Felicia Day Explains The Evolution Of Nerd Culture

Hollywood actress and producer Felicia Day has established a faithful following from her days in geek hits like Fox’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Syfy’s Eureka. One of the YouTube pioneers with The Guild and the original Dragon Age Redemption video series based on Electronic Arts-owned BioWare’s Dragon Age franchise, Day is now leading the charge at Geek & Sundry, which just premiered April 2 as a YouTube premium channel.

American McGee's Akaneiro Comes to Comics

American McGee’s latest PC offering, Akaneiro: Demon Hunters — which is currently raising funds on Kickstarter — is getting its very own comic book mini-series courtesy of Dark Horse Comics, also known for their other successful comic book/video game tie-ins like Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

Written by Justin Aclin with art by Vasilis Lolos, Akaneiro #1 is the first of three issues to explore American McGee’s re-imagining of the Red Riding Hood legend within Japanese folklore.

Dead Space 3 Features Mass Effect Armor

EA has announced that anyone who’s played Mass Effect 3 will get N7 armor in Dead Space 3. According to EA, as long as a Mass Effect 3 save file is present, you’ll get N7 armor as soon as you play the full game of Dead Space 3, as seen in the trailer below:

This isn’t the first time EA has done this type of crossover, following Dragon Age armor in Mass Effect 2 in 2010 and Mass Effect armor in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning last year.

Dead Space 3 will hit stores on February 5th. A demo was released today on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Dragon Age 3 is "Stunningly Beautiful", Says Dev

Dragon Age III: Inquisition is shaping up to be a visual feast thanks to the new Frostbite 2 engine, according to BioWare’s Neil Thompson.

Speaking to OXM, Thompson revealed that the game’s artists have been left disappointed in the past over how their visions were realised using BioWare’s own Eclipse engine, but were now feeling very positive.

Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 were both done using BioWare’s own Eclipse engine, and it was starting to creak a little bit when Dragon Age 2 came out,” Thompson admitted. “Inquisition is being done on the Frostbite 2 engine and it is an astonishingly powerful engine.”
