ESRB Rates The Sly Collection for PlayStation Vita

An ESRB rating dug up by CVG indicates that The Sly Collection — the 2010 HD re-release of PlayStation 2’s Sly Cooper trilogy — will be coming to PlayStation Vita. (We loved the PS3 version.)

If true (and it almost certainly is, as the ESRB doesn’t rate games out of thin air), this will mark the second Sony-owned HD collection to make its way from PS3 to Vita; the Jak & Daxter Collection was recently confirmed to be coming to Vita after a rumor surfaced last month indicating that it was a possibility. However, to verify, we’ve reached out to Sony for comment and are waiting to hear back.

The Joker is in Batman: Arkham Origins

A Batman: Arkham Origins promotional standee has revealed new villains expected to appear in the game. A photo provided to CVG shows off The Joker, Scarecrow, Bane and Killer Croc in addition to the previously confirmed Deathstroke (CVG also claims to see Deadshot on the poster, though we haven’t spotted him ourselves).

Injustice: Gods Among Us Delayed on Wii U in UK

Warner Bros. has announced that upcoming superhero brawler Injustice: Gods Among Us has been delayed by a week in the UK.

CVG reports that the game will now be available on April 26, rather than on April 19 as was originally planned.

The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game will still be released on the original date. No reason for the delay has been announced, though the Wii U version of the title also won’t be receiving the DLC season pass that has been announced for other platforms.

While it’s not ideal, on the plus side the delay is only for a week and it’ll give you more time to get up to speed on the story leading up to the events of the game.

Rocksteady Endorses Batman: Arkham Origins Team

Rocksteady Studios has voiced its support for Warner Bros. Games Montreal, the studio tasked with creating the next game in the Arkham franchise.

When Batman: Arkham Origins was announced yesterday, one of the things that perturbed many gamers was the fact that Rocksteady Studios, the team responsible for previous games Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, wouldn’t be returning to the project.

Sefton Hill, director of the first two games, has told Game Informer (via CVG) that he’s confident passing the torch was the right move, and fans won’t be disappointed.

Pro Evolution Soccer Series Switching to Fox Engine

Creative Producer Kei Masuda has confirmed that the Pro Evolution Soccer series will use an adapted version of Kojima Productions’ Fox Engine.

As reported by CVG, Masuda revealed the decision in an interview with Edge magazine. This will reportedly improve graphical fidelity as well as flexibility across platforms, including tablet and mobile.

The lack of an incentive to adapt the previous engine was also cited as a reason for the change.

Commercial Vehicle Group CEO Retiring

By Rich Smith, The Motley Fool

Filed under:

On Friday, commercial truck parts supplier Commercial Vehicle Group announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Mervin Dunn intends to retire later this year. He will stay on at the company until a successor has been found.

Dunn, who helped bring CVG public in 2004, has served as president and CEO of the company since June 2002 — and before that, he served as president of the preceding company, Trim Systems.

CVG shares sat out Friday’s stock market rally, instead declining 0.9% to close the day at $7.83.

Report: Sony Retiring DualShock With PS4

A new report is suggesting that Sony will ditch the DualShock controller for the PS4 and instead create a new one possibly containing a LCD touch screen or even biometrics.

An unnamed source spoke to CVG and claimed that many of the controllers currently being tested by Sony’s R&D department mark a rapid departure from the loyal DualShock, which has served PlayStation consoles for 16 years.

These versions apparently include new additions ranging from an integrated LCD touch screen to biometric sensors on the grips. A second source explained that Sony was supposedly trying to emulate the UI philosophies behind the Vita, and this is what inspired the whole touch screen thing.
