Leading Democrat: Gun Control Faces Uphill Climb
WASHINGTON (OfficialWire) — Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who’s leading the push to restore an assault weapon ban, acknowledged on Sunday that the effort faces tough odds to pass Congress and she blamed the nation’s largest gun-rights group.
Feinstein, D-Calif., on Thursday introduced a bill that would prohibit 157 specific weapons and ammunition magazines that have more than 10 rounds. The White House and fellow Democrats are skeptical the measure is going anywhere, given lawmakers who are looking toward re-election might fear pro-gun voters and the National Rifle Association.
“This has always been an uphill fight. This has never been easy. This is the hardest of the hard,” Feinstein said.
“I think I can get it passed because the American people are very much for it,” Feinstein said of the measure that follows a similar measure she championed into law 1994 but expired a decade later.
She acknowledged, however, the NRA’s political clout.
“They come after you. They put together large amounts of money to defeat you,” Feinstein said.
She also said the group was a pawn of those who make weapons.

It always happens the same way.
There is some horrific massacre.
There is a supposed “public outcry” to ban whatever weapons were used.
The weapons are banned.
Then comes the national gun registry.
Then all guns are banned.
This is what happened in England and Australia, and now it is happening in the United States.
Except Obama (through his gun-grabbing surrogate Dianne Feinstein) is saving time by banning all “assault” weapons and instituting a national gun registry all in one swoop.
If you think Obama doesn’t want to ban all guns, I’ve got some swampland in Florida you might be interested in.
Look way back in 1999, and you will find that Obama “proposed sweeping federal gun control legislation that would increase the penalties for the interstate transportation of firearms, restrict gun purchases to one weapon a month, increase the licensing fee, and ban the sale of firearms at gun shows.”
Or go back a few more years, in 1996, and you will find Obama called for an all-out ban on handguns.
Who were the “right-wing wackos” that dug up this hand gun ban info?
This was on April 17, 2008.
After Obama claimed that the Independent Voters of Illinois questionnaire that this information came from didn’t reflect his views—despite the fact that it had his handwriting all over it—and after his democratic opponent at the time, Hillary Clinton, called Obama a liar, two months later, the powers that be (the Bilderbergs or globalists or banksters, or whatever conspiracy theory suits your taste) decided that Hillary Clinton was out and Barack Obama was in.
The mainstream media then buried this information along with all the other damaging information about one Barack Hussein Obama.
Such things that he was a Marxist.
That his mentor, Frank Marshall Davis was a Marxist.
That all his buddies were Marxists (and domestic terrorists if you include Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn).
And guess what?
Marxists are totalitarians.
And totalitarians always seek to disarm the rabble.
That’s us. The rabble, that is.
Wake up, America.
We have a Marxist in the White House.
Feinstein: Reinstate Assault Weapons Ban
Sen. Dianne Feinstein rolled out sweeping legislation that would ban more than 150 types of military-style semiautomatic rifles on Thursday, kicking off the congressional debate on a new assault-weapons ban that both sides say faces a steep uphill climb on Capitol Hill.
The measure is by far the most ambitious of the number of gun-control bills introduced in the wake of the school shootings in Newtown, Conn., last month.
“This is hard to do. It’s not easy to do,” Mrs. Feinstein, California Democrat, said. “I think if the people in [a] red state want their representative to vote for this, they should weigh in, and the representative should listen.”
Her bill seeks to reinstate and expand the ban on assault weapons that was first enacted in 1994, but which lapsed in 2004.
It would prohibit semiautomatic pistols that can accept a detachable magazine and have at least one military feature, such as a pistol grip or telescoping. Purchasing the AR-15 Bushmaster rifle, which was used by the shooter in Newtown, would be illegal under the ban.

