THE FACTS: Four games into the series, it’s dead even between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Grizzlies’ big men dominated the Clippers inside for a second straight game Saturday as Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol scored 24 points apiece to lead Memphis to a 104-83 Game 4 victory that tied the series at 2-2. The Clippers got 19 apiece from Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, but were held to just 33 percent shooting in a second half that saw them outscored 58-36 before a sellout crowd of 18,119 at FedExForum. Memphis also got 15 apiece from starters Tayshaun Prince and Mike Conley in its highest-scoring offensive performance of the series.

THE FACTS: The Los Angeles Clippers outlasted the New Orleans Hornets 105-91 Wednesday night, getting back on track a night after losing to Dallas. Chris Paul had 16 points, nine assists, six rebounds and four steals in his return to the city where he got his NBA start. Serge Ibaka Fine Shows NBA Punishment For ‘Groin Altercations’ Varies (VIDEOS)

Aside from inadvertently contributing to the genesis of the #GroinAltercation hashtag, the NBA‘s decision not to suspend Oklahoma City Thunder center Serge Ibaka for a low blow to Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin was notable because it appeared inconsistent with discipline doled out for similar transgressions.

In the fourth quarter of a nationally-televised Thunder-Clippers game on Sunday, Ibaka appeared to intentionally strike Griffin as they battled for position under the glass. Regardless of intent, Ibaka’s right hand hit Griffin in the groin, sending him tumbling to the floor. After an official review of the play, Ibaka was assessed a flagrant 1 for the foul. Even at the time, fans and media on Twitter wondered why it hadn’t been a flagrant 2, resulting in an ejection.

THE FACTS: The Clippers have been winning plenty of games this season, but they accomplished something Wednesday night they hadn’t done in two years. L.A. forward Blake Griffin recorded 23 points, a career-high 11 assists and 11 rebounds in a 117-101 victory against the Bucks at Staples Center, the third triple-double of his career and the first for the Clippers since Griffin recorded his second on the final day of the 2010-11 season. …read more

Serge Ibaka Cheap Shot: Blake Griffin Hit In Groin Triggering Clippers’ 7-Point Possession (VIDEO)

An apparent cheap shot by Serge Ibaka against Blake Griffin proved quite costly.

With the Clippers trailing the Thunder, 99-93 with less than two minutes remaining on Sunday, Matt Barnes cut the OKC lead to three with a 3-pointer from the corner. While Barnes’ shot was in the air, Ibaka dropped Griffin to the floor with a chop to the groin.

After reviewing the play, the officials declared the cheap shot a flagrant foul type 1, giving Griffin two foul shots and then possession to L.A. A flagrant foul type 2 would have resulted in an ejection.

THE FACTS: Shooting guard Jamal Crawford scored a game-high 24 points as the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 105-89. Power forward Blake Griffin collected 16 points and 11 rebounds for Los Angeles, while point guard Chris Paul added 11 points and a game-high 15 assists. Rookie shooting guard Dion Waiters scored 17 points for Cleveland, which played without All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving for the third straight game. Irving has a hyperextended right knee and is listed as day-to-day. The Clippers won at Quicken Loans Arena for the first time since March 10, 2002. …read more

THE FACTS: Chris Paul notched his 18th double-double of the season with 21 points and 11 assists, leading the Los Angeles Clippers to a resounding 107-90 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center. Blake Griffin and Jamal Crawford scored 20 points each, Matt Barnes had 11 and Eric Bledsoe 10 for the Clippers, who improved to 4-4 on their eight-game road trip and 37-17 overall.
