New Online Scheduling System Expected to Improve Wait Time

OKLAHOMA CITY–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Thanks to the new online scheduling system, Inline/Online, visiting one of Oklahoma’s Driver License (DL) offices is about to get easier. Beginning March 26 with the SWOKC Driver License office, the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety (DPS) is piloting this new service along with six additional Oklahoma City and Tulsa Metro locations.

“We realize there is a problem. We were hearing reports of people arriving at our Driver License offices at four in the morning, only to have a long line and a long day, waiting for them.” said DPS Commissioner, Michael C. Thompson. “Inline/Online is the solution.”

Inline/Online is an online scheduling system that gives patrons the opportunity to reserve appointments online and avoid the inconvenience of waiting in line on a first-come-first-serve basis. Drivers choose an appointment type and time based on availability at their desired location, and can anticipate being in-and-out of the Driver License office within an hour of arrival.

The pilot consists of a systematic rollout of seven locations in an attempt for DPS to appropriately assess the needs of each facility. The launch dates and for each location pilot are:

SWOKC – March 26
Edmond – March 26
Yukon – March 28
Norman – March 28
Tulsa Eastgate – April 4
West Tulsa – April 11

Today, IGN can confirm that Persona 4 Golden – the critical hit Vita JRPG – will be given a price cut for a two week period, both at retail stores and on the PlayStation Network. Atlus provided us with the following comment:

Beginning March 19 for two weeks, the critically acclaimed RPG Persona 4 Golden (PlayStation Vita) is on sale for $10 off the retail price online and in stores, including Amazon, EB Games, GameStop, PlayStation Network and other participating retailers. The sale price applies only to new copies of the game. This is the first time new copies of the game are being offered below its initial retail price of $39.99.

In other words, the game will cost $30 instead of $40.

Rovio Execs Explain What Angry Birds Toons Channel Opens Up To Its 1.7 Billion Gamers

Rovio Entertainment used SXSW 2013 to announce its latest expansion into traditional entertainment. Beginning March 16, a new episode of Angry Birds Toons will be released each week on broadcast platforms around the world, including Comcast in the US and Samsung Smart TVs. Beginning March 17, Rovio will add a “Toons” button to all of its Angry Birds apps, which will be right next to “Play.” This will open up a direct video line to the 1.7 billion gamers who have downloaded on off the Angry Birds games. And for Comcast, it gives its Xfinity service (Xfinity on Demand, Xfinity.com/tv and the Xfinity TV Player app) and exclusive mass market entertainment brand. …read more

WASHINGTON — D.C. is about to look very pink. Beginning March 20 and running through April 14, the National Cherry Blossom Festival will celebrate the friendship between America and Japan with the blooming of approximately 3,750 trees.

Beginning March 20 with the Pink Tie Party and culminating in the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on April 13, the 101st annual celebration will also feature over 150 daily cultural performances by local, national and international entertainers, sports competitions and more. A full list of events can be found on the National Cherry Blossom site.

This morning the National Park Service announced this years “peak blossom” prediction via Twitter — and, great news, the dates coincide with this year’s festival.
