AdvantEdge Healthcare Solutions to Exhibit Deep Business Intelligence Capabilities at RBMA 2013

AdvantEdge to demonstrate InfoEdgeBI at RBMA 2013 Radiology Summit, building on interest generated at MGMA 2013 Anesthesia Administration Assembly Conference

WARREN, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– AdvantEdge Healthcare Solutions, one of the nation’s leading providers of medical billing, practice management, and coding services for specialty physicians, hospitals, and surgery centers, is demonstrating InfoEdgeBI, a business intelligence platform for medical practices, at the RBMA 2013 Radiology Summit next month. RBMA 2013 offers an opportunity to further expand awareness of InfoEdgeBI’s capabilities, building on attention garnered at the recent MGMA 2013 Anesthesia Administration Assembly (AAA) Conference.

HIPAA-secure InfoEdgeBI gives medical practices and hospitals more in-depth insight into their medical billing and coding information by providing online access to all regular and ad-hoc reports, and a dashboard with charges, cash payments, adjustments, and A/R information. In addition, users have the ability to create custom reports with deep drill-down capabilities to view specific areas of interest at the procedural or payor level with simple point-and-click navigation.

“As the industry faces continued competitive and regulatory pressure, healthcare practices and institutions need actionable data to make effective business decisions,” said David Langsam, President and CEO of AdvantEdge. “Working with our client physicians in anesthesia and radiology practices, we can now identify reimbursement bottlenecks before they become serious. For example, if a site’s volume is off trend, we can instantly drill down to discover the cause—perhaps work from certain physicians is missing. By showcasing InfoEdgeBI at the AAA conference and the Radiology Summit, we’re offering anesthesiologists and radiologists hands-on experience with the efficiencies, clarity, and insight they can gain by using these powerful business intelligence tools.”

AdvantEdge will be exhibiting at the RBMA 2013 Radiology Summit from May 19 to May 22 in Colorado Springs, Colo. at booth #218. It recently exhibited at the MGMA AAA conference from April 14 to April 16 in Miami.

Humana Achieves CAQH CORE Phase II Certification

Certification Reflective of Company’s Effort to Enhance Healthcare Administrative Data Exchange and Interoperability

LOUISVILLE, Ky.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Humana Inc. (NYS: HUM) , one of the nation’s leading health and well-being companies, announced today that it has achieved The Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH®) Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange (CORE®) Phase II Certification.

CAQH, a nonprofit alliance of health plans and trade associations, launched CORE to give providers consistent access to patient coverage information before or at the time of service using the electronic system of their choice for any patient or health plan, effectively reducing administrative burdens and costs.

Humana was awarded the CORE Seal after successfully completing CORE certification testing, a process that ensures that health care organizations can electronically exchange or access patient insurance information according to the CORE rules.

“The seamless sharing of data at the point of care is one way primary care providers can deliver a better health care experience to their patients,” said Brian LeClaire, Senior Vice President and Chief Service & Information Officer, Humana. “Humana’s CORE Phase II Certification reflects our commitment to enable providers, who are electronically connected to us, to provide that better experience to their patients.”

SecureCare Reinvents Faxing with Sfax v3

Updated cloud faxing product provides HIPAA-compliance, increased control and functionality for healthcare organizations

AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)– SecureCare, an Austin-based company that makes documents work through digital access, process and storage management, released a new version of Sfax – its secure, cloud-based faxing solution. Sfax v3 maintains the essential benefits that keep faxing relevant but removes the pain associated with manual faxing by bringing it to the cloud. Healthcare organizations rely on fax for business-critical documents – Sfax v3 is faster, more efficient and offers easier workflow management for groups.

“People say ‘fax’ like it’s a dirty word, but really, faxing is just misunderstood. Faxing is universal and ubiquitous with inherent security and an audit trail. It unites companies large and small – from sophisticated cities to remote areas. Unquestionably, the manual aspect, though, sucks. Our top priority in developing the latest version of Sfax was to change the way people think about faxing,” said Aleks Szymanski, CEO, SecureCare. “We have spent two years listening to our customers, understanding their pain points and challenges in meeting compliance requirements and have developed a product that helps get their job done.”

Sfax v3 brings new tools to make working within faxes easier and faster, allowing users to split faxes, rotate pages, annotate and quickly sign documents digitally. Added Szymanski, “Sfax is faxing reinvented.”

SecureCare’s customer-based research led to new features, including:

  • Administrators have increased control to manage users, set their access and permissions, adjust security settings and generate reports for maximum efficiency.
  • Annotations (text, rectangles, circles, check marks, crosses) and legal digital signatures that meet government requirements – just drag on the page and edit.
  • Unlike manual faxing or fax servers, Sfax enables users to send and receive unlimited faxes at the same time.
  • Manage your contacts into groups and share them across your organization or keep to yourself. Find contacts with a powerful search, plus easily import and export to synch data.
  • Enable groups to work together, collaborate, view, file, send or export documents from any location. Changes made to documents are reflected for the entire group.
  • Enhanced search and filtering with custom folders make organizing, finding and filing documents easier than ever.

Amcom Software Links Updated Solutions for Improved Physician and Nurse Communications

  • New, tighter integration features strong escalation capabilities—a key request from hospital customers
  • Combined solution lets hospitals better manage mobile workflows and set provider communication preferences

MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Amcom Software, Inc. today announced exciting enhancements to the integration between its secure texting and preference-based routing solutions. Amcom Mobile Connect® supports easy, secure, HIPAA-compliant text messaging, while Amcom Care Connect helps caregivers connect quickly based on their own schedules and preferences on how to be reached. Together, these solutions give physicians and nurses the flexibility to talk or text, incorporating critical escalation features if a caregiver is unavailable.

The Amcom Mobile Connect 3.3 release boasts a new chat view screen and updates that make it easier for caregivers to locate and connect with one another. This release also meets requests from hospital customers to strengthen the link between these products. Sometimes hospitals coordinate care best with secure texting. Other times physicians need to speak directly. This solution combination enables both.

The following example illustrates the integration:

Doctor One calls Amcom Care Connect to request a consult with Doctor Two. The call goes to Doctor Two’s smartphone via Amcom Mobile Connect as a secure text message, per her established preferences. Doctor Two cannot take the call, so the system escalates the message to the next-available doctor. He immediately speaks with Doctor One to discuss the patient’s situation.

“Healthcare continues to focus on improving patient care while keeping an eye on caregiver efficiency,” said Colin Balmforth, President, Amcom Software. “We are proud to further our development of Amcom Care Connect and Amcom Mobile Connect to meet these healthcare goals.”
