“No, I’m not,” Gomez replied. When Seacrest asked her if she learned a lot by being in a serious relationship with such a high profile star at a young age, Gomez responded that she learned she should “definitely keep it way more private next time.”

Justin Timberlake Announces Follow-up To ‘The 20/20 Experience’

By The Huffington Post News Editors

By Piya Sinha-Roy
LOS ANGELES, March 18 (Reuters) – Justin Timberlake celebrated the release of his first album since 2006 with a lively show in Los Angeles, whetting fans’ appetites by confirming media reports that he would release more new music soon.
At an intimate album release party for “The 20/20 Experience” on Monday, Timberlake took the opportunity to clear up media reports that he would be releasing a second volume of music later this year.
“I’ve got to clear up the rumors. This whole thing about this only being the first part … is true. There is another half. I’m not giving you a release date,” the singer said.
Earlier in the day, media outlets reported that Roots drummer Questlove said in an interview that Timberlake would release a second volume of music in November this year.
“The 20/20 Experience” marks the singer’s return to the musical spotlight after taking time out to focus on his acting career, starring in films such as “The Social Network” and “Friends with Benefits.”
Timberlake, 32, sang a few of his latest hits and earlier songs for the audience, and answered questions from fans about his new record, including why it took him six years to release a new album after his hugely successful 2006 “FutureSexLoveSounds,” which featured the hit single “Sexyback.”
“I definitely enjoy all the entertaining but music is definitely the most special thing to me, and that’s probably why I wait so long in between records, because for me, no pun intended, it’s an experience,” the singer said in an interview with Ryan Seacrest between songs.
Timberlake has successfully transitioned from child star and member of boyband N’Sync to bona fide actor and solo singer.
The album marks a new chapter in the singer’s life, following his marriage to actress Jessica Biel in October 2012.
Timberlake sang three songs from the new album – romantic ballad “Mirrors,” smooth R&B track “Suit & Tie” and the …read more

Ryan Seacrest, Julianne Hough Split After Almost Three Years Together (REPORT)

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough have reportedly called it quits after dating for almost three years.

According to People, sources close to the couple have confirmed that they have decided to take a break and are currently living apart. The sources say both Seacrest and Hough’s busy work schedules ended up being too much on their relationship, although they remain friends and are in regular contact.

“Honestly, their schedules were too hectic,” an insider tells Us Weekly, explaining that Seacrest’s “American Idol” hosting gig, as well as Hough’s work commitments played a huge factor in the breakup. “It just got to be too much. I think they both just sort of knew they couldn’t do it anymore,” the source adds. “The travel and lifestyle got to be too much. Who knows if this is just for now, but I think this is for good.”

How Much Is Netflix Paying to Produce Original Shows?

By Anders Bylund, The Motley Fool

Filed under:

Netflix is notoriously tight-lipped when it comes to the costs of producing fresh content for its own exclusive use. But third parties are spilling the beans.

A self-described “super agent” at a major Hollywood talent agency just provided detailed estimates on what Netflix pays per episode of this year’s new in-house shows. And the company isn’t skimping on budgets: The “cheapest” show on deck would be prison dramedy Orange Is the New Black, which costs about $3.8 million per episode.

The numbers, please
Here’s the cost per show, according to Creative Artists Agency agent Peter Micelli, by way of a report in Variety :

Show

Genre

Cost Per Episode

Cost Per Season

House of Cards

Political drama

“Way above” $4.5 million

More than $60 million

Hemlock Grove

Werewolf horror

About $4 million

$52 million

Orange Is the New Black

Prison drama/comedy

Just under $4 million

$49 million

These are not hard numbers straight from the source, but Micelli’s estimates presumably based on discussions with Netflix and other stakeholders. CAA is one of the “big four” talent agencies, and even though Netflix seems to have chosen actors from other agencies in most cases, you can safely assume that CAA sat at every show’s negotiating table.

Agents certainly have a clue what the going rate for acting services is, and you can’t consider a 13-episode role without knowing something about the production values surrounding the cast as well. Moreover, CAA knows plenty about the television industry, managing big names such as David Letterman and Ryan Seacrest when it isn’t busy launching the Oprah Winfrey Network or hit shows such as House and American Idol. That’s why I think Micelli should have a better view of Netflix’s production budgets than most of us mere mortals.

Whoa, doggie! Will production costs eat Netflix alive?

Isn’t that a bit high, though?
These figures are a bit higher than the rumors you’ve seen elsewhere. House of Cards was supposed to be the big-ticket title at roughly $100 million for two seasons, but Micelli’s figure is at least 20% higher. And all three of the shows he discussed broadly match the oft-guessed figures for House of Cards. If this agent is anywhere near the real figures, Netflix is spending way more on these shows that analysts and pundits have been assuming so far.

Micelli reminded his audience — about 500 entertainment lawyers at a symposium hosted by UCLA — that the costs are much higher than your regular, run-of-the-mill hour of serialized TV drama. HBO flagship Game of Thrones reportedly plays in the same budget ZIP code. That show is a huge selling point when Time Warner peddles its premium HBO service and has collected eight Emmy Awards in just two seasons. Quality production pays off. Sometimes you get what you paid for.

Micelli also noted that a significant chunk of these costs would account for global …read more

Quvenzhane Wallis, Jessica Chastain Oscars 2013: Youngest Best Actress Nominee Chats With Fellow Contender (PHOTO)

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Nothing but smiles tonight (Feb. 24) between two Best Actress nominees Quvenzhane Wallis and Jessica Chastain: Wallis, who is the youngest ever nominee in the category at only 9 years old, showed up at red carpet with her trusty puppy purse and showed it to her fellow runner-up Jessica Chastain.

Chastain, stunning in her golden nude strapless dress, seemed genuinely interested in Hushpuppy’s interesting choice of accessory. Later, Wallis told Ryan Seacrest this particular puppy is named after the one she has at home, Sandy. We can only imagine the sweet words exchanged between the two beauties (“Look Jess!”).

Wallis is nominated for her role in the indie hit “Beasts of the Southern Wild” and Chastain is nominated for the movie “Zero Dark Thirty.”
