NSA leaker, Mr Snowden, appears to have taken data that suggests the Spy network NSA invaded the privacy of their own American citizens. NSA claims it is Snowden who is a thief and so gave away precious info that NSA held high value to. What I find unique is the dilemma that both parties claim that the other performed an immoral act. That said, I wanted to examine the moral obligations both parties hold and to which side Jesus teachings would weigh heavily on.
Any thoughts?

For centuries there has been much confusion when people try to reason the different accounts of Jesus’ resurrection as recorded by the apostles. The fact that they all seem to have a different story to tell does not help. Perhaps, a good way to consider their seemingly different reports is to view them like transparent overlays, similar to the one’s we have seen in books showing the skeleton, then the nerves and blood vessels, organs, muscular and finally the skin and hair.
The Gospels, similarly, are each reporting different events which had taken place around a major singular occurrence, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The fact is that these different events are recorded in God’s word and are therefore true. Perhaps the answer to the confusion is to consider that there were multiple trips made to the tomb.
The best way to determine the possible order of these trips to the tomb is to consider the different details that have been given about the time of day and light of the sun. Was the sun going down or coming up? These questions are actually quite easy to answer. However, we must remember that the Sabbath, like all the other biblical days, began and ended with sundown, see Gen. 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31 and Lev. 23:32.
Matthew clearly tells us that when the two Marys where first headed to the tomb it was “IN the end of the Sabbath.” Therefore, according to Matthew this trip took place Saturday evening prior to sunset, “IN the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week.”
The word translated “end” is the Greek word “opse,” # 3697 in Strongs Concordance. It means – late in the day; by extension, after the close of the day: –(at) even, in the end. The translated phrase “as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week” adds to the confusion of most people and caused them to think Matthew is talking about the sunrise, or “dawn” as we would refer to it. The Greek word here was translated “dawn,” while at times a correct translation, is not however of necessity the intent original. The implication of the word, since it follows “opse,” properly means to “draw on,” or, “as the first day approached,” without specifying a precise time. As a matter of fact, that is exactly how the same word here translated “dawn” is translated in Luke 23:54, “And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.”
In English the word “dawn” is frequently used to mean the beginning of something – like “the dawn of space travel” would be a reference to the first flight of man in space. This careful chronological statement, “IN the END of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of …read more

The conviction of Jesus by Pontius Pilate may be the most famous court verdict — and perhaps the most consequential, since it led to Christ’s crucifixion and the founding of a global religion.
Now a Kenyan lawyer wants to overturn Pilate’s decision, though he wants to keep the faith that flowed from it.
“The selective and malicious prosecution (of Jesus) violated his human rights,” said Dola Indidis, a Roman Catholic who is petitioning the International Court of Justice, based at The Hague, to nullify Jesus’ conviction and death sentence….

The Bible refers to the second coming of Christ many times, from Genesis to Revelation. It is mentioned 1,800 times in the Old Testament and another 300 times in the New Testament. Statistically, one in every 25 Bible verses refers to the Second Coming. For every prophecy in the Bible about the first coming of Jesus, there are eight prophecies about the second coming of Jesus. One message is clear in Scripture: Christ will come back again to this earth. …read more

In Matthew 06:05-08, Jesus makes a poem that uses four different wordplays that contrast the right way and the wrong way to pray. Jesus contrasts praying in the synagogue versus praying in secret. He contrasts the results for the way that hypocrites pray versus the result for praying correctly. He contrasts praying by multiplying words and not praying with a multitude of words. He contrasts what heretics think versus what the Father in Heaven knows.
In the wordplay concerning “Multiply Words,” the two words “Multiply” and “Words” form a pun. Given the similarity of the two words the sound produced is tantric in nature.
“Synagogues” (כנסיות)
“Secret” (בסתר)
“Already” (שכבר)
“Reward” (שכרם)
“Couch” (משכב)
“When” (כאשר)
“Multiply Words” (דברים תרבו)
“Multitude of Words” (דברים שברוב)
“Heretics who Think” (חושבים שהמינים)
“Father in Heaven” (שבשמים שאביכם)
Matthew 5:5 “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues {“Synagogues” (כנסיות)} and on the street corners, that they may be seen by men. Truly, I say to you, they have {“Already” (שכבר)} received their reward {“Reward” (שכרם)}. 6 But when you pray, go into your room {“Couch” (משכב)}, shut the door and pray to your Father, who is in secret {“Secret” (בסתר)}. And your Father, who sees in secret {“Secret” (בסתר)}, will reward you. 7 And when {“When” (כאשר)} you pray, do not use empty repetitions {“Multiply Words” (דברים תרבו)} as the Gentiles do. For they think {“Heretics who Think” (חושבים שהמינים)} that they will be heard for their many words {“Multitude of Words” (דברים שברוב)}. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father {“Father in Heaven” (שבשמים שאביכם)} knows what you need before you ask him.

