College basketball fans knew not to change the channel after the buzzer sounded on Louisville’s 82-76 win over Michigan in the national championship game.

The NCAA Tournament isn’t really complete until CBS airs the annual “One Shining Moment” video, a montage of the best highlights and most memorable moments from the First Four through the title game.

Whether it was the euphoria of Florida Gulf Coast’s Cinderella run to the Sweet 16 to the emotional injury to Kevin Ware, the 2013 NCAA Tournament provided stirring moments of all kinds. As it usually does, the 2013 “One Shining Moment” video captured many of the best.

NCAA Tournament 2013: From A-10 To The Zags, Everything You Need To Know About The Round Of 64

Between the First Four and the two first full days of wall-to-wall NCAA Tournament action, 36 games have been played. Thirty-six teams have been sent home. Thirty-two teams have advanced. Although no game has been won on a buzzer beater (although Vander Blue came closest), several were won by teams that no one expected to succeed. From A-Z, here is a rundown of everything you need to know about the madness of March (so far):

Atlantic 10: President Obama believed that the Big Ten was the strongest conference during the year. The selection committee granted the most bids to the Big East. Once the ball was thrown up, however, it was the A-10 that stole the show. Highlighted by No. 13 La Salle‘s upset win over No. 4 Kansas State (coming after a First Four win), the Atlantic 10 has gone 6-0. VCU and Saint Louis dominated. Temple and Butler are moving on. As Mike Lopresti of USA Today Sports calculated, the round of 32 will be 15.6% A-10 teams.

Bracket: Through April 8th, everything will be a bracket. Food is a bracket. Curse words are a bracket. Hate is a bracket. Most importantly, the NCAA Tournament is a bracket. Did you fill yours out? La Salle Sets Date With Kansas State After Dispatching Boise State, 80-71

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Hitting shot after shot wasn’t enough to get Boise State its first NCAA tournament win.

Yes, La Salle was that good.

Tyrone Garland led La Salle‘s guard-driven offense with 22 points, and the Explorers wrapped up the NCAA tournament’s First Four by getting the better of an old-fashioned shootout, beating Boise State 80-71 on Wednesday night.

James Madison Earns Date With Indiana By Defeating LIU Brooklyn In First Four

DAYTON, Ohio — After winning the program’s first NCAA tournament game in 30 years, James Madison sounds as if it’s not done.

A.J. Davis, who stepped in as a starter because the leading scorer was suspended for a half, led the way with 20 points as the Dukes beat LIU Brooklyn 68-55 on Wednesday night in the First Four.

Saint Mary’s Beats Middle Tennessee 67-54 in First Four, Will Face Memphis

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — After Matthew Dellavedova’s second straight 3-point shot was right on target, Middle Tennessee coach Kermit Davis called a timeout to reset his defense.

Didn’t matter. Saint Mary‘s career scoring leader had regained his touch, and nothing was going to stop him.

Dellavedova emerged from a deep shooting slump by scoring 22 points on Tuesday night, and the Gaels raced to a fast start in their second straight NCAA tournament appearance, beating Middle Tennessee 67-54 in the First Four.

North Carolina A&T Defeats Liberty, 73-72: Louisville Awaits After Aggies’ First NCAA Tournament Win

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Jeremy Underwood came off the bench to score 19 points, leading North Carolina A&T past 21-loss Liberty 73-72 on Tuesday at the First Four, ending an NCAA winless streak at nine games.

The Flames — only the second team ever to make the NCAA tournament with 20 losses — had a chance to win it. John Caleb Sanders drove coast to coast and flipped up a left-handed layup in heavy congestion that just missed. A&T (20-16) rebounded and, while Sanders rolled in pain on the baseline, began to celebrate an end to more than 30 years of disappointment.

Underwood came in averaging just over 6 points, but was perfect from the field, hitting six field goals in as many attempts. Bruce Beckford added 16 points and Lamont Middleton 14.

First Four 2013: NCAA Tournament Starts In Dayton With ‘Play-In Games’

For the eight teams competing in Dayton, Ohio on Tuesday and Wednesday, the “First Four” is every bit as compelling as the Final Four that will take place in Atlanta a few weeks later.

Even if your office pool doesn’t notice, the 2013 NCAA Tournament schedule kicks off on Tuesday night rather than Thursday afternoon. Ever since the NCAA expanded the field to 68 teams for the 2011 tournament, the true first round has consisted of the so-called “play-in games.” A run by VCU from the First Four to the Final Four in 2011 made it clear that Dayton can be the launching pad for March success.