A pretty, young, auburn-haired woman – mid-20s – drove down a lonely country road somewhere in Oklahoma. Appearing in her rearview mirror, at the back windshield, were two menacing orbs of light floating amid ashen dusk. The guttural roar of a souped-up big block shook the tiny Volkswagen Rabbit as a van-load of inbred thugs lurched left and drew alongside her. A ponytailed passenger taunted inaudibly and blew foul kisses between crude hand gestures. He pointed for her to pull over as the van repeatedly swerved dangerously close.
Inside the car, a man, asleep in the reclining passenger seat, was startled awake by the commotion. He rose and darted his head about, calmly assessing the situation. This only spurred the evil-bent goons. As they ramped-up efforts to run the car off the road, the man reached in the glove box, withdrew a military-grade, semi-automatic handgun – an “assault weapon,” if you will – and, with intentionality and great theatre, leaned across his young bride, pointing the gun out the open bay and directly between dirt bag’s booze-flushed eyes.
Van vanished amid a plume of gray smoke as wheels locked, tires screeched, and “assault vehicle” fishtailed – jerking to a halt with taillights aglow skyward from the ditch.
Not a shot was fired.
Back at the couple’s rural farmhouse, two boys – boys who would not be orphaned that night – played. We most likely played – my brother Pete and I – with assault rifles fashioned from sticks. I always love to hear Dad retell the story. He does it with an ornery, satisfied grin. “No one’s taking my guns,” he’ll say.
This might be a good time for me to add that no one’s taking my guns either. Period. And if Dianne Feinstein orders me from her lofty perch on the left-coast to retroactively register them with some federal autocracy, I think I might just forget I even have them. Tens of millions of law-abiding, God-fearing Americans just like me and Dad, I suspect, feel the same way.
I love guns. Grew up with ‘em. As a former police officer with 12 years in the U.S. military, I know how to use them, too – use them well. I plan to buy more – a bunch more. In fact, who’s to say I don’t already have a veritable arsenal?
Point is, it ain’t Big Brother Barack’s nor any other candy-keistered-liberal-cream-puff’s bloody business whether I do or not.
See, the left’s totalitarian brand of “gun control” has nothing to do with controlling guns – or bad guys. Rather, it has everything to do with controlling – disarming – the law-abiding masses. It’s not about protecting the innocents. It’s about rendering the innocents defenseless.
Clichés become clichés for a reason, and the old cliché “If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns” rings as true today as it did whenever it was that some homespun fellow coined it.
I was disgusted – physically sickened, in fact – when Barack Obama, president of these Divided States of America, shamelessly exploited the Sandy Hook memorial service to lay the groundwork for his unconstitutional gun-confiscation scheme. It was slimy to the extreme.
I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised. That’s what liberals do. Every time some evil nutjob – pumped full of psychotropic drugs by NEA members who don’t want to deal with them – shoots up the place, the left’s collective mouth begins to water.
“Now, finally, now!” they say, rubbing together soft hands that have never felt the surprising weight of a Sig Sauer 45. “This time we have the political momentum for sweeping gun control. This time the American people will roll over and let us trample the Second Amendment beneath jackbooted executive order or congressional fiat.”
“Let no good crisis go to waste,” right, Rahm?
Well, not so fast, cupcake. As the U.S. Constitution guarantees – and as the Supreme Court has repeatedly affirmed – “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
It ain’t “should not be infringed” or “shall finally be infringed once ‘progressives’ have assumed total dominance.”
No, “shall not” means shall not.
There’s only one way to take my guns, slick, and that’s through a constitutional amendment – an amendment that will never happen – ever. Try it any other way, and we have a problem.
And this whole “assault weapons ban” angle? Sensationalist propaganda. I prefer to call them “defense weapons.” Contrary to left-wing revisionist pabulum, the Second Amendment’s not about squirrel hunting.
Notice a trend here? What do Sandy Hook Elementary, Aurora Colorado’s Century 16 theatre, and Columbine have in common? They’re all “gun free zones.”
Places you don’t see mass murder and mayhem? Well, there’s a reason bad guys largely avoid shooting up gun shows, ranges, households with signs that say “This home insured by Smith & Wesson”, and Texas in general. It’s because they know – even while thick-skulled liberals don’t – that, as recently noted by the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre, “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”
Oh, that rather than “gun free zone,” Sandy Hook had a sign reading: “Staff heavily armed and trained. Any attempts to harm those herein will be met with deadly force.” Might some of those beautiful babies have still died if the P.E. coach and four MP5-bearing teachers had ended the bloodshed soon after it began? Perhaps. But how many precious lives could have been saved?
No, you won’t disarm me. You’re not going to neuter my household and tear away my ability to defend my wife and precious babies like Dad did all those years ago.
I really, really hope this president and his authoritarian cohorts in Congress will slow down, take a deep breath, and realize that right now, they’re playing a very dangerous game of chicken. If they try what I think they might, but hope they don’t, I fear this nation – already on the precipice of widespread civil unrest and economic disaster – might finally spiral into utter chaos, into a second civil war.
But then again, that may be exactly what they have in mind.