Understanding the Gospel Gap
By Paul Tripp, CP Guest Columnist

I’m convinced that many Christians live with a big gap in their understanding of what God has done for them. Most people understand that Jesus died so their sins can be forgiven, and most people understand that He died so they can have a future with Him in eternity, but I’ve found that few understand what Jesus has provided for them today.
2 Peter 1:8-9 describes the Gospel Gap better than any other passage in Scripture:
“For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.”
In these verses we get the symptoms of the Gap. Peter points out that there are people who really do know the Lord, but whose lives fail to produce the expected fruit of faith. Their lives aren’t characterized by peaceful relationships, a natural day-by-day worship of the Lord, a wholesome relationship to material things, and ongoing spiritual growth.
You see, I’m persuaded that in the here and now, many of us experience a Gospel blindness. Our sight is dimmed by the tyranny of the urgent, by the siren call of success, by the seductive beauty of physical things, by our inability to admit our own problems, and by the casual relationships within the body of Christ that we mistakenly call “fellowship.”
Sadly, this blindness is often encouraged by preaching that fails to take the Gospel to the specific challenges people face. People need to see that the Gospel belongs in their workplace, their kitchen, their school, their bedroom, their backyard, and their van. They need to see the way the Gospel makes a connection between what they’re doing and what God is doing. They need to understand that their life stories are being lived out within God’s larger story so that they can learn to live each day with a Gospel mentality.

Sunday 7/28/13 Pastor Michael sermon Left Behind: What Happens to Non-Believers during the Tribulation Revelation 6:9-11
We are living in a time that there are things happening in our world that have never happened before. The killing of thousands and weather that causes mass destruction is happening all over the world. Jesus said these things would be happening in the end times. For believers we have no worry. We are protected from ALL of the destructions that happen in the end times. We, the believer, escape. The world wants us to be fearful but we will not fear. The Bible prophesized of the things that are happening. The love of many will wax cold. Today people kill each other with no problem and without a second thought. Men become lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God!
We must celebrate our Faith because our Faith is our ticket out of the terrible times to come. Our Faith will protect us from disaster! Christ died for us and snatched us back from near destruction. In the text, John sees the things that are to happen. He sees the seven seals opened by the Lamb, Jesus Christ, the Resurrected one. John sees the raptured, the believing ones that are caught up. The dead in Christ shall rise first and we who remain shall be caught up to meet Jesus in the sky. These are the born again believers that are taken up and don’t have to go thru the tribulation period.
Right now there are approx. 7 billion people living on earth today. Approximately 1.6 billion of them are saved. Almost 6 billion people will be left behind if the Rapture would happen today. Those people left behind fall into three categories:
1) The Person Who is Uncertain:
This is a non-believer that doesn’t want to make a commitment. He is seeking some religious experience but will stay neutral. He doesn’t commit to anything. An Agnostic=denying God’s personal existence. They don’t believe God is a personal God. Nicodemus was an agnostic. He came to see Jesus at night when no one would see him.
We know Jesus is Real, God is Real! And we know that He has picked us up, woke us up this morning and brought us to church today! We have a relationship with God and He comes and rescues us from our mess! We cannot see it but we know that it is real. We know it thru our heart and not our intellect. We are born again believers and we have FAITH!! We know it’s REAL!!
2) The Unwilling People:
They are skeptical to any beliefs concerning a God and don’t want to investigate anything. An Antagonist=they ask …read more

Sunday 7/21/13 Pastor Michael sermon Seeing Is Believing=A Preview of Coming Attractions! Revelations 5:1-5
Seeing is believing means some things are so impossible unless you can see them. This is the reason why we have pre-views of movies to come. They want to show us pre-views of coming attractions, of the movies thought to be impossible to capture on the screen.
This is the state of our text today. John is being given a pre-view of what the world will look like in the end times and how things will happen in Heaven and in earth. John is on the island and no one is there but him and God. God took him up in the spirit to show him reel by reel of what is to happen in the end time. John was shown things that he could not understand, but he believed. It is like our faith in God. We can’t see Him and sometimes we don’t understand things that happen but we know God is with us. He is lifting us up and we believe in God’s Power.
John was given a pre-view of what is going to happen so he can little by little believe it. He sees Christ exalted in Heaven. He sees the main character in Heaven, Christ, exalted in Heaven. This is before the seals on the Book are broken. God shows him Christ first because it was about to get really crazy and chaotic. But Christ is still on the throne. When things go crazy in our life, Jesus is still in control and He is still on the throne. Christ has Power! He will empower us to get over the crazy stuff because if it doesn’t kill us, it will empower us and make us stronger! I know that nothing touches us unless He allows it. So He knows I can handle it and can take it! We can have the victory over all things! Christ is on the throne! Praise the Lord!
Vs. 2 The Book is like a Will being opened to determine the fate of people, of mankind and the earth. It’s like at a Will reading. People are there to get a blessing. Jesus is at the Will reading, the Book opening. Christ is the executor of the Will, to unseal the Book. Vs.3 No one could open the Book. The strong angel asked who could open the Book. Angel Gabriel will proclaim that no one can open the Book, the Will. This Will, this Book says who will be getting into Heaven and who will not! Jesus Christ is the only one worthy to be the executor, the one to open up the Will, the Book! He is the only one worthy to break the seals on the Book that determine the will of God toward the fate of mankind, the earth.

