikipedia definition of PM is pretty good: Personalized medicine or PM is a medical model that proposes the customization of healthcare – with medical decisions, practices, and/or products being tailored to the individual patient. The use of genetic information has played a major role in certain aspects of personalized medicine, and the term was even first coined in the context of genetics (though it has since broadened to encompass all sorts of personalization measures). To distinguish from the sense in which medicine has always been inherently “personal” to each patient, PM commonly denotes the use of some kind of technology or discovery enabling a level of personalization not previously feasible or practical. Wikipedia.org Definition of Personalized Medicine According to a press release posted on the American Association for Cancer Research website (here), the National Cancer Institute marked a major milestone earlier this week with the public release of the world’s largest database of cancer related genetic variations. “To date, this is the largest database worldwide, containing 6 billion data points that connect drugs with genomic variants for the whole human genome across cell lines from nine tissues of origin, including breast, ovary, prostate, colon, lung, kidney, brain, blood, and skin. We are making this data set public for the greater community to use and analyze. This comes at a great time, because genomic medicine is becoming a reality, and I am very hopeful this valuable information will change the way we use drugs for precision medicine.” Yves Pommier, M.D., Ph.D., Chief of the Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD Also from the AACR release was this additional insight: Pommier and colleagues conducted whole-exome sequencing of the NCI-60 human cancer cell line panel, which is a collection of 60 human cancer cell lines, and generated a comprehensive list of cancer-specific genetic variations. Preliminary studies conducted by the researchers indicate that the extensive data set has the potential to dramatically enhance understanding of the relationships between specific cancer-related genetic variations and drug response, which will accelerate the drug development process. The data generated in this study provide means to identify new determinants of response and mechanisms of resistance to drugs, and offer opportunities to target genomic defects and overcome acquired resistance, according to Pommier. To enable this, the researchers are making these data available to all researchers via two database portals, called the CellMiner database and the Ingenuity systems database. While the ability to sequence human genomes has been relatively rapid and increasingly cost-effective, the ability to make sense of the data being created can often take months or even years. …read more

I know there have been many threads on EK System 2000 mine is not another how good is it or anything, I guess it is ok, I bought a house that already had it so I am stuck with it for now. What I would like to know is does anyone out there most likely from NH that know of anyone that services them in southern NH? I have called EK and they gave a a few but a couple of the companies are oil dealers and I do not trust them to make my system as efficient as it can be since they sell oil and they won’t even work on it unless you are one of their customers anyway. So I would like to know if any one can PM me some heating/plumbing people that know or have worked on EK System 2000 and also if any of you know of good site to purchase parts for the system 2000 like a plate heat exchanger? Thanks.

Long-term investors know two important things — dividends are excellent and good companies are built to last. In a rapidly changing marketplace, those two factors can be difficult to find in the same company. Some high-yielding dividends are high simply because the companies are slowly sinking. On the other hand, some good, rock-steady brands pay horrible dividends. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t find a diamond in the rough every now and then. Here are three companies with solid dividends that aren’t going anywhere.
You already know them by name
If you’re really looking at dividend investing, then you might end up with shares in companies with names like East-West Fire and Power, LLC, PM, DPRK, based in Fireville, N.D. That’s not a bad thing, but there’s something to be said for investing in what you really know. I know retail, so when I’m looking for dividends I start with the companies that I understand.
Looking through who’s paying out, I’m struck by Target , Nordstrom , and Hasbro . Now that’s not to say that they’ve got the highest yields in the market, but they have a decent yield, and I trust that in 15 or 50 years, they’ll all be around to keep the cash coming in.
Important points to watch
Having a nice little dividend isn’t enough. We want to make sure that these companies are growing and that they’re generating the kind of cash that they need to fuel those dividends. Let’s start with the payout. Over the last five years, Target has paid an average of 2%, Nordstrom has hit 2.5%, and Hasbro kicked out 3%.
That high dividend from Hasbro comes at a cost, and the company’s payout ratio is by far the highest. Over the last few years, it’s climbed to 68%, which is well above both the 29% at Target and the 30% Nordstrom pays out. That means that Hasbro has less money it can spend on its business, and it may have to cut back on its dividend if it needs extra cash in the future.
As you can see in the chart below, Hasbro is in the middle of the pack for total return over five years, but it’s also the company with the biggest swings in total return. Another big fall like it saw in 2011 could be bad news for dividend investors.
Source: JWN Total Return Price data by YCharts.
The bottom line
Even with those variations, I still like Hasbro’s future chances. The company is widening its operating margin and making a strong push into international markets. I think the sheer volume of classic brands in its portfolio is more than enough to keep it safe in years to come. Having said that, my favorite of the three is definitely Nordstrom. The business is moving into omnichannel sales with a clear vision, and it’s earning the respect of customers and peers as it does so.

Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, a towering figure in postwar British and world politics and the only woman to become British prime minister, has died at the age of 87.
She suffered a stroke Monday, her spokeswoman said. A British government source said she died at the Ritz Hotel in London.
Thatcher’s funeral will be at St. Paul’s Cathedral, with full military honors, followed by a private cremation, the British prime minister’s office announced.
Thatcher served from 1975 to 1990 as leader of the Conservative Party. She was called the “Iron Lady” for her personal and political toughness….
