Wear White Immediately — We’ll Show You How (PHOTOS)

By The Huffington Post News Editors

The old adage that wearing white before Memorial Day is declassé has gone the way of the dinosaur. There’s no reason that you can’t take a page from celebrities like Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried and Jennifer Lawrence, who all just donned white at the Oscars. All it takes is a few pieces to winterize your look.

It’s important to remember that white comes in different shades: you could try a cream-colored coat, an off-white cableknit sweater and eggshell leather pants. Our only tip? Carry that Tide pen for when your lunch misses your mouth. And these pieces are easy to transition to spring: Just lose the tights and the heavy shoes in exchange for sandals or ballet flats. The best part about wearing white after Labor Day is that it’s a nice surprise when everyone else is wearing black. What’s not to love?

Check out our take on wearing white in winter, as well as some tips on how to transition these outfits to spring:

By Christina Perez

With a front row that included Jessica Chastain, Frank Ocean, Amanda Seyfried, Kanye West, and Kim Kardashian, Riccardo Tischi’s Fall 2013 show for Givenchy was among the buzziest of Paris Fashion Week outings yet. Thanks to a live performance by Antony Hergarty of Antony and the Johnsons and the imposing circular runway at Halle Freyssinet, it was also one of the more theatrical.

“The strength of gypsies meets the romanticism of a Victorian feeling,” the notes explained of the floral prints, tiers of lace, and layers of velvet that made their way down the runway. …read more

The Chicest Looks From Sunday's SAG Awards

By Christina Perez

At Sunday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, Jennifer Lawrence and Marion Cotillard continued their recent streak of wearing Spring 2013 Couture collection, while Cotillard looked utterly chic in a custom blue-and-white bi-level gown and an asymmetrical coif to match.

Of course, there were plenty of other gorgeous looks. The ladies of Mad Men made an impact in a range of styles, and each seemed to match their respective personas perfectly; Kiernan Shipka was charming in in a blush-colored Chado Ralph Rucci gown.

But perhaps the most enchanting look of the evening was Amanda Seyfried‘s: In a body-hugging cobalt mermaid gown from Zac Posen’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection, the actress nearly stole the show.
