It would be nice if all games were free, but we all know that will never happen. Thankfully the inter-webs offer a somewhat comparable option (though let’s face it, not as good as free) by supplying deals on games quite regularly — the trick is just knowing when and where to find them. Lucky for you, we’ve come up with a new Daily Fix segment that should prove to be a helpful tool in your never-ending quest for video game bargains. Called “Deals Of The Week,” we’ll unveil the latest video game deals for you on the show starting today, and then every Wednesday thereafter. I encourage you to watch the Fix to get the full idea. We’d also like some feedback, so…would you kindly?
Without further ado, here are the stories covered in today’s Fix:

Nintendo has confirmed that Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be released on the Wii U later this year.
The game will be available alongside the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions and will launch on August 20 in North America, August 22 in Europe and August 23 in the UK.
According to Nintendo, the GamePad will be integrated to allow players to control gadgets, take out enemies, move through the environment and switch between weapons, as well as other features. Motion-based input will also have a role to play alongside the peripheral’s standard touch screen functionality.
Rumours have been rife that Fisher’s latest adventure would appear on Nintendo’s console since Gamestop advertised the game as being available on Wii U last October, but this is the first time it’s been officially confirmed.

Since Splinter Cell: Blacklist was originally announced, it’s been clear that it’s attempting to merge two concepts: the pure stealth of the original Splinter Cell games with the fast-paced action of Conviction. While classic modes like Spies vs. Mercs have returned, they’re married to modern concepts like mark-and-execute that create a whole new type of Splinter Cell experience.
During the Game Developer’s Conference last week, we had a chance to sit down with Ubisoft Toronto managing director Jade Raymond to discuss the evolution of the franchise, changes to the E3 demo’s torture scenes, the possibility of next-gen versions and much more.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist developer Ubisoft Toronto will take on five projects, including a future Assassin’s Creed game.
“As we’re wrapping up Splinter Cell, we’re also looking to expanding, so we’re going to be working on five different projects,” Ubisoft Toronto managing director Jade Raymond told IGN. “One of the franchises that’s very near and dear to me, Assassin’s Creed, is one of the ones we’re going to be collaborating on in Toronto, as well as one other big franchise which we’re not going to announce yet. But we’re going to be doing two other big collaborations also with Montreal.”
We asked Raymond if she was referring to Assassin’s Creed IV, and she clarified that Toronto’s project is “not Black Flag because we’re currently shipping. So an upcoming Assassin’s Creed.”
Ubisoft has announced multiple collector’s editions for Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist. The following packages will be available exclusively in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) territories.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be available on PC, Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on August 20th, worldwide.
Sadly, there’s no sign of the Paladin Multi-Mission Aircraft Edition for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. That’s seems to be remaining as a NA and Latin American exclusive. We at least get a watch!
