Notebook: Grizzlies 104, Clippers 83

THE FACTS: Four games into the series, it’s dead even between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Grizzlies’ big men dominated the Clippers inside for a second straight game Saturday as Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol scored 24 points apiece to lead Memphis to a 104-83 Game 4 victory that tied the series at 2-2. The Clippers got 19 apiece from Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, but were held to just 33 percent shooting in a second half that saw them outscored 58-36 before a sellout crowd of 18,119 at FedExForum. Memphis also got 15 apiece from starters Tayshaun Prince and Mike Conley in its highest-scoring offensive performance of the series.

Notebook: Grizzlies 99, Timberwolves 86

THE FACTS: It wasn’t easy at first, but the Memphis Grizzles (49-24) eventually continued their dominance over Minnesota (26-46), defeating the injury-riddled Timberwolves 99-86 on Saturday. Marc Gasol led the way with 21 points and eight rebounds, while Mike Conley added 19 to give the Grizzlies their 11th straight win against Minnesota, including two early blow outs in the last six weeks. THE FACTS: Despite playing without injured starting center Marc Gasol, the Memphis Grizzlies won their 10th straight home game, a 110-106 victory over the Boston Celtics Saturday night at FedExForum. Reserve guard Jerryd Bayless led the Grizzlies with 30 points, one shy of his career high, to offset a 26-point effort by Paul Pierce of the Celtics, who were playing without injured starters Kevin Garnett and Courtney Lee. The Grizzlies led by 21 with 7:16 to go, but had to withstand a Celtics’ rally that cut the margin to two points on three occasions in the game’s final 20 seconds, the last at 108-106 with 8.3 seconds left. …read more

THE FACTS: The Nets didn’t get the calls or make the right plays down the stretch, losing a defensive slugfest to the Memphis Grizzlies 76-72 at Barclays Center. The Grizzlies’ interior tandem of Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph combined for 30 points and 21 rebounds and all five starters finished in double figures, while Deron Williams (24 points, four assists) was electric at times in defeat. The Grizzlies have now won seven straight games and eight of ten since acquiring Ed Davis, Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye in a three-team trade that sent Rudy Gay to the Toronto Raptors. …read more

THE FACTS: The Memphis Grizzlies figured Brooklyn would be ready to defend the post-up moves of center Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. So instead, they turned to their pick-and-roll offense, something the Nets had a difficult time containing, particularly in the first half. Gasol had his way with 20 points, all coming in the first half, as the Grizzlies led by as many as 30 before cruising to a 101-77 win, their fourth in the last five games.

Notebook: Grizzlies 85, Bulls 82

THE FACTS: After giving up a 17-point lead in the second half, the visiting Memphis Grizzlies scored the first six points of overtime and held on for an 85-82 victory in a taffy pull of a basketball game. The Bulls scored just 25 points in the second and third quarters combined, but erased a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter to force their third consecutive overtime game. Marc Gasol had 19 points to lead the Grizzlies. They also got 13 points and 19 rebounds from Zach Randolph, who sat out Friday’s game against Sacramento because of a strained back.
