J.J. Abrams may have Star Wars: Episode VII in the pipeline, but let’s not forget that he’s still also at the helm of the Star Trek franchise. The long-awaited sequel Star Trek Into Darkness hits in May, which means more and more details about the top-secret storyline will begin to be revealed in the coming months.
In a new interview with MTV, Abrams addresses two new additions to the rebooted series: the nasty Klingons and the lovely Doctor Carol Marcus. Regarding the former, he confirms that the ridge-headed aliens will in fact be bad guys in the new film: “Their role in this is definitely that of adversary,” says Abrams, “and you’ll see how they play out.”
