Hunt the Beast with These Transformers

As yet another Toy Fair comes to an end, we close out our coverage of the annual trade show featuring all things collectible with a look at Hasbro’s Transformers line. This year, the toymaker is focusing on its introduction of Beast Hunters — its “expansive multi-platform brand experience” that will include a presence on the animated Transformers: Prime — as well as Construct-Bots, more KRE-O building block sets, and lots and lots of action figures, including the huge Metroplex which will run you $125. A Closer Look at Man of Steel's Zod and Jor-El

Shut up and take my money, DC Collectibles! The company’s Toy Fair 2013 showroom this week was so full of win and made me particularly excited for Injustice: Gods Among Us. Filled to the brim with amazingly detailed action figures and statues based on everything from Man of Steel’s Superman, Jor-El and Zod to Death of the Family’s Joker (love the haunting detail on his “face”) to Jim Lee’s Superman/Wonder Woman kiss, DC’s upcoming slate of collectibles is looking awesome. Fans should be drooling over the thought of adding these items to their collection — especially that ginormous Solomon Grundy.

Seriously, just check out that badass Nightwing statue!

Kick-Ass 2's Bad Guy Revealed

Yikes, NECA has overloaded my senses with a solid amount of neat collectibles from a number of great franchises. Within the walls of its Toy Fair 2013 showroom, there was a fantastic, highly-detailed Adam West Batman (complete with eyes that’ll pierce your soul), plenty of lovable items from top-notch games (Portal 2, Team Fortress 2, BioShock), and cool statues for Kick-Ass 2, including a first look at the bad guy The Mother F#@%&r.

Also, both the Alien and Predator franchises are getting new lines featuring Fox’s legendary E.T.s. You can now have Dutch take on Aliens — just make sure Dave Lizewski isn’t near the chaos… poor kid will be ripped to shreds in no time. Check out the images below…

Square Enix Does DC Comics

Square Enix Products’ statues look indomitable. Dubbed “The Japanese Spirit,” the company has molded absurdly badass versions of various DC characters including the likes of Green Lantern, Poison Ivy, Bane and, yes, Batman.

As expected, there was also a fair share of stellar video game statues on display at the company’s Toy Fair display this week, ranging from Halo 4’s Spartans to Metal Gear Solid‘s super badass, Raiden. Have a look…

Jabba's Sail Barge Goes LEGO!

LEGO is well known for their work with the Star Wars franchise, and if the items on display at their Toy Fair 2013 showroom are any indication, they’re continuing full steam ahead in the galaxy far, far away. A massive vehicle or two is always good fun, but the real highlight for me was the Max Rebo minifigure! That’s right, the musician and brave hero of the Star Wars universe has finally gone LEGO! I can’t wait to see people use the blue alien to take down the Rancor.

The company also showed off more Lord of the Rings items (from the original trilogy of films, that is) and displayed a huge set for Nick’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which is a really, really, reaaaally good show, by the way). And sets for Man of Steel and Iron Man 3 were also on display, but photos were not permitted. (Still, you can sneak a peek here of the former…) Check out some images below from the showroom.

Are you ready for Transformers Prime Beast Hunters? Transformers Prime is returning this spring with a big new storyline, as Season 3 introduces a new take on a classic Transformers faction – the Predacons.

In this incarnation, the Predacons, led by Predaking, are dragon-like Transformers and a fearsome new enemy that could turn the tide of the war in Megatron’s favor.

Hasbro revealed new details on Beast Hunters at Toy Fair in New York this past weekend, including the upcoming toy line to accompany the animated series. While a lucky few were able to see footage from the new season at Hasbro’s Collector’s Event, IGN has the online debut of the first trailer for Transformers Prime Beast Hunters.

Iron Man 3 Toys Might Spoil You on Iron Man 3

Toy Fair is coming in a couple of weeks. That’s the big industry event that happens every year in New York City that’s also become a great place for geek movie news spoilers, if that’s your thing.

That said, read no further if you don’t want to have a (possibly) major plot point from Iron Man 3 revealed.

Of course, now that the spoiler warning is out of the way, this could also be non-news. Remember the Avengers/Skrulls thing from Toy Fair last year? Still, there is no denying that these new images for Funko’s Pop! Iron Man 3 toys are revealing… something.
