Cameron Diaz in Talks to Make Sex Tape

We may have a Bad Teacher reunion on our hands, as Cameron Diaz enters early talks to join co-star Jason Segel and director Jake Kasdan‘s comedy Sex Tape.

The story centers on a married couple who decide to spice things up by making a sex tape. When they wake up the next morning, the tape is gone, prompting them to figure out where it is and who took it.

Diaz had been rumored for the female lead almost a year ago, but The Wrap reports that formal negotiations are now underway at Sony.

Tina Fey to Star in Muppets Sequel?

Could Tina Fey be joining the Muppet fray? According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 30 Rock actress is in “late-stage negotiations” with Disney to star as the female lead in the sequel to 2011’s The Muppets. She’ll join confirmed cast members Rickey Gervais and Ty Burrell (Modern Family) in a caper set in Europe.

Although original Muppet mastermind Jason Segel won’t be returning, director James Bobin has returned to write and direct the sequel, joined by co-scribe Nicholas Stoller. Flight of the Conchords star Bret McKenzie, who wrote the critically lauded music in the first film, is locked in once again for soundtrack duties.

Gervais Up for The Muppets Sequel

British comedian Ricky Gervais is currently in negotiations to star as the human lead in Disney’s The Muppets Sequel.

Should a deal go through, Gervais would join the recently cast Ty Burrell, who replaced Christoph Waltz as the lazy interpol inspector.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gervais’ part is being compared to the role played by Jason Segel in the 2011 Muppets movie. However, with the script still under lock and key, it is uncertain how this new character will play into the story.
