Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Sally Field Oscars 2013: A ‘Mom’s’ Quick Fix For The Show’s First Timer (PHOTO)

What goes around comes around: A month and a half after Joseph Gordon-Levitt resourcefully fixed Anne Hathaway’s dress, Sally Field came to his rescue tonight (Feb. 24) and helped him with his bow tie.
JGL uploaded this adorable photo of himself with Best Supporting Actress nominee Field (“Lincoln”) to his Tumblr blog and wrote “Sally did indeed know how to tie a bow tie! I thought she would. #Oscars.” In “Lincoln,” JGL plays Field’s son, so all of this makes perfect sense.
Levitt is a special guest in tonight’s Oscar ceremony, his first time appearing on the show. He’ll be joined by fellow first-timers Channing Tatum and Daniel Radcliffe.

The Academy Awards are right around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited about the prospect of prior Oscar winners like Denzel Washington, Robert De Niro and Sally Field adding another golden statue to their collection.
That being said, there is a surprisingly extensive list of acclaimed post 50 actors who have never received Hollywood’s most coveted award, despite having been in the field for quite some time. For example, did you know that 65-year-old Glenn Close has never won an Oscar, even after being nominated six times?

3 new Lincoln movies

Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg’s frequent collaborator, snags himself a seat on Mr. Spielberg’s bandwagon on Sunday when he turns up as the narrator of “Killing Lincoln,” a docudrama on the National Geographic Channel.
If Mr. Spielberg’s “Lincoln” achieves greatness largely through the detailed performances of Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and others, “Killing Lincoln” also has details to recommend it — historical details, the kind of tidbits that (along with Mr. Hanks’s assured narration) can hold your attention, even though the tale is familiar.
“Killing Lincoln,” based on the book by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard, puts its focus just where the title suggests: on the final days of Lincoln’s life and the pursuit of those behind the assassination. And yes, for anyone who can’t get enough of the 16th president, on Sunday it will be possible to arrange a Lincoln trifecta, seeing “Lincoln,” Salvador Litvak’s new film; “Saving Lincoln” (about the president’s bodyguard); and “Killing Lincoln” in a single day. Happy belated birthday, Abe.

Day-Lewis, Chastain, Arkin, Field to present SAG Awards
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 23 (UPI) — Nominees Alan Arkin, Jessica Chastain, Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and John Goodman will be presenters at Sunday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles.

Skyfall Receives 8 BAFTA Nominations
The BAFTA nominations are out, and Skyfall has received 8 nominations, including Best British film and individual nods for Javier Bardem and Dame Judi Dench.
But leading the list of nominations is historical epic Lincoln, with ten nominations. The cast has been heavily recognised, with nominations for Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones, but director Steven Spielberg has been overlooked by the judges.
Musical Les Miserables and Ang Lee’s Life of Pi have both received 9 nominations, including nods in the coveted best film category.
Other films to receive a significant number of nominations include Argo, which got 7, with Ben Affleck in the running for best director and best actor, and Anna Karenina which received 6.
