In case you haven’t heard — although that would be hard to believe! — Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are expecting a baby. The little girl or boy, who will be third in line to the British throne, could be born any day now. In the months since the royals announced their news, there has been an explosion of excitement all over the world, with companies creating new royal-baby-themed products (pillows, plates or cookies, anyone?) and people betting money on everything from the child’s name and hair color to his or her Olympic chances. As for the Queen herself, she said this week that she’s ready for the baby to arrive — since she’s about to go on vacation.

If you believe the bookmakers, the first child of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge will be a girl, and she will be called Alexandra.
British bookies firm Coral has slashed the odds on the name to 2-1 from 25-1 after receiving an unusually large flurry of bets on it.
Spokesman Simon Clare said Thursday the company had taken 10,000 bets on various names, but he was surprised to see about 2,000 pounds ($3,080) in bets on Alexandra in a matter of hours.
Rivals William Hill and Ladbrokes also have Alexandra as 2-1 favorite.
Earlier, Coral suspended bets on the baby being a girl. The royal couple say they don’t know the gender, but last month Kate Middleton appeared to let slip that it was a girl.

Detroit may not have its own monarchy, but that doesn’t mean local ladies can’t outfit themselves in royal fashion on this side of the pond. Now Motor City shopping mavens can snatch up new spring styles from a collection that’s favored by ultimate British trendsetter Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.
The first L.K. Bennett store in Michigan opened late last fall in Troy’s Somerset Collection. From one store that began in Wimbledon in 1990, L.K. Bennett has now expanded to 160 stores around the world.

Even royals can’t avoid the pesky pitfalls that come with wearing high heels.
Kate Middleton attended the rainy St. Patrick’s Day parade at the Aldershot Barracks today, looking absolutely stunning in a green Emilia Wickstead dress coat (the same one she wore last year!), a black hat, the Queen Mother‘s gold shamrock brooch and Emmy pumps. The only hitch? The duchess nearly fell in her trusty black heels when they got stuck in a grate.
Colonel of the Regiment Prince William, dressed in ceremonial uniform, seemed to giggle while a soldier stood still in salute as Kate was forced to bend down and pull her stiletto out of the drain. Thankfully, it was only a minor malfunction and the Duchess of Cambridge was able to get back to her official duty of presenting sprigs of shamrocks to the 1st Battalion Irish Guards.

Many New Yorkers are scrambling to the offices of local plastic surgeons to get a new nose: that of British royal and picture-perfect fashionista Kate Middleton.
According to a report by the New York Daily News, Middleton’s perky schnoz has become “spring’s hottest accessory” for many New York women — so much so that many plastic surgeons in the city say they’ve seen a burgeoning number of requests for the royal nose in recent months.
“A couple of months ago, these women started coming into my office and asking for Kate Middleton’s nose,” Dr. Stephen T. Greenberg, a Manhattan plastic surgeon and author told the Daily News. “It has become so popular that we have made a file of a dozen Kate Middleton pictures to show patients when they come in for their consultation.”

LONDON, Feb. 19 (UPI) — Novelist Hilary Mantel described Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, as a “mannequin” with no personality, during a recent lecture at the British Museum.
One of the DJs who was involved in a prank call to Kate Middleton‘s hospital – which led to the suicide of a nurse – has returned to the airwaves in Australia.
Michael Christian was booted from Sydney-based 2Day FM in December after he and show co-host Mel Greig pretended to be the Queen and Prince Charles in a call to a hospital in London where the Duchess of Cambridge was being treated for a pregnancy-related illness, The Guardian reports.
The nurse who answered the call, Jacintha Saldanha, forwarded it to the room where Middleton was being treated. Saldanha killed herself three days later.
Christian resurfaced Monday as the host of a weekday morning music show on Fox FM in Melbourne, owned by Southern Cross Austereo, which also runs 2Day FM, the Guardian reports.
In the first show Christian made no mention of the controversy and did not take calls.
Southern Cross Austereo CEO Ryhs Holleran praised Christian’s return.
“We are happy to have Michael back on air,” he said. “We have always supported our talent returning to work when appropriate and today marks that occasion for MC.”
Stars had an exciting week between the Super Bowl, movie sets, and the start of New York Fashion Week. Jennifer Aniston sported a blond wig while filming in Connecticut, while Kate Middleton covered her baby bump with a cape for a shopping trip around London. Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck took their daughter Seraphina on a breakfast date in LA, and Beyoncé Knowles rocked her Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans.
