The city of Seattle hasn’t had it easy, sports wise. Its former NBA club, the Sonics, left town in 2008. This past year, efforts to get pro basketball back to the city by luring the Sacramento Kings fell short. The NFL Seahawks made a gallant playoff run behind young quarterback Russell Wilson, only to suffer a gut-wrenching 30-28 loss to Atlanta one round shy of the conference championship. Notebook: Thunder 104, Kings 95

THE FACTS: It wasn’t pretty, in fact there were times when it was downright ugly but the Oklahoma City Thunder held off a stubborn Sacramento Kings squad 104-95 to win their 60th game of the season and clinch the top seed in the upcoming Western Conference playoffs.

Sacramento group given more time to make Kings' offer

A source with direct knowledge of the negotiations said that the Maloof family would be willing to give a group of investors looking to keep the Sacramento Kings in that city additional time, as late as through this weekend, to deliver a written matching proposal to the $341 million binding offer that the family received in January from a Seattle-based group that wants to move the Kings there next season.

THE FACTS: The visiting Houston Rockets topped the Sacramento Kings 112-102 in front of a lively crowd of 12,377 at Sleep Train Arena on Wednesday night. The Rockets, who had their star James Harden return after missing two games with a sore right foot, pushed the pace and led for the majority of the game.
