Fit For a Princess: The Late Diana's Dress Auction Estimated to Raise Over $900,000

By Justin Fenner

Ten iconic dresses that once belonged to the late Princess Diana will hit the auction block in London today, and altogether they’re expected to fetch close to a million dollars.

“Diana was photographed wearing them not only by the paparazzi, but by some of the leading photographers of the day – including Mario Testino and Lord Snowdon,” according to Kerry Taylor Auctions, which is hosting the sale.

The auction includes a black velvet dress by Victor Edelstein that the princess wore when she danced with John Travolta at a White House state dinner in 1985, and a blue sequined Catherine Walker gown she wore on a visit to Austria in 1989.

A look at all the dresses – and how much they’re expected to get at auction – here in the gallery.