Miz KJV Only in the house!
I just joined this website because I like to type up my church sermon notes each Sunday and email and post them on the internet. I do this on about 4 or 5 Christian sites and been doing it for six years.
I may comment on a question asked on a topic once in a while, but I don’t live on the internet. Sooo….once a week I post my pastor’s sermon on line, email it and mail it out to two elderly aunts. Some people are bed ridden, only see church on TV. I do believe we are in the end times, the last days that Jesus told us about. And…the last days that John told us in Revelation. A lot of people will miss the boat if we don’t keep talking about Jesus and the free ticket he gives us to Heaven. Amen…Hallelujah!! …. Thank You Jesus!

This is a post I had several years ago here on Worthy and I am just sharing it again (I know it’s long…) –
God has promised to reward us in Hebrews 11:6 with understanding if we would “diligently” seek Him. Answering His call to personal holiness, picking up our crosses and following Him is how we seek Him. To those who obey this mandate Jesus said He would give to them “to know the mystery of the kingdom of God” (Mark 4:11). “To know” we are required to “diligently seek” if we are to have any hope to find, just as we must actively knock if the door of understanding is to be opened unto us. We must humbly acknowledge our ignorance and ask for understanding if we are to be enlightened by God’s Holy Spirit. That is because nothing is more blinding or hindering to our receiving truth than the “light” one proudly thinks himself to have, as such light most often prove to be strongholds that cause men to bunker down in defense of their own historic position or greed. But even when such are willing to consider that the part they know may not be completely correct, they must remember that all our seeking, knocking, and asking must be with an intention of true faithfulness if we are to receive anything from God. Even then, it is still only when “our hearts condemn us not” of sin that we can have true “confidence” toward God. It is in that place and condition that “whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight” (I John 3:21, 22).
Justified in the Spirit
The revealing of God’s precious truths is often times progressive, as is witnessed to God’s names being revealed over time to humanity. Therefore we can see throughout history how so many others of God’s truths have been given one tidbit at a time is not rare. Holy men of old often prophesied of future events in fragments, “here a little” and then in another text, perhaps even another prophet, “there a little.” This method of enlightenment is in exact accordance with what the bible teaches us. I Corinthians 13:9 tells us straightforwardly that we all only “prophesy in part.” However, when we allow the Holy Spirit to help us properly assemble these parts by His illuminating touch, these fragments give valuable insight into otherwise veiled truths of scripture. Such is true for a verse which would otherwise be a puzzling piece of scripture –
“For without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, [God was] justified in the spirit, [God was] seen of angels, [God had] preached unto the Gentiles, [God was] believed on in the world, [God was] received up …read more

The kingdom of God is within our hearts (Luke 17:21). It is the spirit of Jesus which is unconditional, selfless, sacrificial, merciful, humble, ever-forgiving and faithful. This spirit is instilled in every human heart (Ezekiel 36:27) through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Those who make him the Lord of their life by accepting his spirit (Romans 10:9), are enabled by the spirit to love their enemies, do good to those who hurt and betray them, offer the other cheek if struck on one, give without expecting anything in return, bring healing to their offenders by their prayers and acts of sacrificial love (Matthew 5:43-48), consider others as superior to them, seek the interest of others over their own (Philippians 2:3-4) and stay faithful to their marriage vows even when there is hurt and unfaithfulness (Luke 6:18 & Hosea 3:1).

John 14:2-3 New King James version
In My Father’s house are many mansions;[a] if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.[b]3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
NIV version
My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
Their is a difference in mansions and rooms in the two different translations.Do you think we will each have huge mansions or just the Blessing of living with Jesus all together in rooms?

I am not getting younger as the years go by, but im beginning to realise that everywhere i go and with everyone i love, i need to constantly forgive and overlook….i suppose it is all about accepting others.
But i feel as though i am the only person forgiving others here….glad if i feel less lonely and be encouraged to continue to forgive…..love to hear you stories of how you forgive others everyday in your relationship even wihout them knowing you actually did it.
