Infinite Crisis: Nightmare Batman vs. Wonder Woman
Late last month, Warner Bros. blew our minds by announcing Infinite Crisis, a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) based on DC Comics’ beloved multiverse. We at IGN have done our best to explain it, but now, developer Turbine is showing it. Below are videos profiling Nightmare Batman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern. Check’em out, and then catch our detailed conversation for the full rundown on what Infinite Crisis is all about.

A Look at DC Comics' Videogame Fight Club, 'Infinite Crisis'

I’ve come a long way from the girl gamer who only likes adventure and RPG games to a girl gamer who finds herself sitting in front of a multiplayer online battle arena game, genuinely enjoying pounding the snot out of Green Lantern. (Take that, Guy Gardner, you macho jerk.) In the upcoming multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) from Turbine Inc., Infinite Crisis, there’s an awful lot of pounding, blasting, and shooting to be had—and you can use characters from DC Universe to do it.

DC Universe MOBA Announced
Warner Bros. Interactive and DC Entertainment have announced Infinite Crisis, a comic book take on the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) genre. The game is being developed by Turbine, previously responsible for various free-to-play online titles including The Lord of the Rings Online. The game will feature “a deep roster of DC Comics characters”, and is scheduled for release on PC sometime in 2013.
It will feature competitive player vs. player battles, and take its inspiration from the Infinite Crisis storyline, letting players take control of “twisted incarnations of their favourite characters throughout the Multiverse” – that includes characters such as Nightmare Batman and Gaslight Catwoman. It will also feature traditional incarnations of characters like Green Lantern and The Flash.

Falling for League of Legends Again
I’ve played League of Legends for a few years now, but only in the last few weeks did I really start playing League. My previous affairs with Riot’s MOBA were fleeting; I enjoyed myself and had some fun, but I was mostly doing it to pass the time. When the friends I was playing with lost interest in it and moved onto the next hottest game, so did I. I simply didn’t understand how people spent hundreds, if not thousands, of hours with it.
Then I started watching competitive play.
Now I finally see why a few of my friends have loved League for years. There’s a layer of tactical depth that isn’t easily discerned until you play with people who understand its finer mechanics. The push-and-pull of team fights, the different phases of play, the terminology – all serve as a language barrier you have to break down. Now that I’ve done so I see my in-game mistakes as if they’ve been highlighted. I watch live matches and can tell who’s likely to win before an engagement happens. League of Legends is no longer the same game that it was to me. Playing with better people has bred a different way of playing, and made it a much, much more enjoyable experience whether I’m scoring kills or simply spectating.
