Surprise! North Korea Might Have Nuclear Ballistic Missiles After All!

By Breaking News

Remember how Vice President Joe Biden, grinning and rolling his eyes like a madman, assured America during the 2012 vice-presidential debate that there was no reason to worry about Iranian nukes, because the intelligence community would know the very instant they were ready to deploy one? Within a couple of days, Biden was hiding under his desk and claiming that very same intelligence community fabricated the phony “spontaneous video protest” narrative of the Benghazi terror attack, making fools of the entire Administration by giving them false talking points.

And now it turns out that all those assurances we’ve heard about how North Korea can’t put a nuclear warhead into a long-range missile might have become suddenly… inoperative, at the very moment tensions on the Korean peninsula hit a post-war high.

Eli Lake at the Daily Beast – one of the best reporters covering the Benghazi saga, which the rest of the media ignored almost as hard as they’ve pretended not to notice the Kermit Gosnell abortion-horror trial – writes that new Pentagon report “says North Korea likely has nuclear warheads.”

According to the report, “DIA assesses with moderate confidence the North currently has nuclear weapons capable of delivery by ballistic missiles however the reliability will be low.” That line was read aloud by Rep. Doug Lamborn, a Republican from Colorado, on Thursday during a House Armed Services Committee hearing.

Glenn Beck: Michele Bachmann Under Investigation Because She’s Against Radical Islam (VIDEO)

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Glenn Beck suggested Tuesday that the ethics investigation into the erstwhile presidential campaign of Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) is retribution for the congresswoman’s outspoken crusade against what she has called the threat of radical Islam.

“We have been sold to radical Islam,” Beck said matter-of-factly on his Internet show. “It has infiltrated and we have documented it.”

Beck continued, claiming that radical Islam is so powerful it affected the nonpartisan Office of Congressional Ethics, which, according to a Daily Beast report, is questioning former Bachmann staffers regarding “allegations of improper transfer of funds and under-the-table payments actions by Bachmann’s presidential campaign.”

Michele Bachmann Presidential Campaign Under Ethics Investigation: Report

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Rep. Michele Bachmann’s (R-Minn.) presidential campaign is under investigation by the Office of Congressional Ethics for campaign finance violations, the Daily Beast reported Monday.

Bachmann unsuccessfully ran for the Republican nomination during the 2012 presidential campaign cycle. According to the Daily Beast report, federal investigators are interviewing former staffers across the country about alleged campaign finance improprieties:

“I have been interviewed by investigators,” says Peter Waldron, a former Bachmann staffer who’s embroiled in his own fight with his former boss, involving his allegations of pay-to-play politics and improper payments by the campaign—making him one of several members of Bachmann’s inner circle who’ve fallen out with the woman they once hoped would become commander in chief. While he was careful to avoid specifics in regard to the investigating body, Waldron said that “investigators came [and] interviewed me and are interviewing other staff members across the country.”

Meghan McCain: ‘Being A Republican Who Supports Gay Marriage Is A Bitch’

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Meghan McCain said that being a Republican who supports gay marriage is a “bitch” at an event sponsored by the Young Conservatives for the Freedom to Marry on Monday, Raw Story reported.

The MSNBC contributor and daughter of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is a longtime supporter of marriage equality. McCain joined Young Conservatives for the Freedom to Marry leadership in November 2012.

In May 2012, McCain questioned the sincerity of President Barack Obama’s support for gay marriage. In an op-ed for the Daily Beast, McCain claimed that “talk was cheap during election season” and true support would include backing legislation to legalize same sex marriage.

Court Documents Reveal How Blackwater Served As Effective Extension Of CIA: Daily Beast

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Last month a three-year-long federal prosecution of Blackwater collapsed. The government‘s 15-felony indictment–on such charges as conspiring to hide purchases of automatic rifles and other weapons from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives–could have led to years of jail time for Blackwater personnel. In the end, however, the government got only misdemeanor guilty pleas by two former executives, each of whom were sentenced to four months of house arrest, three years’ probation, and a fine of $5,000. Prosecutors dropped charges against three other executives named in the suit and abandoned the felony charges altogether.

Newsweek: Inauguration Is Second Coming

By Breaking News

Newsweek SecondComingcover 2013 01 18 300x214 Newsweek: Inauguration is Second Coming

Conservatives have long joked that the national press corps see Barack Obama as the second coming of Jesus Christ. Today, Newsweek – at least what’s left of it, an online product for tablets and e-readers – made it official.

Next to a side shot of Obama’s head, the “Inauguration 2013” cover story pronounces: “The Second Coming.”

It’s an article by long-time Newsweek veteran Evan Thomas, who left the magazine after Tina Brown took over from the Washington Post Company and folded the debt-ridden publication into her Daily Beast site.

The January 18, 2013-dated online magazine, was posted Friday and I learned about it via an e-mail sent tonight (Friday) to those who were subscribers to the printed magazine.

Linking God and Obama isn’t new for Thomas, once an Assistant Managing Editor and Washington Bureau Chief for the former weekly.
