THE FACTS: Klay Thompson poured in 24 points and David Lee added 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Golden State Warriors beat the Portland Trail Blazers 99-88 Wednesday night at the Rose Garden to claim the sixth seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

Notebook: Clippers 93, Trail Blazers 77

THE FACTS: Two victories away from clinching home-court advantage for the first round of the playoffs, the Clippers didn’t miss their chance to overrun the undermanned Trail Blazers. Caron Butler played through a sore right knee and scored a team-high 22 points before joining his fellow starters on the bench in the fourth quarter and they watched the reserves finish off the much-needed 93-77 victory at Staples Center.

THE FACTS: Hours after Derrick Rose provided a less-than-encouraging update on his immediate future, the Bulls hoped to get a boost from the returns of Taj Gibson and Kirk Hinrich after extended layoffs. Didn’t happen. The fourth-place Trail Blazers made it look easy in a 99-89 victory, only their 10th on the road this season. Thaddeus Young scored 19 points, Spencer Hawes had 18 points and 13 rebounds, Dorell Wright added 16 points and Damien Wilkins had 12.