It’s Time Patriots Declare Victory In The 2nd Amendment War

Though it’s doubtful anyone will hear much about it, neither lawmakers, judges, or even a president has the constitutional authority to infringe upon the inalienable right of the American people to keep and bear arms.
One hundred thirty eight years ago, the Supreme Court wrote that the right to keep and bear arms “…is not a right granted by the Constitution. Neither is it in any manner dependent upon that instrument for its existence.”
The case was United States v. Cruikshank; and the Court made it clear that the right to keep and bear arms is an inalienable right, God-given and independent of any mandatory approbation by men or their laws for its force and legitimacy.
The Founders were so certain as to the absolute nature of these inalienable rights in the Bill of Rights that Alexander Hamilton suggested in Federalist No. 84 that it was unnecessary even to make them a part of the written Constitution. “For why declare that things shall not be done which there is no power to do,” he wrote, clear in his assertion that men have no authority to meddle with rights deriving from God and nature.
All these years later, the Court has not changed its attitude about the inalienable rights of the American people. In the majority opinion of D.C. v Heller, the Court states that the 2nd Amendment “codifies” the pre-existing right to keep and bear arms; it does not “give” us that right. “[I]t has always been widely understood that the Second Amendment, like the First and Fourth Amendments, codified a pre-existing right. The very text of the Second Amendment implicitly recognizes the pre-existence of the right and declares only that it “shall not be infringed.”
Yet for decades, it has been the aim of gun-banning lawmakers and left-wing jurists to transform the 2nd Amendment into a nonsensical hodgepodge. Children are killed by a psychopath, and the left is pleased to claim that “assault weapons” must be responsible and should therefore be banned. “High capacity” magazines are deemed unnecessary for hunting, and this somehow means they must be outlawed. Individuals thought to be “too dedicated” to the Constitution are accused of being potential domestic terrorists; and for some unknown reason, Libertarians and veterans are not to be trusted as gun owners. It’s an extraordinary mix of non sequiturs designed to add confusion to the 27 word 2nd Amendment.
Well, the Founders of this nation saw nothing complicated about the right of the American people to keep and bear arms; for theirs was a lesson of cruel experience learned from the British enemy during the Revolution. The British knew that disarming the colonies would mean an end to any war, and they focused all of their efforts on the capture of weapons, powder and ball. Surely this is a concept simple enough even for Dianne Feinstein—disarm an enemy, and they will become the easy prey of a would-be tyrant.
For the Founders, the right to keep and bear arms became nothing more complicated than “…the right of armed self-defense against tyranny.” Indeed, that was the purpose of the right as later expressed in the 2nd Amendment. And in spite of the best efforts of modern hoplophobes and would-be tyrants to confuse the issue, it has not changed to this day.
It’s past time for American patriots to tell the left that issues concerning the right to keep and bear arms were decided long ago and in our favor. We will tolerate no further aggression against our inalienable right to defend our families, our lives, and our property from the treachery of thieves, liars, and tyrants who populate the Democrat Party.
To paraphrase Mike Vanderboegh of Sipsey Street Irregulars: “If you don’t try to steal our guns, we won’t kill you.” What could be fairer than that?!

