Dead Space 3 Awakened Review

This review contains Dead Space 3 story spoilers. Consider yourself warned: MEGA SPOILERS AHEAD.

Dead Space 3 Awakened grafts a grisly tale of Marker-induced dementia onto the end of the original Dead Space 3 experience, and in three brief chapters did more to unsettle me than the entire game managed. Disturbing, creepy, and entertaining, it’s great fun – though Awakened’s satisfying but brief story gets a bit silly and serves as a vivid reminder of the ho-humness that preceded it.

If you finished the main game and watched the credits roll to the end, you know that Isaac Clarke is alive. Awakened picks up the story as Isaac and co-op sidekick John Carver attempt to figure out how they actually survived. That’s appropriate, because I seriously wanted to know the same thing. After all, in the finale, they were caught in a free-fall through the heart of a cataclysmic atmospheric storm kickstarted by a moon-sized Necromorph collapsing into the planet. The survival rate for that is estimated at around zero.

‘Significant’ Patch Coming to PlayStation All-Stars

Big changes are coming to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale on both PS3 and Vita. In a blog post from Sony’s resident fighting game expert Seth Killian, all of these changes are outlined, and are set to go live on Tuesday, March 19th alongside the two newest characters on the roster: Isaac Clarke and Zeus.

The notes are far too extensive to post here, but you should read all about them on the official PlayStation Forums. Look: The Killing Joke's Joker Statue

My eyes were unable to properly handle the overflowing amount of epicness at Kotobukiya’s Toy Fair 2013 showroom. DC fans are sure to be pleased with the variety of pricey collectibles they’ve got in the pipeline — including the stunning ARTFX+ statues for the New 52 Justice League and a fantastic Joker statue inspired by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s Batman: The Killing Joke. They also have plans for a Superman statue inspired by Superman: For Tomorrow, a Black Canary piece and even one for the best mercenary ever, Deathstroke.

Kotobukiya’s certainly not leaving Marvel fans in the dust, though. They’re working on a set of ARTFX+ statues based on Marvel NOW!’s The Avengers. And to top it off, they’re being crafted under the art direction of amazingly talented illustrator Adi Granov (best Iron Man artist ever?). Additionally, there was a superb Venom and Spider-Man statue on display, a Jim Lee inspired Cyclops (oh, how I miss the ’90s) and a highly detailed Daredevil. As if that wasn’t enough, there’re more sweet collectibles of Star Wars characters, Isaac Clarke from Dead Space 3 (where he’s of course stomping like a boss) and a few from Mass Effect 3. Check out the images from the showroom below…

Counting Down to Dead Space 3

We’re less than a month away from the release of Dead Space 3, and as Isaac Clarke prepares to eliminate the necromorph threat once and for all, you may have lingering questions about where he left off and what this survival-horror game is all about.

Whether you’ve slept on everything about Dead Space 3 or just want a quick refresher, IGN has answers to your questions.

After destroying a Marker and stopping a convergence event in Dead Space 2, Isaac Clarke escaped an exploding Titan Station with Ellie Langford, conquered his inner-demons, and got over his ex-girlfriend in one fell swoop. Despite trying to lead a relatively normal life, Clarke can’t quite escape the psychotic monsters known as necromorphs, nor the Unitologist nuts that revere them.
