Thunder Rout Rockets 120-91 In Game 1 Of Playoff Series

OKLAHOMA CITY — As awkward as he felt going up against his former teammate, Kevin Durant didn’t have a problem quite literally standing in James Harden‘s way in the NBA playoffs.

Durant scored 24 points and drew a rare offensive charging foul, and the Oklahoma City Thunder routed Harden and the Houston Rockets 120-91 on Sunday night in Game 1 of their playoff series.

Notebook: Bucks 95, Thunder 89

THE FACTS: With both teams having secured their playoff positions neither team’s starters played very many minutes but the Milwaukee Bucks certainly won’t apologize for grabbing a much needed 95-89 win on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Bucks had lost five straight coming into the game and wanted to get back on track before the playoffs. The Thunder just wanted to rest their core group of players.

THE FACTS: It wasn’t pretty, in fact there were times when it was downright ugly but the Oklahoma City Thunder held off a stubborn Sacramento Kings squad 104-95 to win their 60th game of the season and clinch the top seed in the upcoming Western Conference playoffs.

Knicks Beat Thunder 125-120: Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith Lead New York To 12th Straight Win (VIDEO)

OKLAHOMA CITY — Carmelo Anthony had 36 points and 12 rebounds, J.R. Smith hit a pair of shot-clock beaters in the final 2 minutes and the New York Knicks beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 125-120 on Sunday for their 12th straight win.

Smith connected on a 23-foot jumper from the right wing as the 24-second clock expired to put New York up 117-113 with 1:30 to play, then swished a 3-pointer with 56.8 seconds left that all but sealed New York‘s 50th win of the season.

Notebook: Knicks 125, Thunder 120

THE FACTS: New York‘s J.R. Smith drained two shots including a 3-pointer in the closing moments and the Knicks extended their winning streak to 12 games with a thrilling 125-120 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Smith finished with 22 points but it was the play of Carmelo Anthony that sealed things for New York. Anthony scored 36 points but it was the 12 rebounds he pulled down, nine of them off the offensive glass that put his team in position to win. …read more