Senators, Congressmen, And Mr President, You All Work For Us
A letter from a former Marine Corporal, Joshua Boston, has gone viral on the Internet. When I was done reading it, I was absolutely speechless—which to anyone that knows me is a miracle in itself. I sat with tears in my eyes thanking God that we have such men in this country. They have stood in places and fought and died, where you and I would probably never want to go and visit, let alone live there. This young Corporal exhibited maturity way beyond his years. He spoke out to California Senator, Dianne Feinstein, the queen of anti-gun legislation—even though she, herself, carries! No hypocrisy there. Joshua Boston said what needed to be said to these bubble heads in Washington D.C.
Senators, Congressmen, and Mr President, you all work for us! As startling as that statement is, it is true! Somehow the thinking got turned around in this country and the Washington D.C. power machine, started usurping the powers that were by the Constitution , specifically granted to the states. Money was suddenly being taken from all producers in this country and given to those who simply wanted to sit on their butts and contribute nothing. In 2008, the Progressives managed to elect a pathological liar as the President of the United States. Barack Hussein Obama. A man who cannot make decisions without a handful of women whispering in his ear.
Obama has flagrantly refused to enforce American law. He has broken American law by trying to hide violations of that law under such things as “executive privilege.” He has promised to violate the Second Amendment rights of all legitimate gun owners aided by his anti-gun Pit Bull, Senator Dianne Feinstein. Feinstein apparently has a CCW permit because she does carry a firearm; she just doesn’t want the average American to be able to do it. The Progressives want to turn America into a “gun free zone” so that the madmen in this country can rack up bigger scores. I just wonder who they will blame when they find out that their idiotic idea didn’t work. Forgive me ….I digress.
The only legal way for Obama, and his Progressive followers to legitimately confiscate America’s guns is to amend the Constitution, by getting 2/3 of each house of Congress to pass an amendment, then getting 3/4 of the 50 states to ratify it. Any other method of trying to outlaw weapons in unconstitutional, and would end up starting a very bloody civil war. If Obama attempts to put through anymore restrictive gun laws, then every person who owns a gun, thought about owning a gun, or is concerned about what other freedoms they are about to lose needs to get on the phone and ask their Congressman, or Senator if they like being in politics.
What I’m trying to say is this: Any law, rule, or regulation that restricts sane, normal citizens from obtaining a firearm is unconstitutional, and therefore illegal!! The Second Amendment was put into the Constitution to prevent exactly what Obama and his leftist minions are attempting to do right now, usurp all governmental powers unto themselves. Our Forefathers had to fight England, and a despotic monarch to allow this country to flourish. I believe that there are still enough patriots left in this country to do it once again if it becomes necessary.
No one, not even the President of the United States is above the law in this country. We are a nation of laws, not men, and it would do the Progressives well to remember that. 2013 is the beginning of a new year, and a chance for us to take back America from the redistributionist, who somehow managed to gain control of a country he hates. If you don’t like being a free citizen of the greatest country the world has ever seen, then just keep allowing Obama and his corrupt thugs to continue their pursuit of no accountability and you will find yourself a “subject” soon enough.
Maybe it is time for everyone in America to read the letter that former Marine Corporal Joshua Boston wrote to Senator Dianne Feinstein about gun control. I believe that that young man speaks for all of law abiding gun owners. It’s worth your time, believe me.

The Left Is Convinced Americans Won’t Fight For 2nd Amendment Rights

Once cowed at the thought of provoking Second Amendment supporters, leftists will soon attempt to ban “assault weapons” (and much more) as legislation offered by Dianne Feinstein makes its way to the Senate floor. It seems that D.C. liberals have finally become convinced that American gun owners are too cowardly, too lazy or too dependent upon the generosity of Big Brother to fight for their Second Amendment rights.
During the past four years, the gun banning-Left have watched as American buyers broke sales records in the purchase of semi-automatic rifles. Opting for these and other powerful, efficient weapons, it is estimated that some 100 million private citizens are now in possession of over 300 million firearms. And these numbers continue to grow with each passing month.
Yet it’s against this backdrop of America’s unprecedented determination to assert the fundamental permanence of Second Amendment guarantees that Diane Feinstein, Michael Bloomberg, Barack Obama and others will choose to implement gun bans, demand the federal registration of firearms, and even legislate outright confiscation.
Maybe Democrats are confident that fallout from Sandy Hook will provide the floor votes necessary to disarm the American people. But if the Left is willing to risk picking this fight with millions of American gun owners, it must also believe something far more important—that Americans who have spent years arming themselves against the ultimate expression of tyranny by their own government–the overthrow of the Second Amendment– will choose to not fight when the time finally comes.
For decades, the Left have watched Americans simply “lie down” before every imaginable outrage and legislative assault on our liberty. The Constitution has been prostituted by power-hungry, America-hating Marxists in Congress, on the federal bench and in the White House. Elected officials have laughed when asked to provide Constitutional authority for the passage of massively unpopular pieces of legislation. Tax dollars are insolently manipulated to purchase votes, grease the skids of questionable legislation, and add to the wealth of bureaucrats and elected officials. And through it all, Americans are robbed of more and more liberty as we do nothing but “vote ‘em in and cuss ‘em out” every two years.
Liberals have come to depend upon the willingness of Americans to subordinate their desire for liberty to the wishes and whims of the political ruling class. The cowardly are rewarded for relenting while those with the courage to question dictatorial authority and refuse to submit are accused of domestic terrorism. And all who press their own beliefs—or worse, those of the nations’ Founders– are met with ridicule or intimidation in what was at one time a nation of free, thinking individuals.
In short, the Left has come to expect cowardice or disinterested submission from a people trained for decades to accept as given that the good intentions of their elected betters are sufficient to fulfill the requirements of constitutional authority. And it’s a safe bet neither Democrats nor RINO’s will expect anything different from the majority of Americans this time around as Feinstein and Company legislate last rites and a funeral for the Second Amendment.
We know what the Left believe. We’ll soon find out if they are right.
