In the world of creator-owned comics, few creative teams have as much cache as Brian Wood and Ryan Kelly. These two have produced highly acclaimed, character-driven stories like Local, Demo, and The New York Four. But with Wood shifting focus to books like The Massive, Conan the Barbarian, and X-Men, while Kelly has been paired with Paul Cornell on the Vertigo series Saucer Country, it’s been a while since we’ve seen the Wood/Kelly team-up in action.
That’s finally going to change this summer. But don’t expect another volume of Demo or a similar creator-owned project. Dark Horse’s July solicitations have revealed that Kelly will be joining Wood’s Star Wars series for a three-issue story arc beginning with Star Wars #7. Here’s the solicit for issue #7:
