Madden 25 Data Will Transfer to Next-Gen

EA has announced that players will be able to transfer data from the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Madden NFL 25 to their Xbox One and PlayStation 4 counterparts. According to EA, players will be able to “transfer up to 1,100 Madden Ultimate Team items onto next-gen consoles, giving you a head-start in building your squad.”

Specifically, “players who log into Madden NFL 25 on next-gen consoles with their Origin Account and respective Xbox Live or Sony Entertainment Network accounts will be able to bring over 100 active items (55 players, 45 additional items) as well as up to 1000 reserve items from their games on current generation systems. These players and items can still be used in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game as well, but cannot be auctioned or traded.”

Canadian PlayStation Gamers Get Settlement

Multiple sources have provided IGN with e-mails they received today from Sony Entertainment Network entitled “PSN-SOE-Canada Settlement.” In short, it appears that any PlayStation gamer directly affected by the prolonged PSN outage in 2011 will be eligible for some (minor) compensation.

Any resident of Canada who had an account on PlayStation Network before May 15, 2011 is eligible. Anyone who created an account thereafter is not eligible. This class action settlement, according to the e-mail, is the result of a settlement that still needs to receive “final approval” from The Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

PSN Maintenance Monday

If you’re having trouble connecting to the PlayStation Network today, you’re not alone. Sony will be working on the PSN from 5 a.m. Pacific (8 a.m. Eastern) until about 9 p.m. Pacific (Midnight Eastern).

What can you expect? PlayStation says…

During this maintenance period, you may receive a message that states “Sony Entertainment Network is undergoing maintenance” when attempting to access the PlayStation Store or PlayStation Home. If you have signed in to PSN within 5 days prior to the start of maintenance (meaning: any time since February 27th), you may be able to play games online and enjoy apps such as Netflix, HULU Plus and Music Unlimited during this maintenance period.
