Gosling, Efron Rumored for Star Wars

drive_gosling_1280a

Well, if this rumor is true then some fanboy somewhere is sure to have a conniption.

Latino-Review says director-producer J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm are eying Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron for roles in Star Wars: Episode VII. “As for what role Efron would be playing, we don’t know. He could be a Solo kid. But what I was told for sure is the Gosling went in for Skywalker’s son. Yes, that’s right Luke’s kid,” claims the site.

Selena Gomez’s Celebrity Crush Is Not Justin Bieber, But He Sure Is Who She’s Cuddling (VIDEO, PHOTO)

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Selena Gomez recently revealed who her celebrity crush is and, surprise surprise, it’s not her famous crooner ex, Justin Bieber. It’s (drum roll, please) everyone’s Hey Girl, Ryan Gosling.

Gomez went on Z100 to promote her new single “Come and Get it” when host Elvis Duran asked her if she has a Hollywood crush.

Ryan Gosling,” admitted a blushing Gomez. “That’s a given… But he’s super-cute. I’ve not met him yet. I’ve seen him on an airplane and I freaked out so I didn’t even… I don’t even think he saw me.”

Movie Awards 2013: MTV Red Carpet Brings Out Good Fashion… And Bad (PHOTOS)

By The Huffington Post News Editors

The MTV Movie Awards aren’t the most highly viewed awards in the biz, nor are they the most fashionable. But the event still manages to produce memorable pop culture moments each year, from Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams’ swoon-worthy onstage kiss in 2005 to Beyonce’s solo statement in that corseted yellow Versace dress in 2003.

So it is with high hopes that we’re tuning in to this year’s MTV Movie Awards, hosted by Rebel Wilson. The film nominees include “Django Unchained,” “Ted” and “The Dark Knight Rises” but we’re obviously a bit more interested in the award for “Best Kiss.”

Oh, and the fashion. Check out the red carpet style below and tell us whose looks you love!

The Place Beyond The Pines Review

By Daniel Krupa

The Place Beyond The Pines…

That’s quite a lofty titles. What actually lies beyond the pines? The answer seems to be another life from the one we are destined to lead. Or at least that seems to be the abiding theme of Derek Cianfrance‘s ambitious, generation-spanning drama that never really shoulders the weight of the lofty, somewhat pretentious title.

The film is carved into three distinct movements. The first centres on Ryan Gosling’s character; bleached hair, heavily tattooed, he’s a motorcycle stuntman in a traveling fair – a carnie without a cause. And he’s really good, though he’s delivering what’s rapidly becoming his signature performance – the taciturn antihero whose cool demeanor imprisons terrible violence. He finds out that he’s a father to a baby boy, and presumably not wishing to revisit the sins of his father, he sets about providing for the child and mother. Given his station in life and the fact his only discernible skill is being able to ride a motorcycle really, really fast, he turns to robbing banks.

Eva Mendes Talks Fashion And Her Own Clothing Line

By The Huffington Post News Editors

NEW YORK — Eva Mendes will be doing the red-carpet circuit again with her new film, “The Place Beyond the Pines,” co-starring Ryan Gosling, coming out later this month. But while she lands more often than not in the fashion “do” column, Mendes says she knows she’s made a few mistakes along the way, including one look she calls “Princess Jasmine gone wrong.”

Still, she has style credibility – and is making the most of it. She’s working on her own clothing line for New York & Company and is hoping to have it in stores for the fall. She’s also been tapped to represent Vogue eyewear.

21 Animals That Have Absolutely Nothing To Say About Sequestration (SLIDESHOW)

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Despite polls showing most Americans are in favor of spending cuts in general, it’s hard to get people to pay attention to the details of the looming sequester. BuzzFeed’s McCay Coppins examined why sequestration is so bad for traffic, asking editors from the Atlantic Wire, the Daily Caller and even The Huffington Post how to get people interested.

The Atlantic Wire tried to rename the issue, calling it the “spendocalypse.” Gawker took a more visual approach, presenting a sequester explainer featuring Ryan Gosling and Kate Upton.

The Washington Post’s Wonkblog had a different take on the subject, presenting 21 animals who “have strong feelings on the sequester.”

Kurt Cobain Movie: Celebrate Late Nirvana Singer’s Birthday By Dreamcasting His Biopic

By The Huffington Post News Editors

Since Kurt Cobain committed suicide on April 5, 1994, Hollywood studios have released rock biopics based on the lives of Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, Ian Curtis, Notorious B.I.G. and Bobby Darin — and yet not Cobain. Save for “Last Days,” Gus Van Sant‘s 2005 film about a singer not unlike Cobain (played by former “Boardwalk Empire” star Michael Pitt), the Nirvana frontman has been kept off the big screen. With ’90s nostalgia in bloom, however, thanks to multiple boy band reunions and addictive reminders of the decade from websites like BuzzFeed, is the time right for Kurt Cobain: The Movie?

Kurt Cobain would have turned 46 on Feb. 20, 2012; he was 27 when he shot himself in his Seattle home. That means a Kurt Cobain movie could provide Hollywood’s budding leading men with the type of opportunity usually only reserved for superhero films and sci-fi blockbusters: The chance at playing the role of a lifetime.

In the past, actors like Ryan Gosling, Robert Pattinson, Ewan McGregor and Jared Leto have been mentioned as possible onscreen incarnations of Cobain; Courtney Love, the singer’s former girlfriend, who had a child with Cobain, reportedly wanted Gosling for the role. The charismatic star is now 32, however, and with no Kurt Cobain movie on the horizon in the near future, he’ll be aged out of consideration by the time the project actually moves forward.
