Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock get pulled over by police officer in Lamborghini Miura - video screencap

Filed under:

Jerry Seinfeld has featured many beautiful cars and hilarious comedians in his Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee web series, but this latest episode might top them all. (To his credit, it feels like we’ve been saying that a lot lately). In this video, Seinfeld snags the keys to a 1969 Lamborghini Miura and picks up funnyman Chris Rock.

Not surprisingly, Seinfeld says the Miura is “the most beautiful car ever designed,” and he shows how fast it can be, too. After stopping for lunch and a conversation with Rock, Seinfeld gets an unexpected chat with one of New Jersey’s Finest. There are plenty of laughs, but the Lamborghini and its long eyelashes steal the light in this episode. Check it out below.

Video: Seinfeld takes Seth Meyers out in the perfect Porsche

By Damon Lowney

Filed under:

The latest episode of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee features Seth Meyers of Saturday Night Live fame riding shotgun in what is a very special Porsche from host Jerry Seinfeld’s collection: a 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7. Seinfeld chose the “no-nonsense” sports car because he thought it fit his guest’s personality (Meyers thinks motorcycles “are like the cigarette of transportation”), but we enjoy the chance to see one of these rare, über-valuable Porsches being driven on city streets – and in the rain, no less! What we don’t like seeing is the Carrera RS being parallel parked behind a pick-up truck, though, fortunately, it seems that Seinfeld was able to avoid any front-end damage to the comparatively fragile Porsche.

Once at the coffee shop, the two comedians have a candid conversation about Meyers’ time with SNL, from his early days on the show when he didn’t think he was good enough to be a cast member to some of the high points in his career, such as SNL‘s “Really!?” segment that he performed in and how he became a writer for the show.

After coffee, when they’re back in the car and Seinfeld opens up the throttle of the lightweight RS 2.7, he manages to eke out a big grin from Meyers – or maybe it was a grimace at the thought of driving in the rain on old tires. Whatever the case, be sure to watch the video below (and stay tuned until the end for a surprise).

Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2013

By Justin Fenner

Is there any party like a Stella McCartney pre-collection party? As she’s done before, the designer brought her Pre-Fall offering to New York City and presented it as part of a lavish cocktail party. This week’s event at the Americas Society drew a number of McCartney’s boldfaced fans: Anna Wintour, Garance Doré, and Glenn Close were spotted in the crowd, and so were Alec Baldwin, his wife Hilaria Thomas, and Jessica and Jerry Seinfeld.

But not even stars that bright could outshine the models or what they were wearing: Hanne Gaby Odiele, for example, was spotted sitting on a comfortable-looking chair. If she weren’t dressed in head-to-toe McCartney, she would have looked like any other chic partygoer.

That might be because the clothes themselves were designed, in McCartney’s words, to “address every need of the modern woman’s wardrobe.” Odiele’s dress was a long-sleeved gown in black and white, but the collection featured plenty of functional coats (some double-breasted varietals feature lapels so wide they span their wearer’s shoulders) and no shortage of well-tailored separates. The tone-on-tone floral prints in oxblood and dark blue add visual interest, and so do the stripes in black, white, orange, and red.

A few pictures from the party below, as well as the full collection, here in the gallery.
