Quentin Tarantino: Christoph Waltz just comes out of my pen

NEW YORK, April 19 (UPI) — Oscar-winning filmmaker Quentin Tarantino says after working with Christoph Waltz on 2009’s “Inglourious Basterds,” he found himself writing a role specifically for Austrian actor in “Django Unchained.”

What's Next for Tim Burton?

Filmmaker Tim Burton will direct Oscar winner Christoph Waltz and Amy Adams in Big Eyes, written by Ed Wood scribes Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. The Weinstein Company will fund and distribute the project.

According to Deadline, Waltz and Adams will play Walter and Margaret Keane, whose paintings of large-eyed children became one of the first mass marketed art sensations in the 1950s and ’60s. While Margaret was generally considered the better artist of the two, Walter took the lion’s share of the credit. Following their divorce, they ended up in court over due rights to their artwork. Once there, a judge provided them with two easels and ordered them to prove which artist was more capable.

Academy Award Winners 2013: Who Won An Oscar?

” target=”_hplink”>Oscars took place in Los Angeles on Sunday night, with a bevy of Hollywood’s top talent being added to the list of Academy Award Winners for 2013.

The top six categories went as such: Best Picture was awarded to “Argo”, Best Actor went to Daniel Day-Lewis, Jennifer Lawrence won Best Actress, Ang Lee earned Best Directing and Christoph Waltz and Anne Hathaway won the Best Supporting Categories for Actor and Actress, respectively.

Affleck's Argo Wins Big at BAFTAs

Argo won big at this year’s BAFTAs, with the political thriller picking up both best picture, and best director for Ben Affleck’s work behind the camera.

Skyfall was named best British film, the first major award that the Bond series has won in more than 50 years.

Quentin Tarantino picked up the original screenplay award for Django Unchained, with Christoph Waltz winning best supporting actor for his turn in the hugely successful western.

And as expected, Daniel Day-Lewis was named best actor for his performance in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln.

Gervais Up for The Muppets Sequel

British comedian Ricky Gervais is currently in negotiations to star as the human lead in Disney’s The Muppets Sequel.

Should a deal go through, Gervais would join the recently cast Ty Burrell, who replaced Christoph Waltz as the lazy interpol inspector.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gervais’ part is being compared to the role played by Jason Segel in the 2011 Muppets movie. However, with the script still under lock and key, it is uncertain how this new character will play into the story.
